Large hotel in large grounds in a quiet location. It was clean and tidy, very friendly staff. The evening meal was excellent. Breakfast, your average buffet. On our stay the hotel was very quiet. It does have the facility for large functions!

Our room was ok but the bath had no hot water and it was ground floor with open patio doors only. Value for money though it was fine

The main part of the hotel could do with a refresh, it is quite dated. The staff were a mixed bunch of helpful/friendly and not. Whilst our room was comfortable and in the newer part of the hotel, the glass wall bathroom wasn't welcomed and a strange addition to the room meaning you had no privacy when using the bathroom from the other half. Plus you could hear guests in other rooms so sound proofing was lax. Breakfast was not great. We arrived about 8am and no one was there to seat us (as the sign requested we wait) for about 8 minutes so we had to go find someone to help, who then found the staff member who was covering that area. Breakfast had minimal options and an awkward tea/coffee machine. The room is very dated and not overall clean. We ordered a cooked breakfast and the parmentier potatoes were uncooked in the middle so both of us left them. They were clearly running on minimal staff as the only time a staff member was around was when a new guest needed to be seated and when items ran out on breakfast bar (like croissants) they did not replen them leaving some guests noticeably disappointed when they lifted up the napkins that covered everything to see little to no choice. No food labels were visible anywhere and no options highlighted for DF, GF or vegan, so if you had dietary requirements you would struggle to understand what would be safe to eat and no staff on hand to assist. Ended up going to a Costa for a coffee after. Overall quite a mediocre stay.
