Check in was quick and easy. The bathroom is one of the cleanest I’ve seen in a hotel, the elevator may be the worst I’ve ever been in. It is quiet and the location is close to popular things to do in the city.

Very centrally located. There is a subway entrance right around the corner and almost everything is within walking distance. We were able to drop our bags off at the desk prior to check in and after check out to continue enjoying the city. The floors that had ice machines also had water refill stations. The mini fridge in the room worked really well. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved having a mini fridge in the room and if we needed a microwave, one was available (24/7) in the breakfast area. Also liked that Target grocery and subway platforms are only a few blocks away. We stayed in room 2304 and the view was OK, but you could only see the bottom half of the Empire State Building unless you got very close to the window. From the 26th floor observation deck we could see that the view the other side of the hotel may be better than those towards the ESB. Breakfast was better than most hotels. Our only complaint is the banging noise coming from the top of the elevator shaft that could be heard on higher floors.

Paying extra for a higher floor with an Empire State view was nice for the quiet, but the view itself is just okay — you can see it from the 26th floor for free. Staff were polite. A highlight was enjoying a reasonably priced bottle of wine on the 26th-floor terrace — a calmer, cheaper alternative to rooftop bars with the Empire State right in front of you.

We were at the 2nd floor and aimed to take the stairs to the reception. They are very dirty. The sofa in the room was smelling very bad. The hotel is outdated.

Property is in a convenient location. Overall the hotel was fine, not the most updated or cleanest. Not all the front staff were friendly. Tried to check in an hour early and was told I had to pay an additional fee while the gentleman at the front desk helped friends of mine right away and did not try to charge them anything additional. If a room is not ready, that is completely fine, I understand check in times and know we were early, but she was a bit rude when I pointed out another party wasn’t charged. She didn’t tell me anything about the property like she did with others checking in and had poor customer service.

I really enjoyed our stay. Yes the property is a bit dated. But it met our needs nicely, was very clean, and the staff were all friendly. I also enjoyed the morning breakfast. We stayed on a higher floor so it was quiet for sleeping. I would definitely stay at the Hyatt place again.

The hotel is fine but somewhat "tired" although they do keep it up fairly well. It's just an older building with 28 floors and two elevators. All in all, it was a good experience. Lots of people smoking marijuana in the general area but it doesn't affect the hotel itself.

The rooms are a good size, well equipped and clean. The beds are very comfortable but could do with a spare blanket for colder nights. The Empire State Building view from our window was incredible. The rooms are quiet at night. The breakfast was a great selection of lovely, fresh food. The staff are kind and helpful. The area is perfect, surrounded by food places with lots of places in easy walking distance and it felt very safe. I would stay here again.

Too much noise from outside resulting in really poor sleeps. I know NYC is a vibrant busy city but I have stayed nearby before and it was no where near as noisy. When I spoke to the Receptionist she told me the hotel is old so the windows are old!!

Great location. Loved the breakfast. Room was small but normal for NYC. The couch made a huge difference for added comfort. Very happy that the front desk staff told us to check oit the view from the roof deck. Amazing view of the Empire State Building.

My schedule changed and I told the hotel within an hour of check-in that I wanted to check out for two or one night, but the lady at the counter pushed the responsibility onto hotel.com. So I contacted hotel.com and they pushed the responsibility onto each other. They were unwilling to solve my problem and their attitude was bad, which made me very disappointed.

An excellent location in Midtown Manhattan. Close to absolutely everything. The shops, dining, subway and other public transport, are all within a range if 100m to 400m away. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were extremely helpful in providing directions and provide shuttle service options.

Inside the hotel was fine, the outside was in a busy area in the city and the streets were gross and scary at night. But that’s everywhere in the city to be honest. When we got there we were told they had no more rooms and we had to walk like 8 blocks to another hotel at like 11pm. Would’ve been nice if they told us beforehand. The room at the other location was clean though and the guy at the front was nice.

The Hyatt Place in Midtown is very conveniently located to many of the major sites in NYC. It is possible to walk to very many of them. Others are only 5/6 bus stops away. The facilities are clean. Rooms have a good view. The breakfast is great and the staff work very hard to keep things freshly stocked.

Even though they advertise having a cocktail lounge, the entire time we were there, there was no bartender available, and no one on staff could provide a cocktail of any kind. They had no knowledge of the area or how to get around in the city. Never found restaurant. Staff said breakfast only even though they have posters advertising their restaurant.

The street noise was all night around. It was very difficult to rest up the body. The only time that we ordered a pizza from the kitchen, it arrived halfway cooked. Besides, it was a little bit pricey.

The standard rooms at this hotel were comfortable once we had adjusted the air conditioning. There was plenty of space and a 3 person sofa. The coffee machine could also be used for Tea. We slept very well on each of the 3 nights. Our room was on the 2nd floor of 26 - it had an awful view but was away from the street and very quiet - we used the stairs instead of the very busy lift. Breakfast was free to everyone but we had to eat outside on the Friday as everyone including us seemed to be fooled by the 9.00 finish time and turned up around 8.45. Saturday and Sunday with a 10.00 finish were much more relaxing. The hotel is not far from West 34th Street's Penn Street Station and the Subway is cheap and easy to use, although we tended to walk to most places as far up as the Rockefeller Centre where there is a great view of Central Park from the 70th floor Observation Tower.

this is a very average hotel the room was dated /nothing special, certainly nothing to write a nine rating pr 4 stars the breakfast that was free was atrocious, these type of simple breakfast should be easy -dried out eggs and stale bread
