Holiday Inn Express Richmond by IHG

Smelled bad. Only able to have 1 room key for 3 people. Pool out of service. Restaurant tables were dirty even prior to service. Dueling music played in the lobby.

Under construction

Hotel is under full renovations. Any service or area noted outside your room is not available. There is no bar, no pool, no laundry machine, no ice, etc…

I did not check in. With the construction it was to dirty and loud. They were still working at 9:30 pm. There is not restaurant/bar as advertised. When I called Expedia to get a refund, they called the hotel and the hotel told them I was already checked in and in my room and the reason that the bar and restaurant was closed was because it was after 9 PM.

The entrance hall is now under construction.

Looks were deceiving on this property! From the outside, super nice! Rooms were huge beautiful and spacious! We were without cable literally the entire time we were there. The front desk lady claimed to call, but not sure she really did. I spent 15 minutes on hold with DIRECTV myself trying to get it working. The lobby is under total renovation. No pool was listed on Expedia, but they had one. Claimed to have a “bar” but the front desk lady said no it’s currently a mobile one, but it wasn’t working. Sounds like she just didn’t want to do anything. Also, with Expedia, we booked two king bed rooms, only got one. The other was two queens which is not what we wanted.

It was a very nice Hotel, but it was a little noisy which is not their fault. It would have been nice to know that the pool was not in working order.

Nice place, recently renovated. Average for a HI express. Unfortunately part of our booking was because it said it had a restaurant and bar. However, when we arrived that was no longer the case. Interstate is next to the hotel and gets noisy. Nice staff, decent pool for kids, clean rooms.

Easy to park with trailer. Clean, modern room, comfortable bed, decent breakfast and coffee.

It seems like construction workers were maybe staying there and I’m thinking that’s where a lot of the dirty footprints in the main area and stains on the shower curtain came from. There were also crumbs left on our floor and what looked like dust on the night stand. I take cleanliness seriously so it did bother me but compared to some places this place was still fairly clean. We had family staying in another room and they didn’t have these issues. There is a lot of highway noise that didn’t bother us, but it is good to know if you are a light sleeper. We didn’t have time to use the amenities, but the pool looked clean the the fitness center was kept pretty warm (75 with 65% humidity). There are a lot of places to eat in the area and it was conveniently located near the highway. The beds were comfortable and we couldn’t hear the neighbors or people above us even though I think the place was pretty full judging from the buses outside. Overall it depends on what you are looking for in a stay- it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

Hotel looked new. Very clean and new.

It was okay. Just housekeeping didn't clean our room. We stayed 5 days. They just changed new towel but didn't even clean the room.

Clean rooms easily accessible.

Bathroom could have been cleaner. Lots of other people's hair in shower and floor.

I was very disappointed in my stay. I stayed at this hotel a few years ago when I was visiting family and had no issues. When I arrived, the lobby seemed clean and the staff was nice. When I entered my room, it smelled like stale cigarette smoke or maybe mildew - it wasn't pleasant. The footstool was dirty and looked like someone had bled on it or spilled something red at some point. But none of this compared to the fact that at 11pm another guest of the hotel entered my room. He was just as surprised to see me as I was to see him and he apologized profusely. I got a call 10 minutes or so later from the front desk associate, Kaye, who seemed to be confused about what room she put me in. She seemed to be fixing whatever mistake she made in her computer system while she was on the phone with me. Honestly, at that point I couldn't sleep and ended up checking out a few hours later and driving home. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

This was our second time to stay at the Richmond, IN location. It was very clean; the bed was very comfortable; the bathroom was spotless and a nice size. I would have given the highest rating but on the morning we left there was no hot water. It was a cold morning and we really could have benefitted from hot water.

Hotel was very clean and good looking for the most part. Stayed for a night and was decent. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. Room had a small fridge and a microwave which is a huge plus. Good dining options close by and a gas station right next door. Close to highway easy on and off. Staff was courteous. A few minor issues in the room. No luggage stand to place your bag on in the room. The sink was clogging up and phone didn't work. Notified the front desk and they said they'll have maintenance look into it.

Bathroom light wouldn't stay on. Toliet leaked.

The heater fan made a weird sound every time it went off

Very very nice hotel. Room Was spacious and the beds slept so good. Shower was also very nice.

Outstanding staff

Our original booking, had a flood that affected 4 rooms. We were moved to another branch 3miles down the road. The kindness was very nice when your visit was due to a family death and needed handicap rooms.

Great customer service

Property appears to have undergone some updates and renovations. Young woman working the front desk was very nice.

The property appeared to be newly remodeled and was very clean. The desk staff need a little renovation. My cousin who is diabetic asked that the ice pak holder for her insulin be placed in a freezer. After returning about 2 hours later, it was still lying out and the desk staff just standing around.

having handicap rooms all the way on the 3rd floor is a bit ridiculous. If people are handicapped, they don't want to walk a mile to get to their room. Having only 2 luggage carts for the whole hotel is also a bit ridiculous. We waited for over 25 minutes hoping that one nice guest would bring back a cart. Of course that didn't happen. We had to go to each floor trying to find one that we could use. We did finally find one on our own. If you are only going to have 2 carts for the whole building then have someone around to go and look for them when they are missing in action. A guest going to look for one just so they can get their stuff in their room is UNBELIEVABLE. When there are 2 people standing at the counter and you are coming in to check in, and one never acknowledges that you are even there is really just plain down right RUDE! She could've just said hello welcome to Holiday Inn or whatever it is they say and that they that she was doing whatever and that the other would be with us after she was finished checking the guest in. Instead of doing any of that she bent down and hid her face behind the computer screen, which is down right RUDE. If I was ever in this area again I do not believe I would stay at this hotel again. With all of the issues we have had since we checked in it is definitely NOT worth the price we paid!!!!

We were only there one night traveling to Yellowstone Park. The room was comfortable and cleaned. The staff was very friendly.

The desk attendant was friendly and courteous. The room was clean, roomy and comfortable with a spacious bathroom and shower. Breakfast was terrific! The only downside is the location next to an interstate highway, but car travel is why we and most other guests were there for the night.

BOOKED 3 ROOMS ONLY BECAUSE THEY SHOWED A BAR AND RESTAURANT INSIDE THE HOTEL. ARRIVED AND WAS TOLD THEY'D BEEN REMOVED MONTHS BACK. VERY DISSAPOINTED.

Staff in all ares were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, cooked perfectly.

I have stayed here many times. I am thrilled the restaurant and bar are open again after covid. it is super convenient, and they stay open until 10 most nights.

Always enjoy Holiday Inn Express and the breakfast is good

Kay at reception was excellent. Super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Room condition was clean but not exceptional. Tiny bath soaps. No fresh towels for day 2. Breakfast buffet unappealing, no fruit. Silverware looked dirty and was dumped in a tray. Overall hotel was ok but nothing to write home about.

We are regulars at IHG hotels. Our stay was comfortable and would stay again. The only that was bothersome was that they charged for a breakfast that you get for free at other IHG hotels.
