The hotel was fairly clean, the breakfast wasn't very good. They were doing construction through out the week but made no mention at check in. Also, it was very hot in all the hallways. The elevators took forever.

One elevator was out of order. The other was incredibly slow. We waited for 15 minutes to be able to take our luggage downstairs. Breakfast seating area was tiny given full occupancy. Overall not worth the cost of the stay.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION (and that's about it). Visited NYC for a few days to enjoy some live theatre prior to the Tony's and this place was pretty well reviewed with a decent price. There was construction in front of the building which was a bit of a nuisance, but understandable. The view from my room was nice as long as you didn't look downn (see photo). The bigger issues were the elevator which seemed to always be full and took multiple passes before there was room to get in. If you take the stairs down, you end up outside the hotel and have to walk back in. The breakfast is a joke as it is always packed and if you show up even an hour after it starts, most of the food will be picked over. None of this prevented me from having a great time at the theatre, but I'm sure there are better options in the area. Plenty of food options in the area which were much better than the breakfast buffet.

I booked a hotel and paid in advance for both my stay and parking. When I arrived to check in, the front desk guy gave me a parking business card and told me to go there. I drove to the parking lot and left my car. This morning, I checked out and went to pick up my car, but they told me I had to pay because it wasn’t covered. I explained that I had already paid for both the hotel and parking together. They said they had nothing to do with the hotel. I called the front desk, and they told me the same thing—that they had no connection to the parking lot. So why does the hotel charge for parking? I ended up paying for parking twice, just to get my car back. This is terrible. I've never felt so scammed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Absolutely awful!

The rooms were small but functional. The front desk staff was great! The property is remodeling so there is scaffolding sand dumpsters. No outside seating at all.

Hotel is passed it's prime. Rooms are small but clean and the beds are comfortable. Staff is super helpful and friendly but the rooms are small and outdated, the elevator is slow and the breakfast area is small and packed no matter when you go. But there were lots of selection for breakfast and they had good options in the foyer for food and drinks. Hotel is walkable to everything.

The carpet of the bedroom smell to bad. We had to be with the odor One night because the hotel Was full. The New room had the same problem, but at least the odor was less. Really the cost was too high to support the bad odor. The positive was the hotel location. Close to Time Square walking.

The rooms were filthy and not appropriately stocked. Mold throughout the shower, shower had dirt and hair in it upon arrival, body gel empty, towels were like sand paper. The "waiting area" was the size of a postage stamp. The eating area was cramped, hot, crowded, very limited seating, food was subpar and worst coffee ever. I've stayed in nicer Motel 6's.

Pro: friendly staff, great location, and comfy beds and pillows. Con: Our room is horribly soundproofed. We could hear every sound clearly, such as when someone was walking in the hallway, talking, or the door of the nearby room was closed. We had a ground-floor room, and were not informed that construction was taking place right outside our room, located at the back of the building. We were woken up at 8 am with hammering and people talking right outside our window. When we first walked into our room, it smelled of mildew. We thought that once AC kicks in, the room would smell better. However, the room continues to smell of mildew by the end of each day, when we return from our daily outings. I do not think I would stay there again.

Staff were helpful and sorted problems out quickly and efficiently. The hotel’s decor is dated and the carpet in my room was dirty, (I bought sliders from a bargain shop nearby). The worst thing about the hotel is breakfast, nowhere to sit, not enough staff to replenish the food, customers behave like seagulls around a trawler when food comes out. There is no monitoring of who is eligible for breakfast, you could easily walk in off the street and help yourself. The food itself is average but, because other guests hoard food like there is a siege, the selection is poor. The hotel really should work at breakfast as it is its biggest failing

Rooms are clean but tiny. Our room didn’t get cleaned the three nights we were there and we had to ask for towels. Breakfast area was so tiny. Tv remote didn't work nor did a couple of plugs.

Our first room had a smell, drippy toilet, air con that didn’t work and noise from a fan on corridor- we asked to be moved and we were- 2 doors up the corridor The room was do much better and had air con that worked. There was still noise from the vent in corridor but the air con was noisy too! The decor needs updating but the beds were very comfy and the pillows were wonderful. This helped us sleep in a noisy room! However, the room was great overall. The hotel is in a great location. Hadn’t realised breakfast was included until the last morning but if you can beat the rush it’s worth it!

We were really disappointed with our stay. Despite paying a premium price, we were given a ground floor room, which we did not expect or request. The noise levels were unbearable—constant disturbances from people walking by, doors slamming, and traffic outside. It made it hard to relax or get a decent night’s sleep. For the amount we paid, we expected a much more peaceful and comfortable experience. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Small room. Couldn't not even pass each other without someone having to move on to a bed. No room whatsoever. checked in and had 1 towel for a family of 4. Requested more and had to call 3 times over a couple of hours before we got them. Day 2, housekeeping came and took all of the towels... did not even leave a hand towel. Towel chase began again. Very loud, 6th floor, could hear street noise like the windows were open and hall noise. Staff not super friendly, just very transactional.

Worse hotel stay in my life. Location is not bad but the room was funky. The staff was awful. They charged my card $1600 because they charged me for the deposit that I had already paid, the remaining balance and then the entire amount. When I complained about it, their response was "oh no worries, the charge will go back when you check out". Are you kidding me??? The staff also acts as if they don't understand English when you have an issue but I watched them talk perfect English to other guests. Never again!!!!

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express NY was excellent! The room was clean and tidy, the breakfast was good, and the service was also excellent. I was allowed access to my room an hour before check-in. The only issue was that they charged me $50 at check-in and said it would be refunded after check-out. A month has passed, and I still haven't received the deposit.

I stayed 8 nights with 4 people in one room. One night they only provided us with 2 bath towels and said they ran out of towels and didn't know when they would get more. With 4 of us in one room in hot and humid NY this was unacceptable. We did not want to share a bath towels with each other and there were no stores nearby to buy any towels. Every day they only provided us with 2-3 towels with a 4 person reservation to the room. I had to inconveniently call the front desk staff every night to deliver extra towels.

Staff ! Front desk were always very helpful and kind. The food staff were rockstars’ all of them. It gsets crazy busy at breakfast and they installed new coffee dispensers and of course they didn’t work as planned. Everyone came together managers, and staff to solve the problem!

This is a really nice NY hotel option. Affordable (at least for NYC), and well-run. The staff were great. Good shower and A/C, really made NYC in a hot, hot summer tolerable. The breakfast area is kind of a madhouse, the space just not big enough to accommodate the crush of people using it every morning.

Location is great, in walking distance to Hudson river. Bus stops for 3 different routes also in walking distance. Room was ok and clean. The breakfast room was too small, there were not enough seats during the morning rush hour. Food selection for breakfast could be better to give more options to people who don't want a warm breakfast. I don't want hot sausage, potatoes or bacon for breakfast. Offering ham and cheese to make a regular sandwich would be nice. I liked the fact that fruits were available.

Breakfast is insane. They had seriously up to 100 people in dining area. The food is in a really bad spot , hard to get it and many things were out everyday. We gave up on tht free breakfast,wasn't worse the hastle especially when much of the food was gone and not refilled.

The hotel offered a comfortable and clean room with modern amenities, making for a relaxing stay. Staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. The hotel is located about 15 minute walk to timea square and a couple of blocks away from closest bus. We werent aware of the works going on at the hotel and were suprised to find no outdoor seating and the outdoor area covered in scaffolding, additionally there were workmen going up and down past our window doing repairs that started quite early in the morning. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable bed, aircon worked perfectly and there were coffee making facilities. The fridge did work but only kept things cool rather than cold. However the thing that ruined our stay was breakfast. There were far too many people and not enough seating or food. We tried at several different times but it was still unpleasant. Food ran out as quickly as it was bought out and it was impossible to move around safely and comfortably. Pros- location, room space, aircon and general cleanliness of hotel. Local shops for food, drinks and bars etc. Cons- breakfast was over crowded, disorganised and not enough food or coffee. Lifts during breakfast. No warning of works at the hotel. Reception had 1 small sofa so not ideal when waiting for cabs etc.

Food options werent great. Couldnt get fresh eggs or even pancakes. Food was not made with love. Potatoes dry, eggs watery, sausage hard.
