Its affordable and clean. My wife and just need a place to sleep. This was it. Clean bed, room, bathroom and shower. Its not fancy but thats what we like. Mini fridge, AC, Smart TV with cable, free wifi, clean soft towles in the bathroom, and hot coffee in the main building in the morning. And it was good coffee too. Like homemade coffee. If the wife and I are in the area again we'd come back. No question about that.

I saw other reviews that the room was outdated but everything seemed relatively in date. Room came with a keurig and k cups. In a great area, just a few minutes from Munising. Only downside was WiFi was a little spotty. Check in and out was also very quick and efficient.

Decided to try a motel and this place was great. Quiet, clean and excellent for our quick visit to town. Easy check in and out, clean room, and we slept well too :-) our Dog liked it too.

Room was clean and comfortable, as was the property. Bed was comfortable however, pillows left something to be desired. Staff was friendly and helpful. Coffee maker did not work but office had fresh hot coffee. Over all nice stay for the price.

We got there and there was hair in the sink and hair in the shower right after house keeping said it was ready. My wife was grossed out and didn't want to stay here. The manager was nice and gave us a complete refund.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and liked it, so I came back. However this time I felt the room was in bad shape. First you need to understand that the hotel is retro, and that’s what I liked about it previously. I also liked the owner. The room smelled strongly like mildew and dirty laundry. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way. There were pubic hairs in the tub and a sponge used to clean the tub was left in the tub. I found hairs on my blanket. Though I really wanted to like the place, it just didn’t live up to the previous experience, and I sadly would not stay there again.

I was surprised & disappointed with my stay based on the ratings I saw before booking. The staff I had contact with were all very friendly. However my accommodations were not good. The room seemed clean overall. The mattress was extremely hard & uncomfortable, the pillows seemed lumpy & old. Bath towels also seemed old & a bit dog-eared. The towel bar in the bathroom was half pulled away from the wall. The WIFI never worked the several nights I stayed. I actually left a day early because the bed was so uncomfortable & the overall experience was disappointing.

Overall I had a great stay here. I liked the room layout and the seamless shower. The office was great and I really appreciated the free coffee! I liked the location although the road noise was constant. I was glad to have a nice ac unit to help with the heat and help drown out the noise.

The bed was like sleeping on a rock. The toilet was filthy. If you enjoy the sound of the highway this the place for you. I spend about 50% of nights in motels and for a room like what I stayed in I would expect to pay between $40.00 and $50.00 per night, not $160.00

If u r looking for Holiday Inn this place is not for u. It is a good value for the money, clean, nice bed. No amenities. Small room. It is a mom and papa place. Room had a strange smell. Not sure how it could get an 8.8 on Expedia more like a 7.3

The only negative is thin walls and loud neighbors. If you can get past that, you’re in for some lovely service, warm and clean rooms, a decent amount of amenities, and a stay in a fascinating part of Mich.

We had a great stay at the Alger Falls Motel. We were up to run the Pictured Rocks Half Marathon that took place on a Sunday. Due to this, we were going to be unable to check out at the scheduled 10 AM time, however, we are accommodated nicely and were able to get a late check-out. The motel is older, but has everything you need. I am not sure if it's listed, but there is a Keurig in the room with the fridge and microwave. Additionally, they have complimentary coffee in the lobby room. The room was clean and a decent size for two people. There was a pretty strong mildew smell in our room that required us to keep the window in the bathroom and the room itself open for the entirety of our stay. All in all, we would return and would recommend!

Pros- the lady who checked is in was very pleasant and friendly. Very nice lady. Cons - Old tired motel room. Bathroom toilet would not flush because pipe was blocked. Owner tried to use plunger and then gave us a plunger to use during our stay which we had to use. The shower drain did not work so water filled the tub as you showered...yuck. Plumber was called in on day 2. The bathroom door would not close because the wood is warped. Only way to close it is to slam it with full force which would disturb the neighboring rooms. We paid over $350 for 2 day stay. I understand that accommodations in the UP are expensive, but the owner declined giving us any discount or refund even though we had to clean our own toilet for a day of our stay. Extremely overpriced for how old and worn out it is. Would not recommend it to anyone. Disappointed in hotels.com even offering this as an option.

Housekeeping was good — clean beds and bathroom. Carpeting was old and mildewy. Needs replacing. We didn’t walk barefoot and took allergy meds for our one night there. Front desk staff was brusque. Not the UP hospitality we expect from these cute motels. All in all so-so for $200.
