Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station

Good location with quick access to Hell's kitchen, Theatre district, Empire State Bldg only several blocks away, and Times square (though I don't go to Times square). Good selection of bars and restaurants in Hell's Kitchen about Theatre District. Easy access to downtown attractions via 34th/Penn metro station. Only minor complaints I had were (a) roof bar was not open (b) my bed was not very comfortable, and (c) long waits for the elevators.

Very convenient 24/7 parking in the next door garage. Take the ticket and get it validated by the hotel. This was major for us because other NYC hotels have garages far away, or none. Rooms and beds are smaller than usual, but the beds were clean and comfy, and we didn't go there to spend time inside. There's a Starbucks in the train station (hence Penn Station) across the street. Famous bagel place around the corner. Subway is a few blocks away, too. They kept our luggage before we were able to check in. Nice, easy-going, and helpful people, be it the reception desk, the breakfast serving crew, and the cleaning staff. Tourism done right.

Percet stay! Great location, amazing rooftop bar, good breakfst

Issues with elevators during check out was inconvenient. I was on the 19th floor and have 3 herniated discs. 20 minutes is too long. The biggest issue is one stopped working Friday night and was not fixed in the am.

Our stay at Fairfield Inn was excellent, The staff were friendly and helpful. The room whilst small suited us as we only used it to sleep, it was clean, beds comfortable. Within walking distance of most things, Times Square, Penn Station, Empire State Building. Laundry facilities were great. Breakfast was great, lots of options. This property suited us for a base to explore New York

We stayed for three nights following the 18 night cruise and a short trip up to Niagara. The hotel were very accommodating in storing our main luggage whilst we went up to Canada. The reception staff and the concierge were extremely helpful. The position of the hotel is excellent for the subway as you are directly by Penn Station with numerous options of routes. The rooftop bar is particularly nice for a quick drink after a full day in New York.

For NYC it was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I like the 24 hour fitness center along with a nice bar.

Loved the location!! Perfect proximity to transit options and the lovely Chelsea area. Clean hotel, great service! The only thing that I didn’t love was the loud music playing in the bar every night. I love to wind down with a relatively quiet night-cap after a day in the city, so the loud music was a turn-off for me. But, others may like that vibe… to each their own.

Great location, but the hotel has a problem with elevator service. The three small elevators are not enough for the number of rooms, not to mention they are also used by housekeeping staff to move their carts between floors which causes long waits. Also the breakfast area is pretty small for the number of guests. Staff are friendly.

In a week, they just clean once my room after I complained about it. The hotel wasnt clean at all.

Hotel is lacking of maintenance and it was very dirty. Only good thing was the breakfast.

My wife and (2) kids were on a mini-vacation in New York from 7/18/24 - 7/22/24. We had made prior reservations at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Midtown Manhattan. On the night of 7/18/14, while tucked in her bed, my daughter felt something crawling on her hands and legs. She immediately jumped out of her bed in shrugged off the buds. After doing our research we realized we were dealing with bed bugs. My wife and I immediately gathered our belongings and put them in our bags and secured them. Then, I advsed them to stay vigilant as I went down stairs to notify the front desk about what transpired. We were immediately moved to another room. No sooner had we settled in the new room than we realized it was also infested with beg bugs. This time we found bed bugs on the covers. I was both calm/firm as I demanded the host to removed us from the facility and secure a place for us in another sister facility nearby. Fortunately, there was a facility a few blocks away where we would spend the night. Come morning of the 7/18/24, the arrangement with the previous host was that they would have a resolution moving forward. Unfortunately, that was not the case as my family and I were out a room as someone had already made a prior reservation. I was left with two options: to go back to the bed bug infested Fairfiled hotel in Midtown, or book a whole new reservation at a different facility. I chose the later and moved my family to the Hilton Hotel at NY 1335 6th Ave in Midtown.

The sheets and blankets had yellow stains on them and when we ask for fresh linen they also had the same stains besides that,the view was ok

Good for a tourist trap hotel, since they probably have a high traffic things tend to get banged up and mystery stains. Restroom was clean, bedroom was pretty clean just mystery cup stains on the night stand, the table lamp had 5 red fingerprints, carpet near the entrance, TV hdmi input was not working. They have a laundromat which I was desperate need of after getting stranded because a project. Only one washer and two dryers (one broken) they require quarters for something that should be complementary there is a money changer there (also broken) ask the front desk for change. The pricing is high for laundromat use (4$ wash, 4$ dry, soap 2$). Also complementary WiFi requires you to make an account with them, first time I have seen that usually it’s just a TOS and go. View from room is 1/10 you face towards the side of the building next door, with the beautiful tops of HVAC units below. Kind of a pro because minimal NYC traffic noise. Also they have terrible door locks, it has a dead bolt for safety but if you turn the handle to exit it undoes it, their are many tricks to enter room using the types of handles they use, poor type of lock, and you probably want a safe lock because NYC. Pros: quiet, right near penn station so if you are working there you save yourself the hassle of NY commute.

Very clean

Unfortunately the condition of the room was sub par for what i paid to stay there. The window had a large crack in it, the bathroom sliding door literally took all my strength to open and close, the bathroom had hair all over from the previous occupant and a few towels we receive had stains on them. Very unpleasant accommodations. The one saving grace was the very pleasant staff we encountered from the second we arrived.

Staff was great but accomodations were sub par. Windows leaked and soaked the carpet and had to move rooms. New room was smaller but better view of the city. Carpet was stained, mattresses were hard if you like that sort of thing...i personally dont. Roof in breakfast area was also leaking and dropping paint and drywall. But again staff were kind, attentive and accomodating, doing the best they can with what they have to work with

A place with very good cleaning, excellent atmosphere, good service, very varied and good breakfast

We had room 1211 between april 10th - april 17th 2024. The staff and the location was great! The rooms were alright but I dont know about 4 stars with a smelly and dirty carpet and a bathroom in a quite poor condition, and the bed sheet had some dirty spots. They were washed but still. Our window was covered in a big dried stain of vomit from some room above ours, so the view was a bit disappointing in that regard. Other than that the "Welcome note" from the hotel stated that "There are some bottles of water in your room for $5 per bottle if you'd like" but none were to be found. None were charged from our credit card (yet) but still. Breakfast was included but it was bland coffee, premade and heated stuff and no veggies or fruit whatsoever. We went for bagels, sandwiches and coffee around the corner instead. Overall it wasn't terrible, but probably not my first choice next time I visit NY.

The beds are not comfortable

This is my vacation go to hotel when I come to NYC. We just stayed for our 3rd time this past weekend and it wasn’t the best stay we’ve had here. We got put in an ADA room which my boyfriend and I did not care about, however, the room was extremely small for being an ADA room. When we stood in the shower we could touch our elbows from the side of the shower to the shower curtain, from it being so small. The room was small as well, we could barely fit the desk chair in between the bed and the desk, I am not sure how someone would even fit a wheelchair in that area or in the room itself. The bed was hard as rock, and the pillows just suck from being so flat. We will stay here again but will not stay in an ADA room again, and as someone who doesn’t have a disability, I was very disappointed to see this would be the room someone with a disability would get. 5/10 experience for us this time around.

Room was nice and clean. Only problem is the bathroom had a barn style door that was mostly glass. The door didn’t lock and when some used the bathroom in the middle of the night it lit up the whole room and woke everyone up.

Property Was Very Clean, The Room Was Spacious.

Had a fabulous 7 nights in this hotel in June 2025. We booked a city view, I didn't want to leave! Had breakfast some mornings but other days we had other plans, there was so much choice and it really set us up for the day. We arrived by Amtrak and left on the LIRR, it was literally steps to the side door of Moynihan train hall. Could also get almost anywhere with the subway stops nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable, fairly spacious. My room had a nice view of Penn Station across the street. Great location if you’re going to Madison Square Garden (less than a block away). No handheld shower head in the bathroom, no foldable luggage rack, no armchair in the room. Nice that breakfast is included but the food quality was not great. Convenient worktable space in stylish lobby. Friendly, helpful staff.

No heat in the room. Only air conditioning for the season. Froze in 68 degree room temp!

Very convenient location right across from the rail station, walkable to sites in all directions. There location itself is away from the midtown chaos tho, which was very nice. The deluxe King room was pretty small, but it’s affordable NYC. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the pillows were squishy. However the shower was large and wonderful. Would definitely stay here again.

My 9 year old son and I were traveling together and Shea at the front desk started off our trip with so much kindness and help as we arrived very early in the morning. The included breakfast was so convenient, with many options, and the staff was so friendly and helpful, especially to my young son. The only issue we had was one day we forgot to take off the do not disturb sign, so we had to call for clean towels. We called 3 times because they kept saying they would bring them but never did. You cant beat the location being right next to Penn station. Would definitely stay here again!

For some reason, I had to wait almost 45 minutes before get my room. All other people got their rooms right away.

I liked the location. Easy walking distance to attractions. Did not like that I was charged a restaurant charge to my room that I did not use and that still has not been resolved.

They asked me to have a $100 deposit. But After check out, and it’s more than two weeks now and they have not issued the refund, they told me before that it will be refunded 3-5 days after check out. I have been keeping in touch with them but the Front Desk manager is not even replying anymore. That’s $100.

Staff at this hotel were SUPERB!!!! I should have written this immediately, because I have forgotten names of the front desk agent who checked us in, and REALLY started our weekend off so well, and, the Breakfast Manager, with whom we chatted, who also really made our stay so nice and happily memorable. I follow a Celiac and lactose-free diet, and the breakfasts made this possible. Finally, if you travel to NYC by train, as we did, you can not beat the location, across the street from the new Amtrak station. Win win, but the STAFF were the best thing of all. (and the comfy bed!)

the front desk staff were very helpful in setting us up in a room with a connecting door to another room with our family. Also, the front desk staff person gave us a complimentary extension of 30 minutes for check out to accommodate our travel plans. The sign in our room said that check out was at noon (not 11). Those signs should be updated.

Che is an outstanding representative for the hotel. She made the check I experience a wonderful experience.

Rude check in person with an attitude. My room was prepaid but needed credit card for room and taxes.. i repeated it was prepaid and finally she said it was a deposit for miscellaneous or something. Then she stuck credit card in machine far from me and told me to pull it towards me. I pulled machine and she got all pissed because she wanted me to SWIPE my card and had to repeat something. Glad she walked away and a polite and caring young man finished the check-in.

We arrived at 3:15 pm for check in only to be told that our reservation was cancelled but hey could accommodate us at another hotel 15 minutes away. She explained that because we booked through Expedia, when they over book, they bump those reservations first. She said I have to understand that the other people paid more for their room. Needless to say, we cancelled the reservation and booked elsewhere.

Convenient right next to Penn station so easy to grab the subway. Walkable distance to Times Square as well.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. With Penn Station across the street, you can go anywhere in the city easily.

The location of this property is perfect for exploring NYC. The included full daily breakfast was a delightful addition. The hotel is fairly updated with good AC. They hold bags for you as well even after you checked out. Overall a great place to stay in Midtown.

Directly opposite Penn Train Station, very convenient for travelers arriving by train, surprisingly calm rooms, fast elevators, free water in the lobby, good breakfast buffet included, impressive views to the south towards One World Trade Center

The location is perfect for being right next to the train station and walkable to Time Square, restaurants, the Vessel and shopping. Very quiet in the rooms and all staff very friendly and helpful!!

Get off LIRR (JFK airport) or New Jersey Transit (Newark airport) and walk to hotel in minutes! Surprisingly quiet street although accessible to shops on 7th and 8th avenues. Breakfast included. Minutes to High Line, a beautiful walk way. B&H electronics store right around the corner. Try In Common breakfast place 4 min by walking. Room was comfortable although a little small.

Access to shopping, dining and transportation. Very convenient location and the breakfast was excellent.

Across the street from Penn Station. Close to many attractions in NYC. Breakfast was disappointing, even if you go before 8am. No eggs, cut fruits are either very soft or frozen. No regular milk available, just plant based.

The included breakfast was excellent. Hot and cold options, fruit, pastries and some to-go items like cookies and brownies. Left each morning with a happy tummy.

Really good location for exploring NYC and getting to the sites. Friendly staff and decent selection at breakfast. Good dining options nearby and subway and buses. Great shopping options too. Only downside was when it is busy at breakfast things don’t get filled fast enough.

Nice hotel close to MSG and train stations. Most of the staff were friendly. The on-site bar and restaurant,…would definitely not recommend. Super overpriced, horrible food and service from staff was beyond horrible. Breakfast was decent but the small space was overcrowded for the amount of guests, We liked that they had a luggage storage service, so when check out is 11 and you aren’t leaving the city early you have option to store it so you aren’t toting it around!!l That was a win.
