Nice swimming pool and firepit, lounge chairs on lawn oceanside, onsite restaurant and lots of nearby dining and shopping, great walking/bike path with bikes available at the hotel, good 'grab and go' breakfast with tables available if you wanted to eat there. Small refrigerator in room, no microwave.

Really loved views of the ocean suite, nice grounds & beach next door was never busy. As others mentioned, our King reservation was not guaranteed so we almost ended up in a double. Be sure to call ahead & confirm what you expect. No coffee in the lobby available, not even during the grab & go breakfast. Small in-room pot only. Nice perks of sunrise yoga, and having bikes for use as long as one is available that is your size since the seats don't adjust. East parking. Great spot to explore Kauai by car, would stay here again!

We absolutely loved this place. It was very quiet and calm. The pool was rarely busy, the beach was almost never swam in because it has big waves constantly that were beautiful and had a constantly relaxing sound. The sunrises were beautiful. The office has free bikes to use and knowledge of great bike paths. Free water bottles, water and ice. Fire pit every evening. Restaurant on premise thats very nice. Beautiful walking path. Shopping within walking distange. We would have been happy staying here and not going anywhere else on the island if money for sight seeing and shopping is tight. We will be back and totally recommend for those not looking for a party.

Pros: Overlooking the beach. We had a pretty nice view for a decent price. There’s breakfast but it’s just cereal, muffins, apples .. can’t complain since it’s free but wish there were more options. Cons: AC wasn’t blowing cold at all. Checked into a very warm room. Outdated bathroom. Walk-up building only. Uncovered parking. FYI: Very low ceiling / ceiling fan so taller people have to be careful. Our friend whacked his hand pretty hard on it just stretching lol.

There wasn't enough parking on the property for all the rooms. We got in late and were leaving early so I ending up taking a handicap stall. The lady at check in insisted we get the licenses plate number to our vehicle in the parking lot verse just giving us a tag to put in the vehicle. The morning Breakfast shouldn't be advertised as a breakfast buffet. It's Costco packaged muffins and bulk containers of little cereal- don't bother walking down for it. There wasn't even coffee..

It’s a small little hotel right on the beach. The views of the ocean are amazing. They have free continental breakfast and the pool is nice. Would be prefect if they had a hot tub. There is a restaurant onsite that opens for dinner. Food was good. There’s plenty of shopping nearby. Safeway is across the street and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. The beach is literally next to the hotel and the pool area is very pretty and well maintained. Nice lush greenery with nice palm trees. Can’t get over that view. Definitely a great choice when staying in Kauai. It’s also relatively close to the airport.

Being right next to the ocean with a great view is this hotels biggest asset. Being built in the 1970's, it's showing it's age in some areas. The carpet, inside the rooms and outdoors, is old, as is the furnishings inside. The $25/day resort gives you free parking, access to bikes, weekday yoga at 7am, prepackaged danish or muffins(Otis Spunkmeyer brand), yogurt and cereal and milk, but no juice or coffee. You can make coffee in your room yourself, but there needs to be coffee down in the breakfast room. I wouldn't call this a traditional continental breakfast as I've experienced elsewhere, and after the first try, we skipped it. We usually went over to a nearby bakery, deli (Waipouli Deli has great breakfast, and we were the only tourist there), or Starbucks. The water bottle and water dispenser is nice, however, check your water by holding it up to the light as we saw lots of small white cloudy particles floating in the water so we stopped drinking it. The swimming pool is nice, but the absence of a hot tub is a drawback. If you're considering this hotel it's main attraction is the price(add the $25 day fee), then the central location, and being right on the ocean.

You can get free bikes in the lobby; the hotel is near Ke Ala Hele Makalae Path, so it is really easy to go for a bike ride along the coast with your family. The hotel has a sea wall so you can't get into the ocean right in front of the hotel, but you can access the beach and walk on the sand at the two neighboring resorts.

The pros: great location - could not be closer to the ocean. Sound of the waves at night was awesome. Friendly staff and nice paths to walk. Cons: dated rooms with a musty smell. Not much space and the outside needed some updates. Parking is cramped.

The breakfast could use a few more selections and a coffee pot. The amenities were unique and nice! The bikes, morning yoga as well as the pool were nice to have! As well as the unique welcoming gifts. The cleanliness of the room was just okay. Noticed lots of dirt that was just missed as well as the room smelled of mildew.

The room was clean and well maintained. The lanai was reasonably sized and overlooked the beack and courtyard. We did not use the pool but we did walk the area, and both the pool and grounds were in ver good condition.

Overall a positive experience! Comfortable room with beautiful ocean view. Plenty of space for two people, comfortable bed, and we had everything we needed. The area is a bit more commercial but that does come with the convenience of grocery stores and tons of restaurant options. Only downsides were that we were unable to drop off our luggage early and there was somewhat of a mildew smell and mold in the bathroom. Unfortunately this is fairly common is ocean side hotels so not a deal breaker.

Musty smell in the room. Pillow case smelled as if it wasn't changed. Pictures of the place deceivingly look good. But nothing like it in person. The place looks old. But have to admit price is good, and a good location as a base to visit the north, south and west.

Property was probably about as expected for the price. Pros: - Right on the beach - Continental breakfast - Bikes are available for free Cons: - We booked for two people, and they gave us two double beds instead of a queen or king. That didn't make sense to me. The default should be one bed. There were no options to choose beds when I booked. I don't know if that was an ISO problem or a hotels.com problem. - Property inside and out is very old and dated. It does not look like the picture. Rooms smell very musty. - Television was basically broken

Our room was directly above the restaurant which played music every evening from 7 to 9 pm. We could sing along if we wanted to. We were not informed that our room offered this special benefit. The pillows were very firm or very lumpy. The television never worked. The air conditioner remained on continuously at a frigid temperature that the controls could not adjust. The location was great. Breakfast was adequate. Several staff members were helpful. However, we paid for paradise and received numerous torments to overcome.

Great location right on the ocean. Stayed in the older section above the restaurant which was fine however they have music every night from 7 to 8:30. which reverberated up through the room. The food and service at the restaurant, "The Bull Shed" was excellent. Grounds were maintained beautifully.

The ocean view room as you can see from the photos is amazing. As for the rooms, they used some photo magic. They are cute but not very updated. They had very friendly staff! Daily yoga on the beach every morning! Right on the ocean so even if you don’t get an ocean view rooms you can just pop out and play in the waves! We were able to sleep with the window and doors open falling asleep to the waves crashing. There is a lot of options of stores, restaurants and other amenities within walking and biking. I highly recommend.

The room was totally inappropriate and difficult to use with two A-frame type beams dominating the room. One made it impossible to get in on one side of the bed without climbing over the beam; the other angled directly across the closet door, making it virtually impossible to use. And the furnishings were placed oddly in such a way as to render them useless.

The ISO is a great affordable option to some of the other overblown resorts in the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is helpful, and the hotel is conveniently located close to some great restaurants and island excursions. While it may not have the bells and whistles of nearby options, it has a pool, a great continental breakfast, and EVERY room is ocean-view.

room and hotel feels a bit outdated, had an old ac smell, did not encounter any bugs. pool is nice, the hotel is nothing fancy but acceptable if you can overlook the outdated halls and older rooms. no microwave in room (there is one you can use in the lobby until 10pm). Had a nice patio.

We loved that if was so quiet and the ammenities were outstanding. The oceanside room was so relaxing and beautiful sunrise. Highly recommend. We will definatley stay here again. Kuddos to Roberta at the front desk for being helpful.

Pros: * Right on the beach * Relatively more affordable than other hotels in the area * The restaurant on site is convenient, delicious, has exceptional service and right on the water with prices being fair (uncommon in Hawaii). 5 stars for the restaurant * They don\'t charge extra for parking Cons: * The hotel is very understaffed - Expect to wait an hour if you are asking for anything (eg - a late checkout or checking in). Also, do not expect to be able to call them. They will put you on hold right when you call and you will be waiting indefinitely (until you hang up). * Not maintained - They don\'t do the maintenance that they should nor do they care. For example, I had to change rooms because I tried to turn my TV on and my TV didn\'t work. From talking to employees, the reason why the building hasn\'t been maintained is because the owner is in construction and is "overwhelmed" by the amount of renovations this motel needs. The hotel is empty during the day because the tenants don\'t want to be in their pool or beach. Overall, if you need an affordable place to sleep only -- this hotel will serve that purpose. If you are looking to "enjoy" your hotel, this is not the place.

ISO was so close to the ocean, you can walk to the ocean from ISO. The ocean view room was so great and amazing, the breezy was great. The pool was large one side is 8 ft deep. The sunrise was magnificent every morning. Shopping is one block away by walking or driving. Very quiet and relaxing.

We loved the location, the proximity to shops, restaurants, the beach etc. We also loved how quiet it was. So many times at the big resorts, there are a lot of screaming children in the pool and ISO was filled with lovely, friendly people all wanting to enjoy a peaceful paradise.

Great stay! Location was convenient and right next to ocean, 15-min drive from Lihue airport, close to lots of restaurants. Great place to relax at night and wake up to sunrise. Price was affordable compared to other resorts in the area.

Thus is a nice place right on the ocean. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this place has it. It did however seem pricey for what you get. The complementary "grab and go" breakfast was lacking. They did not have any hot coffee available. We were surprised by that as were several of the other guests. When asking about it at the front desk, we were told to use the coffee maker in the room. I tend to avoid those things as I have seen some pretty grungy ones over the years. Their coffee maker looked clean, but we opted to walk down the street to Starbucks.

Clean room, it has basic amenities, big bed although it was a bit stiff for me but it was good enough for 2 nights nice view of the pool/ocean and sunrise. Restaurant has great food. I love the free artichoke dip it was the best Mai Tai was really good not too strong alcohol. My main course was their special Spinach meatless wrap and it was excellent.

I liked the location and that you could see the ocean from your balcony. It was so relaxing to wake up and just sit outside and watch the ocean. I do wish they had fresh coffee with cream down in the breakfast area, as the coffee in the room was not very good. Overall, it was good for the price. Rooms are small and nothing fancy, but they were clean.
