Very good location. Staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating. Smaller hotel so room sizes I would say are average. Good breakfast with plenty of options. Dining area gets very busy for breakfast so go early. Parking garage on the same block which is convenient. Grand central terminal within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

My number one reason for staying here is that they have a computer (three of them) which guests can use and they are located in a very quiet area in the basement. This is a MUST for me as I do not use any handheld device.

Visited from Melbourne (Australia) for a week and a half, 2 adults, 1 toddler (2 years old). We couldn't fault our stay at Hampton Inn, had everything we needed! Our room had 2 clean and comdouble beds (16th floor), room was serviced regularly. Good storage and space to move about in our room. Bathroom also clean, ample space, shower had good water pressure and temperature, plenty of towels. It was still very much winter (including snowing on a couple of days) but the room and the hotel in general were well heated. One of the best features was the included breakfast, with a range of hot (eggs, toast) and cold options (cereals, yoghurts, fruits). This made it really easy to find something appropriate for our toddler to eat each morning. It does get busy in the dining area, we tried to go as early as we could but even on days with half an hour before breakfast ended, the staff were still replenishing some of the dishes. Limited gluten free options for toast and cereals etc, but there was almond milk for my husband who is also dairy free. Wifi in the hotel was good, there's a nice gym in the basement level, as well as a little office with a couple of computers and a printer, which I used to do some work. Staff were excellent, helping us find a doctor for our daughter, plus one night when my husband was trying to get her back to sleep in the middle of the night. The area is convenient for walking to major landmarks and we felt safe walking around. Thanks for a great stay!

Ok location. Rooms are clean but small. Ditto bathrooms. Upper floors quiet. No service elevator so getting up and down is slow. Breakfast typical, plentiful if flavorless. Not really cheaper than other properties so if you’re not looking to use or collect points would not be my first choice.

The hotel met expectations and was fine. The lobby could use some sprucing up but the room was adequate as was the gym. The breakfast was basic but there were sufficient options. The breakfast staff , Kimberly and Grace, were excellent. Friendly and helpful people. T are a real asset to the hotel.

Very clean and comfortable hotel in a great location. The staff elevated the stay from standard to excellent. Everyone we encountered, from the breakfast staff, front desk, and cleaning staff, were all extremely friendly and kind, especially to my eight year old son. I'd stay there again simply for the kind people.

Lovely hotel in a really great location. 5 min walk from grand central. Rooms a little dated, but extremely clean and comfortable. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Free safe in room. Would recommend and would definately return. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic too, great choice of juices, cereal, toast, bagels and the biggest hit was the make your own waffles.

I noticed a dead bug on the carpet near the bed. Even after the room was “cleaned” , the bug was still there. I purposely did not report this gross event, becauseI was curious to see how thoroughly the room would be cleaned. Apparently it wasn’t vacuumed. Also, the coffeemaker was issuing a part, so I couldn’t use it to make myself coffee in the evening.

Of the five nights, they did not make our bed, nor did our room be made for three nights. So it was not clean and by the time we arrived it was already night. Breakfast should be more varied, and on different occasions we did not have enough due to guest demand.

All of the staff, especially during the daytime, were super friendly, including the cleaning crew. Breakfast was included, and I noticed to-go boxes available in the morning, which was a nice gesture. The location is great. The rooms are definitely worn and older, and the bed was not the most comfortable, but it worked fine for a quick business trip.

The only two things good about this hotel were the location and the breakfast. The room was too small with no fridge and microwave. If you want to have a fridge, you need to pay ten dollars more daily and I've never seen such a thing before. Upon arrival, they ask you to pay 100 dollars per night incidental and when they ask them about why, you don't get an answer and they just repeated the same sentence like a robot. I know it's a busy and expensive area in New York, but the room was too small even for that area. The front area and the sign of the hotel are left on their own with the area dorty and the sign is always off. Overall, I expected much better service, hospitality, and cleanliness from a hotel with such a high guest rating.

We were on the 18th floor and had no major issues with noise--only some sirens passing by one evening, but nothing disruptive. The room was pretty small and tight for the four of us, but it was perfectly fine for sleeping, with comfortable beds that ensured we all got a good night's rest after busy days exploring the city. While the room could use a few modern updates and refreshes, there was nothing significant enough to complain about--it was clean and functional for our needs. We did encounter a minor hiccup the first couple of nights with housekeeping not providing enough towels and washcloths for all four of us, which was a bit frustrating. However, by the end of the trip, they got it right, and we appreciated that they offer daily housekeeping--a nice touch that's becoming less common these days. The wireless internet worked well and was speedy enough for basic use on our devices, which was great for keeping the kids entertained and planning our days. One standout feature I loved was the in-shower dispensing bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash--not only is this super convenient, but it's also better for the environment by reducing the waste of those tiny plastic bottles. I wish more hotels would adopt this! The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The complimentary breakfast was a highlight, offering a good assortment of hot options like little omelets, meats such as bacon or sausage, and make-your-own waffles.

Good location near Grand Central. All the staff were very nice. The daily breakfast was plentiful. However the rooms are dated and small as stated in other reviews, but being in NYC we didn’t spent a lot of time in the room so it didn’t really bothered us. I would recommend for a family like us with two children.

I had a truly wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Grand Central. The hotel is located in a quiet and safe area, which made me feel very comfortable throughout my trip. Its location is also extremely convenient, with easy access to public transportation and many popular attractions in New York City. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. I was even allowed to check in one hour earlier than the usual time at no extra cost, which I really appreciated after a long journey. The most impressive part of my stay happened after I checked out. I accidentally left my wallet in the hotel room. I contacted the hotel, and the staff quickly found it and kindly arranged to have it mailed back to my home. Their honesty and kindness truly touched me and made me feel valued as a guest. It was an overall pleasant and memorable experience. I will definitely choose this hotel again the next time I visit New York City.

The great service started when I had several issues with my credit card while booking, the staff was so nice about it and still held my reservation and helped me straighten it out when we got there. Mike greeted us and everything was great from then on. All week Asia and Victoria greeted us every time we went through the lobby and they were both so helpful and friendly. They were excited to chat about our NYC experiences. Maria was so patient waiting for us to leave for housekeeping on days we got a late start. The room was smaller than other places we've traveled but there was plenty of room for the 2 of us and this is NYC. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We really enjoyed our stay here and we look forward to coming back!

Fantastic location close to Grand Central Station and with the subway operating 24/7 one can get any where quickly and cheaply. A number of NYC landmarks are also in walking distance. The front desk staff Mike and Victoria were amazing, friendly and helpful. Mike was able to move me to another room when construction noise from the adjacent building was too loud. Victoria was always smiling and open to a quick chat. She made my stay very memorable and if i return to NYC I will definitely return.

There was a member of staff who was unwelcoming and made me feel like an inconvenience to him on my arrival. Did not give any information on the amenities and made me feel very uncomfortable. Not what you want to receive after a long flight from the uk. This gentleman also did not care about his appearance with greasy hair tied back in a bobble. I asked a different member of staff for help the next morning and he was a breath of fresh air. I hope the man in question is challenged about his behaviour and alters his attitude otherwise I think you will start to lose business.

To be honest for the price and location I didn’t expect for the place to be perfect, and it wasn’t the continental breakfast was dried up hash browns and rubber omelets and hard boiled eggs. But the coffee and toast were tasty and the waffles looked good but the line to make waffles was too long to entice me. All of that was to be expected but the thing that actually made me give them a “less than average” rating, was the fact that our toilet never flushed and even after house keeping was made aware and said that she alerted maintence, no one ever came to fix it…. We had a short stay just for the weekend, and we had a lot of things planned soo didn’t have time to call and check on or nag the front desk about it but it with the limited access to bathrooms in NYC as it is it would’ve been really nice have a clean functioning toilet back in our room .. Hampton Inn Grand Central NYC… DO better!!

Good hotel!! Not extremely loud all around, good windows that keep the noise outside. Amenities a little older but all good! Staff was extremely friendly (especially breakfast ladies!!), breakfast was always very good! True continental breakfast with daily changing warm foods.

It was overall nice - the team was kind at the front desk and room was clean and well tailored for our arrival. Breakfast was a little lacking in freshness since we don't eat heavy traditional breakfast food - the fruit was either old or under ripened each day. Coffee was empty on multiple attempts to get it each morning and the hot water was barely luke warm in the morning and evening times.

Breakfast is amazing, more than enough and they keep adding all the time to the buffet constantly. They let us in earlier to the rooms that was awesome. Always have cold water at the lobby. We appreciate that our room was clean up everyday.
