The Tunbridge Wells Hotel

Really lovely stay at the Tunbridge Wells Hotel - location is perfect for dining and shopping and a pay car park just around the corner is very useful - would definitely stay here again

The staff were great, the restaurant and food was good, the hotel is a little tired, my first room was unbearably hot and noisy being on a main road, but they kindly changed me to a different room with aircon, but I had to leave unexpectedly at 05.30 this morning due to an emergency at home and it was really difficult to exit the hotel because the door release button wouldn't work initially! But all ok in the end

Lovely hotel, well looked after, would definitely stay here again. Only negative is no air conditioning in our room just a small fan so it was pretty warm!!

As we were on the top floor it was nicely quiet at night. Very handy location for the high street. Parking was easy. Breakfast was very good. Had a lovely stay.

Lovely, characterful hotel. Stayed in the single room and it was great - had everything needed. It was very hot in the room, but imagine that'll be nice in winter. There are lots of narrow stairs, which makes walking with a suitcase difficult, but the staff member on check-in did offer to carry my luggage to my room. I look forward to staying again.

The hotel is on the main street accessed via a side alley with steps and parking is available across the road. A warm welcome on arrival. We had room 20 which was spacious and had a view onto the bustling Pantiles street area of TW. If you are like us a couple staying overnight for a nice dinner and a few drinks, this is actually a perfect place to stay. On the Sunday morning because we were up early, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel which is à la carte and I must say the coffee was of an excellent standard, akin with Black Sheep, so well done on that front. My partner’s sausage on sourdough was lovely and I had a light Toast/preserves which was also lovely. Service was understated but good. No air con but the fan was surprisingly effective. Enjoyed the stay.

Stayed for 3 nights for a business trip, I chose the hotel mainly as I've been to the area a few times, been quite disappointed with others in the area and wanted a hotel that had a good location for things to do after work. The hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping town, lots of restaurants and bars and train station too and it proved to be perfect for me! The immediate surrounding area of the pantiles was lovely with plenty going on if you don't want to stray far but even though it was busy I didn't get disturved by noise from the town below which was an initial worry, it's very convenient! I was on the Fourth floor, which had lots of stairs and as an old building, it had no lift, this was fine for me but definitely worth taking into account when booking as a special request if you have limited mobility! My room was impeccably clean, I've been in the area many times at other hotels and this hotel was the best by a mile! The coffee supplies, water and towels were changed daily and the bathroom was modern with great shower and bath facilities! I only ate in the restaurant once but found the food to be absolutely delicious and fresh, there was a great varied selection and very reasonably priced for a hotel! The check in/check out process was very smooth and all the staff I met were incredibly friendly and accommodating! 10/10 stay, I will be back again and highly recommend!

The property is old with great characters, these days being given a bath is a bonus, the location is excellent, it is within walking distance of everything, there are beautiful shops, cafes, pubs and parks. The parking is not ideal, (due to our ailments, we are not able to walk very far), with the burden of a big suitcase, it was a struggle, to walk across a busy main street to the hotel, however, the staff are most helpful. One important advice, we have overlooked, with the absence of a lift, being on the 5th floor is no laughing matter. Still recommend it for a short break.

The room is quite small but sufficient. It was cold with a draft from the windows, often rattling in the wind. We also discovered a very large wet patch in the wall and floor in one corner, which we did mention upon check out. This is a major issue that needs addressing. We received an apology but nothing else. Be aware, parking is provided by crossing over a busy road. Also, charged at £10 per day! We ate in the restaurant and I can only provide compliments. The food was fantastic, perfectly served and cooked.

The cleanliness of our room was non existant.

Very central. Spacious room and great staff. Bed was really comfy with crisp sheets and fluffy towels. Unfortunately bathroom was grubby and my feet were filthy after walking around the room!

Quaint well maintained with excellent service from friendly staff. The bathroom was clean and the decor good. I f I have one criticism it is that there was insufficient light in the room.

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough - my room was very comfortable with a huge bed! The bathroom was lovely with a great shower and was spotlessly clean. The pipes do make a lot of noise and the floor is quite wonky but I thought it added to the charm! Everyone was very friendly, and check-in and check-out very speedy. No lift, so if you dont like stairs, request a room on the lower floors.

Very spacious room with all that was required to have a relaxing break. Extremely comfortable bed, gorgeous bath and refreshing shower. Plenty of tea and coffee. There was some outside noise, but we fully expected that when booking a high street hotel on a main road, and it certainly didn’t detract from our stay. Definitely stay again and would spend more time in the hotel, where this time we went to explore the town

It was nice welcoming hotel ,the manager was very attentive,had some food at night was very good ,the room was adequate the mattress was horrendous the springs on one side had gone ,woke up in the morning back was creasing me room was 41

The room facilities are terrible. No shelves for clothes. Ridiculously bad sofa bed, that made every after a nights sleep worse!

An absolute gem of a hotel, super friendly staff, beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, excellent food. We had a lovely overnight stay and appreciated the closeness to parking and the lovely Pantiles area.

Absolutely loved the stay. Staff were amazing, Breakfast was super tasty and great value. Beautiful lounge & bar area. Really enjoyed the Christmas switch on. Christmas huts along the Pantiles.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location for our visit. We stayed on the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel. Comfortable room. Some noise from passing inebriants, but nothing to keep us awake and to be expected in such a busy area. Fantastic restaurants close by and the Assembly hall just a short walk. Would definitely recommend.
