This hotel was amazing. It is so beautiful. There are so many details that added to it like a refrigerator full of beer, soda and other drinks near the pool, a 24 hour coffee stand with little French press to make your own coffee, water from a water cooler. The beds were comfortable. Open air showers on the second floor. The place was decorated so nicely. Hammocks in the rooms and veranda. Beautiful plants all around. It wasn’t too far to walk anywhere in Valladolid. Stay here!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with kind and helpful staff. It felt like we were staying at someone’s beautiful estate, rather than a stuffy hotel. The hotel is filled with locally-made art and is beautifully furnished. Breakfast is made to order and great quality. The pool is small but great for a dip to cool off and the grounds are covered in amazing flowers.

Beautiful pool and courtyard; very helpful and friendly staff; delicious hot breakfast with fresh fruit and coffee. Very convenient location - walkable to many restaurants and tourist attractions. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Posada San Juan to our friends, and would love to return to stay there again.

Excellent accueil à l’arrivée. Beaucoup de services sont disponibles. Les chambres sont spacieuses et décorées avec goût. La piscine est petite mais largement suffisante pour se rafraîchir et jouer avec les enfants. C’est un petit hôtel, assez proche du centre historique, où il y a une certaine promiscuité avec les autres voyageurs présents.

Ruben, the manager and at the front desk was extremely helpful and nice. The entire staff was very friendly. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was awesome. Enjoyed the specialty cocktails. Great stay!

We stayed in building 2 (modern style), just across the square from building 1 (traditional style). It was a short walk to the centre down a pretty street. The room was spacious, quiet and air conditioned with a hammock to relax on. It has an amazing bathroom with a shower that opened onto a little internal outdoor courtyard which we loved. There is netting above to avoid bugs getting in. The staff were lovely and attentive. We were given a choice of building and a map of the local area with lots of suggestions. I believe you can go on private tours with the hotel too. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, with coffee, tea and juice. You could also help yourself to some toast and banana cake. The pool area had complimentary soft drinks, water and snacks, with alcohol available for an extra fee. There were other areas outside each room with seating and hammocks for relaxing outside. We wish we could have stayed an extra night. This was our favourite hotel on our two-week trip. Take care not to arrive at Hotel Casa San Juan instead of Hotel Posada San Juan like we did. Google maps only showed the former and didn’t state Casa/Posada, and it is difficult to walk between the two with luggage as there are narrow or non-existent paths and traffic.

Posada San Juan is situated in 2 separate buildings located across a quiet plaza from each other. The grounds at each building are very well mainatined and provide a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle just a few blcoks away. Our superior room was spacious with a king-size bed and a very large bathroom with nice amenities. Breakfast is included and is very good (and can be made to order upon request). The hotel is about 5 blocks from the main plaza in Valladolid. In retrospect, we would have liked to have been a little closer to the action, but the location is ideal for those looking for a bit more peace and quiet while staying in Valladolid. We had a very nice 1-night stay.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff members were friendly and helpful, guiding us to some very nice and uncrowded sites, including a wonderful cenote out of town. The pool and courtyard area is lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We regretted leaving.

We loved our stay here. The hotel, is so peaceful, clean and beautifully traditional. The food is delicious, very wholesome and made of natural ingredients to order. All the staff were so helpful and work hard to please. However a big shout out to Noemi who has gone above and beyond her job to organise forgotten laundry to be returned to us. She has been so lovely and helpful.

While the hotel was lovely, it was not worth $300 a night. No real restaurant or bar, no one working reception in the mornings, no generator when the power goes out, and the a/c really struggled to work, etc And the construction on the road outside the hotel was so loud and intense it was vibrating and throwing dust all over the hotel. It really should not be open during this construction period. It went from 7am until almost 8pm every night

Gabriel, the manager and his staff were amazing! We had delicious meals served. Highly recommend the house special egg scramble. We took a tour of Ek Balam with Senor Juan who was highly informative. After the tour we spent the afternoon at the hotel’s private cenote (a bit aways from the hotel) and it was simply breathtaking. Our guide Santiago took great care of our family and super nice! Virginia came along as well to the cenote and made us a special meal there. Don’t miss this and just book this tour.

The staff, essentially Ruben, were very kind and attentive. Ruben organized a day tour of Ek' Balam for us, and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about the Mayan cultural. I highly recommend taking the tour with Juan. The city offers many restaurants, bars & shopping.

While the hotel was lovely, it was not worth $300 a night. No real restaurant or bar, no one working reception in the mornings, no generator when the power goes out, and the a/c really struggled to work, etc And the construction on the road outside the hotel was so loud and intense it was vibrating and throwing dust all over the hotel. It really should not be open during this construction period. It went from 7am until almost 8pm every night

Ruben, the manager and at the front desk was extremely helpful and nice. The entire staff was very friendly. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was awesome. Enjoyed the specialty cocktails. Great stay!

Quiero felicitar a todo el equipo de Hotel Posada San Juan en Valladolid, Yucatán. El 17 de agosto llegamos y el servicio, atención y amabilidad del staff fue EXCELENTE. Mismo caso para cuando salimos el 18 de agosto, ese día nos atendió el Señor Gabriel Pott a la hora del desayuno quien además nos dio una plática de lugares, comida, rutas a donde visitar en la Península que fueron ESPECTACULAR!!! El Señor Pott una finísima persona que ama su cultura y sus raíces con un nivel de servicio que debería de recibir un premio a nivel nacional, es un orgullo, un honor el poder haber coincidido con el Señor Gabriel porque de hecho elegimos el Cenote que nos recomendó, y la ruta que tomamos hacia Progreso y nos permitió conocer más sobre la gran riqueza y belleza de la península de Yucatán. Nunca olvidaremos la platica con el Señor Gabriel Pott, fue como si nos hubiera abierto una puerta a la grandeza y magnificencia del mundo Maya en una plática... We had a very pleasant 2 night stay. Building 2 of the hotel is beautifully designed and a perfect sanctuary in busy Valladolid. We especially appreciated Gabriel’s genuine warm welcome and assistance. One detail left us surprised at the end: we were told we could leave a small load of laundry into be done. So we did. What we weren’t told is that the price would be exorbitant. The bill we received was itemized, and claimed that I had 12 dresses (I had zero), that we had 7 pairs of pants (there was 1 pair of workout leggings), etc. The bill amounted to the equivalent of 40 US dollars. There was some back and forth, the staff insisted that the bill was correct, and in the end we were offered a 15% discount on the itemized bill. We paid it and left Valladolid with a tainted view of an otherwise very nice stay. So stay, eat, enjoy - just don’t do laundry!

We loved our stay here. The hotel, is so peaceful, clean and beautifully traditional. The food is delicious, very wholesome and made of natural ingredients to order. All the staff were so helpful and work hard to please. However a big shout out to Noemi who has gone above and beyond her job to organise forgotten laundry to be returned to us. She has been so lovely and helpful.

Hotel Posada San Juan is a charming place. Our room was lovely and comfortable, including a hammock. The location was great, on a fun neighborhood square where we watched a local dance group practice traditional dances. It was an easy walk to the main town square. We wish we would have stayed there longer!

We stayed in building 2 (modern style), just across the square from building 1 (traditional style). It was a short walk to the centre down a pretty street. The room was spacious, quiet and air conditioned with a hammock to relax on. It has an amazing bathroom with a shower that opened onto a little internal outdoor courtyard which we loved. There is netting above to avoid bugs getting in. The staff were lovely and attentive. We were given a choice of building and a map of the local area with lots of suggestions. I believe you can go on private tours with the hotel too. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, with coffee, tea and juice. You could also help yourself to some toast and banana cake. The pool area had complimentary soft drinks, water and snacks, with alcohol available for an extra fee. There were other areas outside each room with seating and hammocks for relaxing outside. We wish we could have stayed an extra night. This was our favourite hotel on our two-week trip. Take care not to arrive at Hotel Casa San Juan instead of Hotel Posada San Juan like we did. Google maps only showed the former and didn’t state Casa/Posada, and it is difficult to walk between the two with luggage as there are narrow or non-existent paths and traffic.

Posada San Juan is situated in 2 separate buildings located across a quiet plaza from each other. The grounds at each building are very well mainatined and provide a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle just a few blcoks away. Our superior room was spacious with a king-size bed and a very large bathroom with nice amenities. Breakfast is included and is very good (and can be made to order upon request). The hotel is about 5 blocks from the main plaza in Valladolid. In retrospect, we would have liked to have been a little closer to the action, but the location is ideal for those looking for a bit more peace and quiet while staying in Valladolid. We had a very nice 1-night stay.

Un séjour extraordinaire!! L'hôtel est tout simplement magnifique. Le staff est chaleureux et attentionné. Bravo à toute l'équipe! Un salut spécial à Gabriel pour sa gentillesse et sa bonne humeur! Ainsi qu'une mention spéciale à Ruben pour ses bons conseils en matière de restaurants locaux et de cénotes loins des touristes! Le petit déjeuner de l'hôtel, un buffet froid et/ou un déjeuner chaud est tout simplement délicieux! Le café est délicieux et les enfants ont beaucoup aimé le pain aux bananes et les pan cakes! D'ailleurs, nous avons mangé au restaurant de l'hôtel deux soirs et c'était également très bon et les prix sont justes. De plus, nous avons profité de la piscine un après-midi ensoleillé avec des drinks et les prix sont, encore une fois, très modestes! Nous y étions pendant l'ouragan Béryl et le staff étaient aux petits soins avec nous!! Rien de négatif à mentionner. Nous y retournerons sans faute dans l'éventualité d'un deuxième séjour! On s'ennuie déjà de vous!

This kettle hotel is great for families with kids! They have a small pool and toys to entertain the kiddos. It’s also a very quaint place near a plaza and not far from the main square. All their staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was included and it was delicious. Highly recommend this hotel.
