We enjoyed our weekend stay at Orange Village and would consider staying there again. The location was nice, walking distance from spots like Union Square and Chinatown and close to transit lines/stops. We stayed in a 2 Twin Bed with Private Bathroom room, it was good. The room’s temperature was very warm, even with the window opened at night and a fan on, it was hard to stay cool. The room was clean, though it could use some repairs and TLC in some areas. Overall, traffic/city noise was tolerable. The kitchen had free breakfast every morning (though little to no vegan options). Another big bonus was that our room had a microwave and mini fridge.

The people were nice and they served breakfast daily. The area outside the hotel has a fair amount of stragglers is what it seemed like inside, things are good. It's a older building, but they do a good job of cleaning And keeping the facilities in good shape. Breakfast consists of toasts, waffles, coffee, yogurt, and a few choices of cereal. I picked the waffles and the eggs. Overall, this is a perfect place if you want to spend a good amount of time outside, with pretty decent accommodations. But I wouldn't say you would just be camping out in the room. You could, but why would you.

We stayed here for 4 nights, and we were three girls. We loved this place, and it was in such a convenient location that we never felt unsafe! One thing to note is that the place does not provide plates, oil, salt pepper. Great overall.

Unique and convenient. A very central location. Very reasonable and excellent amenities for the price. During the day neighborhood great but stay in at night. Hostel is very safe and only 4 to a room.

The hostel itself is top notch. Staff is excellent. Cleaning staff always on scene. Kitchen is great. Check in and check out is a breeze. Problem is the area is loaded with homeless and zombies. If you need to stay in that part of the city you won’t get any better. If not, find somewhere with a better area.

Not recommended. Worst place I've ever stayed. It says it has parking available, but they don't. Finally, parking plus the hostel was pricier than a better place to stay. Front desk rude.

We enjoyed our stay at Orange Village hostel. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel seemed well run. The free breakfast was basic but plentiful, and much appreciated. The hostel could use a bit of a refresh (new paint, better windows that don’t stick and the toilets were too sensitive and clogged easily). The surrounding neighbourhood felt safer than expected. The hostel was quiet - no loud parties or neighbouring hostellers carousing until all hours 😆 The shared kitchen (and microwave and mini fridge in the room) gave us the opportunity to reduce the number of meals ate out in restaurants, which is helpful in an expensive city like San Francisco

WAY better than expected!! Private room with 2 twin beds and bathroom. We had a window to keep room cool. We faced O'Farrell so street noise was loud. Hopefully there is a special place in hell for car alarm owners or Harley riders. Great valley. Public transportation is close. Tenderloin is a couple of blocks west so it can mostly be avoided. Would stay again

Hostel is well located, walking distance to most of the main attractions in downtown; but it’s extremely noisy. Unfortunately, my experience was not completely positive. Maybe if you room is indoors and not face the street you can catch up some sleep.

I took the BART from the airport to the hostel, arriving at about 8am, after a 14-hour flight. The staff organised for an early check in at noon. They were friendly and helpful. Received good advice on how to get to a Giant's game and book tickets - my ticket was $19 and the guy next to me paid $120 - all due to OVH staff. Great breakfast and good company. Well done.

Iwas in one room with three other people. One of them was a problem. He had mental issues and would wake us up in the middle of the night cussing and hating people. One of the guys staying there left. He couldn't take it. the other guy from Jamaica and I complained to the front desk. They moved me to a better room which was fantastic and only one other person in the room. That person and I became friends for life. I totally had a great stay after the experience with the mental person. I guess we all come from different ways of life, different strokes.

The room was ok, especially for an old facility. My first encounter was a young lady at the front desk who was rude and answered my questions as though I should already know things. The rest of the staff were friendly. The cleaning crew were kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hotel was conveniently located.

The hostel itself is top notch. Staff is excellent. Cleaning staff always on scene. Kitchen is great. Check in and check out is a breeze. Problem is the area is loaded with homeless and zombies. If you need to stay in that part of the city you won’t get any better. If not, find somewhere with a better area.

Not recommended. Worst place I've ever stayed. It says it has parking available, but they don't. Finally, parking plus the hostel was pricier than a better place to stay. Front desk rude.

I was overcharged $107. Manager refused to refund my money. I told her multiple times i booked thru hotels.com and already paid my booking with credit card. They made me pay cash too and refused to refund. This woman should not be allowed to manage business.

WAY better than expected!! Private room with 2 twin beds and bathroom. We had a window to keep room cool. We faced O'Farrell so street noise was loud. Hopefully there is a special place in hell for car alarm owners or Harley riders. Great valley. Public transportation is close. Tenderloin is a couple of blocks west so it can mostly be avoided. Would stay again

The people were nice and they served breakfast daily. The area outside the hotel has a fair amount of stragglers is what it seemed like inside, things are good. It's a older building, but they do a good job of cleaning And keeping the facilities in good shape. Breakfast consists of toasts, waffles, coffee, yogurt, and a few choices of cereal. I picked the waffles and the eggs. Overall, this is a perfect place if you want to spend a good amount of time outside, with pretty decent accommodations. But I wouldn't say you would just be camping out in the room. You could, but why would you.

They give you one flat sheet and a small, thin towel. The rooms are small and there is no AC. They do provide a fan. Breakfast is barebones and the kitchen is rather crowded. Very perfunctory which was fine because I was only staying one night.
