Villa Mentone Hotel

This was a find of the best kind. Positioned adjacent to the esplanade & overlooking the beach from a ‘cliff top’ position, it was better than I expected. I had a small double room with view from a side window which I thought might mean I would have to press my nose against the window but it was a fabulous view of the beach & Shanklin Chine area, as well as the town & beyond to the other side. I watched the sun set over the downs. Salma & her staff were friendly & kind, nothing was too much trouble. The meals, breakfast was full English with good selection of cereals plus cooked food, & dinner, oh my, I chose the sea bass which came with vegetables & it was the best I have tasted! Sunday mornings breakfast was serenaded by a Chap playing the piano, the dining area was either in or next to a conservatory across the entire front of the building overlooking the sea. I’d definitely come again. Oh, & there’s free parking on site!

My second stay at this lovely hotel the owner and the amazing staff could not do enough for us felt more like family and the owner recognised me from my last stay which was lovely so welcoming and well run clean lovely room with a view of the sea a comfortable bed breakfast had everything you could want we will be back next year

Great location right near the loft down to the beach (£1 return). The views are amazing and rooms modern and feel recently refurbished. We stayed in room 103 with balcony and side sea view. The shower was hot and plentiful with tea making facilities and iron with board. We had a great stay Thank for helping with cases

A very well run hotel with most aspect being excellent. Clean, comfortable room, decent crockery and consistent food quality. Very few negatives but the stairs carpet could have seen service in Pompeii, it was that old and seemingly dirty. A lift would be nice in a 5 story hotel but may be difficult given the age and design of the building. Overall, a lovely stay

the breakfast menu was fresh and very nice.
