We were travelling to the ferry so stayed 1 night. The ferry took a few minutes to get to so an excellent location. You can walk to the town and Quay which was nice after a long drive. Evening meal was lovely, hot and inexpensive. The staff were all exceptionally helpful. The room was really clean and the bed very comfortable. Easy to park with plenty of spaces. Our room was on the front of the building so facing the main road. There is a 24/7 A&E a bit further down the road, the noise was ok once we closed the double glazing. There was some noise in the room from, I assume an extractor fan. That was the only downside. It was suitable for us for 1 or 2 nights.

Given we were there during the cold snap in December the bar and dining area were not quite warm enough , likewise the bedroom with it's secondary glazing and the bathroom decor was a little tired , but the bed was excellent . The main meals were predictable and alright but the breakfasts were really good and the staff were brilliant - friendly and helpful and offered to have some food ready outside of normal hours for my sister in-law whose flight from Spain was delayed . Thanks very much to all of them .

Very basic facilities and very expensive fir a single room. Double glazing units had broken down and therefore misted through. Definitely not suitable for mobility disabled people, which I learned to my cost.

The staff upon arrival and throughout my stay were polite and friendly, an assets to the Marston's chain. The room was clean and had everything you needed. The Shower had good consistent water pressure.

The black mould in the shower cubicle & ceiling was really bad, which is a shame, because if they bothered to sort this out, the bedroom was OK, staff friendly, plenty of free on-site parking. With the condition of the bathroom, the rooms are priced too high.

Food was cooked well and was nice. The decor in the bedroom was modern and nice. The bathroom however wasnt good at all. The hot water tap that couldnt be turned on or off constantly running and has limescal marks so it has been like that for a long time. Shower was good but not clean and there was black mold all over the ceiling. The out of date soap in tubs were just hanging around as all the dispensers were broke. The bathroom bin was broken. The cups were stuck to the tea try with sugar milk. I wouldnt return here but there were also some positives and my negative points may not bother other people. Its definately not enviro friendly there were some radiators were the thermostat wasnt there anymore and was pumping heat out. There is an escape door at the back of the hotel were you could go out to smoke if you wanted but nothing to put used cigarettes in so they were on the floor. I struggled sleeping cos of a noisy neighbour but thats no reflection on the hotel

Breakfast unavailable as we were leaving early. Room was clean and quite spacious even with extra bed for kids put in it. Main bed was huge, but the matress was uncomfortable, not supportive at all. Plenty of pillows, bedding was nice. Bathroom was very poor, floor looks like a public toilets floor, one of the taps was broken, shower had bits of black mould around the rim. Had dinner in the pub, on a Sunday night before Christmas, the menu was very limited, no festive options, unless pre-ordered. Being Martons pub, we were unpleasantly surprised there was only one ale available. Bar floor sticky, whole restaurant area had unpleasant smell. Food was taking forever to come out, to the point me and kids left the pub and went to our room, leaving husband behind to wait for their dessert to come. Food was nice enough, on a average side. Staff was very nice, that was the only positive.

The building exterior was not up to the standard of the photos. The room was fair however the bathroom was very poor condition with the amount of black mould. The room had secondary glazing but as you couldn't close the outside windows the effect of the secondary glazing was almost non existent. The premises are on a busy cross roads and that together with a noisy extractor through the room meant a poor night sleep. We were up early and left.

We stayed here as it was a short walk to Poole hospital where we were visiting an old lady. The accommodation is very much a Pub. No soft seating, only tables and chairs. The food was typical pub food, but OK. The room was a decent size, but the bathroom had mould on the ceiling. The shower was good and the water was hot. The TV did not work and there was no fridge. For what we paid, we still thought it was good value. Definitely not 4 star. It was basic pub accommodation and food.

Had a lovely stay, staff were really nice and friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The shower leaked onto the floor a bit and the wash basin was stained and there was a strange damp smell in the hallway down to the bar which was a shame. I think the carpet could do with being replaced out there. Other than that it was a really nice stay and we would come back again.

This was a room above the pub. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. I was in room 8 and one of the windows was directly above the noisy air vent coming from the kitchens, so I had to shut the window. The vent was turned off about 9:15pm, but it was back on again at 7am. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This was my second Marstons pub stay in a week. I've always stayed in them over the years, on par with Premier Inn and sometimes even better. However, the rooms seem to be extremely tired these days, looks like minimal investment since Covid and found them very tired looking and such a shame. Stayed for 2 x nights but room was not cleaned inbetween, not an issue for us, apart from the fact that we didn't get our coffee replenished (good coffee, Nescafe Gold Blend, but 2 x stick packs and 2 x decaff), they were gone first morning with two of us staying. Room was uncomfortably hot, no air conditioning.... had a fan but, it didn't blow any air around, we should've complained but was too hot to be bothered and didn't think they'd have a spare anyway. Lovely staff though!

Nice hotel, unfortunately by a busy main road. Food and staff are lovely however the windows in the rooms could do with being double glazed, it is quite loud when traffic is going past, especially on a hot day and the windows are open.

Bedroom was right near a busy road, windows had to be closed thus making the room hot and stuffy even with a fan. Bathroom was a little tired and the toilet didnt flush well plus shower base didnt flow away so flooded floor. Bed was missing a foot so we felt like our legs were higher than ourheads

Room was small and too hot for comfortable sleep. Bar food OK but nothing special. However, staff are brilliant, pub excellent and breakfast (and the lady who served it) very excellent! Location seems a nice and safe area too.

Whilst the actual stay was generally acceptable, we had SERIOUS issue concerning our return booking 11/12 June (Ref. 73064796017052). Upon booking this return we pre-contacted the manager who confirmed that our late ferry arrival circa 11:30pm could accomodate late access, given prior notice. However the manager 3/4th June would/ could not re-confirm late access availability, nor communicate this for/to the later manager even with prior notice. A company administration/ communication customer failure. We then cancelled our return booking to a welcoming alternative hotel who had no such isssue !!! Won't visit Shah of Persia again.

The staff were friendly, helpful, approachable and attentive. They were very hard working. A credit to the team. The food was reasonably priced and was very tasty. Would definitely return and would definitely recommend. Thank you. Location: 20 minutes walk into town and a couple of minutes from the bus stop. Very convenient.

We were travelling to the ferry so stayed 1 night. The ferry took a few minutes to get to so an excellent location. You can walk to the town and Quay which was nice after a long drive. Evening meal was lovely, hot and inexpensive. The staff were all exceptionally helpful. The room was really clean and the bed very comfortable. Easy to park with plenty of spaces. Our room was on the front of the building so facing the main road. There is a 24/7 A&E a bit further down the road, the noise was ok once we closed the double glazing. There was some noise in the room from, I assume an extractor fan. That was the only downside. It was suitable for us for 1 or 2 nights.

The staff were friendly, helpful, approachable and attentive. They were very hard working. A credit to the team. The food was reasonably priced and was very tasty. Would definitely return and would definitely recommend. Thank you. Location: 20 minutes walk into town and a couple of minutes from the bus stop. Very convenient.

Nice hotel, unfortunately by a busy main road. Food and staff are lovely however the windows in the rooms could do with being double glazed, it is quite loud when traffic is going past, especially on a hot day and the windows are open.

Bedroom was right near a busy road, windows had to be closed thus making the room hot and stuffy even with a fan. Bathroom was a little tired and the toilet didnt flush well plus shower base didnt flow away so flooded floor. Bed was missing a foot so we felt like our legs were higher than ourheads

Breakfast unavailable as we were leaving early. Room was clean and quite spacious even with extra bed for kids put in it. Main bed was huge, but the matress was uncomfortable, not supportive at all. Plenty of pillows, bedding was nice. Bathroom was very poor, floor looks like a public toilets floor, one of the taps was broken, shower had bits of black mould around the rim. Had dinner in the pub, on a Sunday night before Christmas, the menu was very limited, no festive options, unless pre-ordered. Being Martons pub, we were unpleasantly surprised there was only one ale available. Bar floor sticky, whole restaurant area had unpleasant smell. Food was taking forever to come out, to the point me and kids left the pub and went to our room, leaving husband behind to wait for their dessert to come. Food was nice enough, on a average side. Staff was very nice, that was the only positive.

Lovely large family room with very comfortable beds. We had a continental breakfast which was very yummy. The staff were excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The pub itself is a little tired but I would still highly recommend staying here for trips to Poole.
