This property shows what can be done with an old road side motel and excellent taste. Property was beautifully redone. A friendly atmosphere with gracious host. The rooms are small, but spotless. Breakfast was not much, but the coffee was good. A simple layover while waiting for the ferry. I will be back.

Very good place to stay for the price. Clean and up dated. The breakfast was small but ok. The only problem we had was the pool didn't open until 11 am. It needs to open at 9 am so you can use it before you check out.

I knew it was going to be a budget motel but the AC in our room didn't work. The outdoor pool is a nice feature but there was an bad ant infestation right next to the stairs to get into the pool and the hot tub was barely warm. Check in was speedy, the room was clean.

Friendly, helpful staff. One thing that I did not like is the pool opens at checkout time. The snack machine is older than me and it works sometimes. Sometimes it just takes your money.

Mold in bathroom. Floor in bathroom dirty. Whole room was damp, musty. AC unit/fan did not run continuous. Breakfast was coffee, bananas which are fine and there was toast plus muffins. Sunny D and yogurt, too. So, in other words it was ok.

The room upon entering looked clean & for the most part was; however the bathroom was not. There was hair & dust where it looked like they had wiped the tub but left the dirt on the top of it. The bottom of tub looked dirty. Could’ve been stained. There was also a rather large black spider in there; luckily my husband found him not me! He may have come from the mounding pulled away from the wall. The bed was very hard & towels were dirty looking.

After checking in, the room we were given was very small and the carpet was filthy. We were given another one which was quite spacious, bed was comfortable but carpet still dirty and the air conditioning was quite noisy, even on low setting, actually there was only one setting. Rates were very low so you get what you pay for. Brand new Comfort inn next door so would definitely look into staying there next time we visit the area.

They are under new management. Not as friendly as the original owners. The light switch didn't work in one area of the room. The light switch was hard to find in the dark bathroom. The fan didn't work in the bathroom making it very steamy after a shower. The continental breakfast was so minimal. Tubs are stained & old. The grounds were nice. Spacious rooms. Things need to be fixed & updated.

Our room had an infestation of Bedbugs (full grown to larvae). We contacted the front desk at 10:30pm to let them know. They kept telling us they were no bugs. We showed them pictures then brought them to the room to show them in person. They finally offered us another room, but upon inspection found the mattress to be stained and gross and questionable whether there were larvae. We said we'd rather leave and find another hotel. They finally agreed to refund our money. I would not stay here again.

This place was disgusting. The poor receptionist showed us multiple rooms- each was just gross. Every room had a dirty carpet. Some smelled of weed and/or cigarette smoke, one had a dirty bathroom. Another smelled so heavily of mildew and mold. We ended up leaving and paying for a room at the Comfort Inn. I will never recommend Viking Arms Inn to anyone, and am frankly shocked that Expedia allows this place to advertise through them.

The bathroom was dirty the floor has not been mopped in a while. Walls were dirty in there and vents clogged with dust. I had to wash off the table where we ate at. You could see dried up rings where maybe a can had sat.

Shower is tiny! Water pressure is great but for a large bathroom space i dont know why the shower is so small. Nice, clean, quiet place thats great for an overnight or weekend. Not modern but not rundown, just nice mid priced stay.

The location, landscaping, amenities, and pool are awesome. The staff is very kind. The rooms are decent sized and have, microwaves, refrigerators & coffee makers. The only reason they aren't getting a 5 start review is because the beds are the worst we have ever slept on. It's like a cheap matress sitting on plywood. We both struggled for 3 nights straight this trip and 3 nights 4 weeks ago in the jaccuzi room. We gave them a second chance in case it was just one room with a bad mattress. Unfortunately, until they upgrade the mattresses, we won't be back.

When I checked in on Thursday the clerk was waiting on another family and she did the most amazing job getting their room/reservation straightened out. She was patient and friendly and was great at problem solving. Then it was my turn, she did a fantastic job checking us in, no problems or issues. We’ll definitely stay there again.

We got there around 9:30 It was clean. They only give you towels,no washcloths. There is only a standing shower, It is outdated. They have some things so you can connect your cellphones. The breakfast was yogurt,banana,toast,a very small muffin & coffee that you took back to your room. After I left about a hour & a half later they call stating they have a photo of me smoking in the room.Which I went back to the motel & I ask to see the photo which she reply the housekeeper hasn't sent it. Then she states the room smelt bad. How do you take a picture of a bad smelling room. I told her we went to the bathroom. But I didn't smoke in there. She says we'll I not going to change you. It ruin the rest of our trip.I feel like I was being scammed. For what I paid for the room ,I don't think it was worth it. Th property was clean

The front desk called my room twice at 10:50 pm waking up my family only to ask us if we had a white car (we don't). Apparently there was a white car parked in the wrong spot and instead of just improvising they decided to call rooms on the loud room phone late at night and ask if they were parked in the wrong spot. It was beyond inconsiderate and unprofessional, i will never stay here again and would recommend others not to stay here as well.

We really liked this motel. The owners were a kind family who allowed us to use their personal water hose to rinse off our kayak. These owners have really made a nice motel business here.

We actually didn’t stay at the hotel. However, I was very impressed with the hotel. The ferry broke down and we had to delay our trip by a day. They allowed us to reschedule our non refundable no changes reservation. Then they allowed us to do it again the next night as the Ferry was delayed twice.

The Viking Arms was a pleasant surprise. It appears to have been recently renovated and everything was clean and well maintained. Nice landscaping, complete with gazebo. Fresh, clean room with comfortable beds. Equipped with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Being able to park in front of the room was a treat. Breakfast was very basic and was designed to "dash and dine." Carry out items (yogurt, fruit, granola bars, coffee) were available; no seating. The front office was never attended and the owners were nowhere to be seen. The room was so nice and clean that I would definitely stay here again.

Convenient but on the main road so noisy. Needs up-dating. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom needs a coat of paint-cabinet was old, peeling wood. Tub did not drain. Room's carpet was relatively new but needed a good cleaning. Light from the hall and room next door seeped under the doors. The "grab and go " breakfast was not good. We hit McDonalds' on the way out of town.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. We only needed a bed and shower. This place was perfect for just what we needed. There was a grab and go station in the morning. Just not great coffee, juice, yogurt and some muffins. But I wasn't there to have breakfast we went to Old Hamlin for that. Such great food! The bed was super comfortable the shower was hot the toilet flushed. The pool was there and open with spa. We didn't use it but it looked nice. Mia checked us in, she was super friendly and helpful. The will experience was an A .

This is a newly remodeled inn, and it is very nice! It's very clean, beds are very comfortable and the pool is beautiful and clean! The owners take very good care of the property, including having beautiful flowers. Don't count on breakfast here, as it is meager. But overall, a very nice stay!
