Unfortunately when we were there they were doing a massive remodeling project in the halls restaurant front desk pool area. It definitely affected our stay. We had a balcony room which cost more but we were happy with the view and the fact that it was in a more private area of the hotel.

Never told even at check in the hotel was under construction. Fitness center closed which my husband need for his Parkinson’s disease would have stay at VRBO if I knew that. Room was ok bed was not that comfortable which is unlike Hiltons the halls smaller due to construction.Restaurant is really a cafe with limited menu.

We could not use the bar or restaurant due to rennovations and had to go Next door to the Marriot to purchase food and be able to sit down. The pool was sequestered from everything and it felt like the freeway was on top of our heads it was so close.

Quite disappointing that a so-called waterfront hotel has no view of the river, if you don’t have a riverview room. Unfortunately, we had a room with a parking-lot view which was not worth the price. The rooftop terrace, one of the reasons I booked this hotel, was closed for no obvious reason. If you want to go to the historic district, you have to order an Uber, since the hotel doesn‘t offer a shuttle (like the hotel next door) and public transportation is not available.

Asked if I would be willing to change type of room I reserved since they needed it. We agreed. When we entered room there was dead roach on the floor and what looked like dead roach parts and oil stains on the bathroom tile. I called desk and someone came and swept and mopped. We slept with the light on both nights to kept bugs away Cost was high compared to the quality and upkeep of the property

No soap in attached dispensers, room not cleaned well, there were long hairs on floor in bathroom, dirty carpet, could hear full conversation of room beside us, people were loud in halls, someone was drilling after 9:30 pm we could hear over the tv. Had to move rooms since outside door wouldn’t lock. Hard to get in & out of hotel with traffic

Had a terrible room assignment. View of rooftop air conditioners/emergency generators, next to elevators, ice machine and housekeeping storeroom. Friends with us all had a marina view. When questioned, hotel said since I booked through a third party (hotels.com), I would need to pay a fee to upgrade to a better room. They were punishing me for not booking directly through them. Bed was not comfortable at all.

Hilton Waterfront was the perfect palette for our mom/daughter weekend! Lovely pool to relax in. Easy and low cost Uber's into Charleston and back. ($5 per ride). Gorgeous room with patio to view the fountain and Marina! Early check-in request was honored as well. Thanks very much!!

Stayed at this hotel over the weekend with my mother and daughter. Paid $1000 for two nights and the hotel was very disappointing. Found the staff at check-in to be less than stellar. I was never given a parking pass, the room was not cleaned after the first night, fresh towels were never brought to the room, or the dirty ones picked up. And even though I paid extra for the pet fee because the hotel was pet friendly… My dog was kicked out of the hotel lobby area by one of the staff members. I could have stayed at a Holiday Inn or an Econolodge, and had the same type of stay for a fraction of the price. I have always put Hilton Hotels up on a pedestal, but this one is rock bottom.

We have stayed a few days. Price changes constantly. We expect that but we get different info on where to get best rate. Staff has been great except woman who checked us in this stay. First name started with E. They are doing extensive renovations and place is a mess. Everyone else was thankful for business and apologizing for mess except this woman.

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. There were some guests in front of me that had gave them a good run for their money with unusually demanding requests and theu handled.it spectacularly. The hotel is in a good location. Close to downtown but within a quick uber ride away. The free parking garage is amazing. The hotel is clean, well-appointed and restaurant is good for breakfast and dinner. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Charleston

Rooftop was closed entire time we were there. The waterfront looked accessable from photos but there was none. Also the breakfast service was 20 min or more late everyday. Price for said service was 18 dollars per person. Food often sat out before service. It was ok but we hoped for better. Free parking was nice. Ended up paying more than expected. Price quoted in app was not price I got.

The location is incredible: right on the water for gorgeous views, and within walking distance of downtown/historic Charleston. The breakfast buffet was the best we've had at a hotel! And the staff was very nice about letting us use the omelet fixings for our scrambled eggs. The coffee was good too, and we are picky! The whole hotel is clean, light, and visually appealing. The only minor comment I would make is to jazz up the rooftop bar (another GREAT selling point for the hotel!), but I understand that will be taken care of in the upcoming renovation. Can't wait to see it next time we come visit from Massachusetts!

Everything was 5 stars. Rooftop bar was lovely. This hotel was on the harbor and we did need to drive downtown but it was a 5 minute drive so no big deal. The hotel was undergoing dining room renovation but the kitchen was still open and provided room service and also to the rooftop bar. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel!

We visited from out of state and since the name is ‘downtown’ we expected it to be closer to the main downtown tourist area but the view was incredible! The only negative I felt was the restaurant doesn’t serve lunch. There was severe weather one day and we were stuck in the room and not having lunch options other than overpriced snacks was frustrating. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel.

Reception staff and kitchen and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Purchasing drinks throughout our stay was easy and convenient. Breakfast and coffee in the morning and bar in the evening was very nice. The rooftop bar is beautiful but seemed like hardly anyone was using it when we checked it out. Would be nice if it was open later than 9:00 on the weekdays though. Overall a good location and nice hotel
