Great place for the money. Of all the hotels on University this is easily the cleanest and best kept. Getting in and out may be the only issue but as long as you're careful it's not an issue

The desk clerk was incredibly gracious and tried to do what she could to make the stay a good one. That being said, the room itself was not even furnished with a small bar of soap, it had one half box of cheap tissue, the bedroom floor was filthy, the bedside desk handle was tacky, the shower ran burning hot or cold without warning, there's no air conditioning just a circulating fan and I was there for two nights and didn't have any maid service provided. When I spoke with the clerk at the main desk she told me that they have made service every 3 days and then offered me towels and asked if there was anything she could do for me. As I stated in the beginning of this review the desk clerk was amazing and as helpful as she could be but the condition of that Motel I'll never be back

Staff were very friendly and room seemed clean overall (except for mold/dirt around bathroom window frame). This is a very basic, old-fashioned motel in a not-so-nice part of Berkeley. It was fine for a one night stay for a good price. Free parking was a plus.

Front desk was very friendly. Light bulb in lamp wasn't working. We called the front desk and within minutes someone was there to fix it. Very clean and comfortable bed! Would stay here again.

Nice staff at this family run motel BUT thin walls and noisy neighbors next door and above made for a sleepless night. Unfortunately, as nice as they were they would not offer any kind of deal after such a rough night. This alone will keep me from ever staying again. Disappointed for sure.

Nice-sized room, very clean with a nicely finished bathroom. The fan they provide helps make up for the noisy nearby street and the lack of A/C. Comfy bed. A good budget option if you’re not overly sensitive to noise.

Consistently good place to stay, which is reasonably priced. Unfortunately, this time the Wi-Fi wasn’t working. Since I had work that needed Wi-Fi, I had to leave my hotel and cannot work in the evenings. Hopefully they fix that before I return next time.

Amenities are very good -- large screen cable tv, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Many electrical outlets for your rechargers. Hot water is very hot and there's a lot of it. Front desk provided free soap, shampoo, and coffee for the coffee maker. Hotel is right on the main bus line, the 51B. Also near a major shopping area on 4th Street. Wall heater was malfunctioning and upon being informed, they replaced it with a new one immediately. Excellent experience in every way.

Very nice family run motel, very clean, and fantastic stuff. Hairdryer did not work in our room, needs to be fixed. Otherwise, we had a great stay. The motel is a bit on the outskirts of Berkeley, it is a 5-10 min drive to downtown, so need a car definitely. Thank you staff for a great stay!

Marina Inn was in a very convenient spot which helped me in the purpose for my visit to Berkeley (moving). It’s close to restaurants, shops, and anything else you may need. The check in and out process is very easy and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would revisit if I needed a temporary stay in the East Bay again due to all of these factors. I also liked that there was off street, free parking so my partner and I could have peace of mind about our car being parked overnight. If you are looking to have basic needs met (bed, quiet room, heat, microwave, small fridge) the Marina Inn is a good option.
