Beautiful resort, beautiful views, great friendly staff. Loved the walks on the beach (not swimmable). Was noisy at the pools, much quieter at the beach. Food was varied and great tasting. The evening shows were fun. Lots of things to do all over the grounds or you can just relax at the beach or pool.

The beach area is walkable just no swimming but it is beautiful and the bar overlooks the water it is so spectacular

Large, clean room, beautiful view. Staff was mostly very friendly and accommodating. Spa service was amazing. Main pool water was warm, it was loud and didn't seem really clean.

Although the hotel is a little older, everything was great. Service and staff were amazing and food was good. The black sand beach was incredible!

Phenomenal service in the Preferred Club (must go with that option). Landscaping meticulously maintained and room was very clean (and maintained daily). Resort is very safe! Resort located in gated community and resort has guard gate that verifies entrance of everyone. This was our second time to this Secrets property and we’ll be back again.

We enjoyed our 25th anniversary celebrating at the resort. The VIP infinity pool offers a quiet atmosphere, great staff, VIP lounge serves delicious food and drinks all day.

Pros: Stunning landscapes, quick check-in process, no need for dinner reservations, and the Mexican restaurant serves excellent food. Cons: Service quality is average, the main pool is often overcrowded, the preferred pool has limited seating, the beach is poor and unsuitable for swimming, a steep $400 charge for the New Year's dinner, with no alternative celebration options for guests who didn't purchase the dinner. I would not recommend this hotel. It is overpriced and in desperate need of room renovations.

VERY clean resort, Fantastic customer service. Lively scene, variety of entertainment without being a spring break crowd. Beautiful pool, grounds and beach area.

This was our first trip to Cabo and our first stay at a Secrets all-inclusive resort. It is a lovely property and while it is a little on the older side (we hear there is a planned renovation) is still very comfortable and enjoyable. We loved the spa and the staff is amazing. Dining options are good. We had a great trip and will look forward to more time in Cabo!

The swim up bar and pool were great!!Rooms and service beautiful and amazing! My only complaint was not being able to walk on the beach. No easy access and not safe due to tide. Otherwise I would definitely go back!!

Food was awful. Never replenished in room bar unless requested although they advertised it was replenished 2 times a day. Main pool was filthy. Several days it smelled like sewage outdoors.

Absolutely beautiful property. The staff not only treated us as royalty but work so hard to keep the place super clean and in top shape. I highly recommend & will come back as often as I can.

First let me say the concierge (Julio), housekeeping and the restaurant waitstaff were excellent and were tipped very well. However I witnessed something that I would hope that will never happen again. During a visit at the (bar with the pool table) a bartenders helper took a plastic container full of dirty glasses flipped the dirty glasses over to be used again. No diswasher or rinsing needed I guess. The fact that she saw the red liquid in them was irrelevant. A real turn off. I was literally turned off from drinking anything from a cup or glass during the rest of our stay. It was reported however not addressed to either my husband or myself. Had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived. All of the staff was so courteous and always had a smile on. Our room was clean. All the amenities on the grounds were taken care of. It was really nice.

The property was gorgeous. My only issue was the insects in the room and surrounding the semi private pool. I’ve never stayed at a resort where I left with several mosquito bites. In the room there were ants on the bathroom counters and soaking tub.

This was our 4th time here and absolutely loved it again. Only negative thing was the main pool was full of algae. Only time this has happened since coming here.

The property was nice with amazing views, however it was very disappointing that I purchased an ocean view swim out King, and when we arrived, we had a desert view. They moved us to another room,l ann hour later. Past our check in time ant 4:00pm, and it was still not oceanview. Instead, it was in front of a wedding With a view of bushes. Very disappointing that we paid for an oceanfront swim out and receive this kind of service.

They offered us the chance to upgrade our room on arrival and we went for it! The swim up room was amazing for some private swimming time. The room was clean, the staff incredibly attentive. I have a ton of food allergies and had been fearful of what to expect but in both the on-site restaurants and the Buffet, the Waitstaff, Executive Chefs and Mangers were all so accommodating! Cannot say enough about the ladies in the Coco Cafe or the lovely bartenders in the Preferred Lounge either! We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the junior swim up ocean view suite. This is one of the nicest rooms we've stayed in at a resort and we've stayed at a few that were priced more expensive. You can do room service or have more alcohol brought to the secret box at any time and you don't have to see anyone. The pool is nice but there's only one swim up bar. The food is decent but could be quite a bit better. There's not reservations at the restaurant which definitely has pros and cons. If you're into snorkeling or scuba then I'd stick to the Caribbean or the other side of Mexico, this is not the resorts fault, but there is no beach access at this hotel. Overall I would stay here again and we had a good time.

Good stay! Beautiful property! A/C could work better as it was kind of warm in the rooms, which had a lingering smell of mildew.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating- the rooms were clean but in need of upgrades- a bit dated. Also, there was a strong musty odor in the room. I know with all the humidity (excessively) it’s challenging but it seemed to be more intense than other resorts in other humid destinations that we’ve stayed at.

Amazing swim out room!

“The hotel was large and impressive—very clean, with nice pool access right from my room. Unfortunately, the jet tub wasn’t working properly, and water leaked out, which made quite a mess. The oceanfront view was beautiful, though the waves were too strong for swimming (not the hotel’s fault). The staff were amazing—very kind, professional, and always ready to help. Overall, a lovely stay with great service despite a few minor issues.”

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and overall excellent. The restaurants left a little to be desired. Although room service was excellent. I was in a swim up, which was really nice, but the room had a mildew smell to it that they couldn’t seem to get rid of, although they tried. Overall, it wasn’t enjoyable experience.

This was our second time staying at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos and we once again had an amazing time. It was good to see Ivan and Delmar were still on staff with the entertainment team, they always ensure everyone has a good time.

Our initial arrival experience was quite poor. Check-in was slow, and we were immediately pressured to upgrade for an extra fee, which we declined. Despite our refusal, another agent then tried to sign us up for a sales/membership meeting, persisting even after my wife explicitly asked him to stop. After receiving our keys, we proceeded to our room. However, our luggage, checked in at 3:30 PM, didn't arrive until 5:50 PM, delaying our plans to enjoy the pool. We expressed our frustration about the check-in experience in an Expedia email. A few days later, a customer service representative contacted us, apologized, and offered a room upgrade. However, as we were already settled in, we declined the offer. Beyond this initial hiccup, the rest of our stay was fantastic. The food options were numerous, and all the restaurants were excellent. A special shout-out to Jorge at the pool – his service was incredible, making us feel like the only guests at the property!"

The property was absolutely beautiful and the food was good. The biggest issue is the pool service. There was a male/female team at the pool each day. The female was courteous and did a good job. The male, however, was horrible. In a five day period, he made eye contact with us only a few times. When I was able to call him over, he’d tell me he’d be back to take my order, but he never returned. This happened MULTIPLE times. The few times he did take a drink order, we never received the drinks. We ended up walking to the restaurant/swim up bar and retrieving our order each time. Pretty disappointing aspect of the trip considering that 90 percent of the time is spent at the pool.

The overall experience was absolutely superb! The ENTIRE staff everywhere were friendly, attentive, and amazing! One suggestion is when checking in guests, give an update restaurant information (open, times, etc.) as the TV guide was not updated for our stay. We definitely would go back!

Great resort. All the workers are friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay feel great. Room service is fast. Good food in all the restaurants. Different activities to do during the day. Live DJ at night. Made friends with the entertainment crew Ivan and Fernando. Those guys were great at running the activities. Will definitely be back.

Staff was great for service. The property was clean and well maintained. The pool was perfect temperature, the bars were awesome. Also very secure. The food was ok. Among the 8 restaurant options on the property only one really nailed it in terms of cuisine. Two negatives to watch out for. First, is that upon check-in they hit you immediately trying to upgrade you to a VIP section for more money, and scheduling presentations to sell you on the Hyatt timeshare equivalent, offering massive discounts as incentives on substantially overpriced services in the first place. Very annoying when you first check in. Second, their system apparently does not make it obvious that the trip was paid for already through Expedia. Even so far as to explain to me that Expedia didn't actually charge my card. So they double charged me and I had to prove the trip was paid for already for them to refund the double charge. It was taken care of the same day but it was on me to handle it.

I booked a room in July for a September stay. Although I planned to go with my girlfriend, I confirmed a booking for 1 vs 2 people. If I had chosen a booking at the time for 2 people, the additional charge would have been $160 USD. Rather than rectify the situation upon arrival, they assure me everything will be fine and urged me to sign multiple documents and enjoy my stay. Later I find a charge for $1,000 USD. During my stay I went to the front desk to fix the error, but I was informed that $1,000 USD is the price and there’s nothing I could do. Things like this destroy peoples experiences. Not because of the final price, but because they made me feel like a moron. I will not be going back unless they resolve this.

Waiter at the pool treated us like minors and was rude when we ordered drinks when we were there for 3 hours and was on our 3rd drink. I been to many resorts before and never had that happened. So disappointed with our stay.

Swim out room was great. Staff was awesome. Properly is showing it age. Didn’t receive a room upgrade. Avoid the time share sales pitch. Scam!!!

It was perfect short vacation but Hyatt Sales marketing too bother to us. Short trip share my time. Another options are perfect.

This property is very secluded. It’s at least a 30-45 minute drive to the center of town which was the only downfall. Property is very clean and beautiful and the all inclusive meals at the restaurants was fabulous. Excellent and attentive staff. They will try to upsell/upgrade your room upon check-in. This is an Ocean beach front property, but the waves and currents are often not too safe to swim in. Shout out: Tyler in the front bell hop area is outstanding and knowledgeable .

Beautiful properly. Need better drinks or drink menus. Didnt know beach access was limited we weren't able to go to beach which was why booked trip was to spend time on beach

The staff was amazing and the property was well maintained however needs a little updating with the furnishings. We really enjoyed our stay. But if you’re looking for a walkable and swimable beach this place is not for you. Shopping in nearby San Jose is just a 10 minute ride.

Nice getaway. Secluded property. Had a nice time in the pools…. With the beaches closed it is questionable if we would return.

I liked room, beautiful plants, nightly events and excursions. My building was a distance from events and food. I had to depend on transportation! However, I felt safe at night!

There is nothing around in walking distance

Excellent resort. All the food was delicious. The rooms are clean and nothing about them seems outdated. The entire resort was very clean and the service was great.

The food and drinks are terrible and that’s why I’m giving it one star. I read so many reviews of this place and after staying here I cannot imagine who these people are saying the food is great??? Where do they eat normally???? We are not picky and this is my first bad review I am leaving for a hotel because I just have to warn people about the bad food. The eggs at buffet are gross with some sort of filler. The “juice” is sugar water with a bit of juice. Everything tastes like school cafeteria food. Of course you can get fruit which actually tastes like real food and I thought bacon was fine. The room service and pool food is pretty nasty. “pizzas” are worst than anything frozen you would buy at grocery store. Any fish dish I got had a bad taste like it wasn’t fresh or freezer burned. The chicken was only option meatwise and we had some decent chicken at dinner restaurants. I was actually the most disappointed with the deserts. They were so bad. Artificial flavored pastries even a few places that had ice cream tasted so bad. The other AI we have started at had a place u could get gelato so at least u could get something good but nada here. The drinks are so water downed it’s impossible to even get a buzz but they taste horrible because it’s all cheap fake ingredients. We spent a lot to stay in a swim out room and it was clean. The grounds are pretty and service by employees was fantastic. The employees service was the best 10/10.

The property itself was beautiful, with phenomenal rooms and stunning views. However, the food selection was disappointing. There wasn’t much variety across the different restaurants, and the menus felt quite limited. I was especially hoping to see more Mexican food options, which were noticeably lacking. We also experienced several interruptions while trying to rest in our room, which was frustrating—especially while recovering from a sunburn. Housekeeping didn’t refill the body wash for several days and even left a bottle of Lysol in the room. Additionally, a fumigator unexpectedly showed up out of the blue. When we contacted the concierge to ask if that was normal, they said it was not, they would look into it and get back to us, but we never heard back. The room service menu was also quite limited. Other than these issues, the overall stay was enjoyable.

We booked a swim up, it was great. We stayed in three all-inclusive resorts in Mexico this summer, a RIU, a Hyatt Ziva, and this Secrets. This topped the three for room, pools and property and service. It ranked second for alcohol, but worst for food. It didn’t hit. One daytime restaurant was good, otherwise the buffet missed completely and the restaurants were good, but long and drawn out, limited on how you order, and generally felt cursory. Note that this property is resort focused, not beach focused. Beach is a small part of the experience, inaccessible and far away. It’s a great place, just don’t go thinking food or beach will be amazing, it’s fine, but not compared to other resorts or other great things about this resort.

The grounds are gorgeous. The decor is dated, but they do a great job keeping everything clean and well maintained. The restaurants are all conveniently located so you’re not walking very far to get to them. The food is ok. It kept us from over-eating! The pool and bar service is excellent. I found it lacking in the restaurants. The one person who stood out and seemed like he loved his job is Christian at the Portofino restaurant. He’s the best!

Weather was not the best so we really did not get to enjoy all the outerareas. We were not able to dine at the dinner restaurants because they get so busy. The one time we tried we had to wait an hr for a pager and probably another to be seated so we just ate at the same all day restaurant they have.

We loved this resort. The food was amazing, we liked the seaside grill and the Japanese restaurant the best. Also, the ocean views by the swing bar…. Man I came there everyday for the view and sound
