The overall view is absolutely beautiful. This resort was exactly as described. After a long drive from the city, the open view of the mountains just before arrival was absolutely breathtaking. The lodge itself was super cozy & very welcoming. Parking was convenient & the staff were friendly. The rooms itself are exactly as described. Beautifully decorated and lovely views of the mountains. Will be back to visit again :)

Had a great stay. It was definitely like stepping into a different era. The lodge is excellently decorated, rustic and nostalgic. Our room faced the mountains, with a grand claw foot tub in front of an enormous window. Two late 50 year olds attempted a romantic soaking, not the tub’s fault, but was not a smooth experience. But still romantic and worth the try. Unfortunately, the weather was overcast and rainy, but did not take away from the beauty of area and lodge. The restaurant was fantastic, with a focus on local ingredients. The facility offers different activities, like archery, sauna and hiking paths. Planning my next visit.

We arrived at 2:45- there was only 1 bartender on ) the only pleasant employee we encountered) Most of the amenities were not available/ no night life with DJ as advertised for both nights, no fire pits outside that were lit.The game room was 2 pool table and old board games . They had a fireplace thanks guest lit & maintained a nice fire for us. Walkways were so icy & not maintained making it difficult to get around. The sauna outdoors holds 2people so good luck getting in . We tried to make the best of it/ but when we checked out they charged us $74 resort fee. We called hotels . Com and they agreed we should not be charged anything & tried calling but no one at front desk would answer the phone. I went back to talk to someone & she said she would have to get back to me then some snippy person named Jay says to me loudly be nice . The woman that was trying to help me, apologized & said he should not have said that as I was just clarifying my bill. I have to go home & deal with this overcharge now. There is absolutely nothing to do here, Also no tvs not even in lobby. Restaurant was ok nothing spo& expensive . Nothing near by to go to. Rooms small & no closet space Our view was a truck parked outside window

Exactly what I was looking for! Add a pool and a Spa on this property and you wouldn’t need to leave! Great friendly staff, great food, and the DJ Fri/Sat night, pure vibes!! Will definitely make my way back sooner than later.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. The staff members however were not well trained. It felt as though no one was able to answer any question that I had. I also felt that the establishment rules were ridiculous. You were only allowed to eat breakfast outside if you had a dog.

In room 205 at Forest Haus, there is no curtain over the balcony door window. Because of this it got very bright in the room as soon as the sun came up. There were also lady bugs all over the room. They didn’t really bother us but also didn’t expect that.

I would give 6 stars if I could. I have never been treated by staff so kindly at a hotel. We were immediately welcomed with warm smiles, complementary drinks and sat by the fire to enjoy them. Room was clean and decor was fun and unique. The outdoor tub was my favorite. Before I left I already planned on coming back for the fall season to do some hiking around the area and look at the fall foliage. I recommended this place to all my friends. I have been upstate at least three times a year for the past decade, this experience was by far the most unique and enjoyable.

The property is extremely overrated. The setting is very pretty. Rooms are less than basic. No place to really put luggage and nowhere in the bathroom to put any toiletries. Everything was clean but not very comfortable. Only a wooden desk chair to sit on. Property played music all day long. At times too loud to enjoy the peace and quiet that the setting would’ve allowed. A $25 per day facility fee For amenities was not necessary on top of the price. The facilities included a sauna, cornhole, archery, and a fire pit. I would never return. I will say, that the front desk and bar staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The restaurant staff were well trained, but oblivious. The waitress did not even know what beer she had served to another patron so we could order the same. The bus person kept taking away the bottles of water we asked him to leave on the table.

Funky Brooklyn hipster vibe meets Santa Fe decor. Nicest (and most expensive) place to stay in the area. Super comfy beds, friendly staff, and limited but tasty bfast and lunch/dinner options. We had room with sitting area with comfy sofa and amazing views of the mountains. Common area in bldg that our room was in had a horrible musty smell. But room was clean and smelled fine. Would have given five stars for cleanliness but were several hairs in shower. No tv.

Horrible never happened before. We got the key went to the room, the door was open and the room was not cleaned. We drove for 2 hours to get there and spend time with friends and we ended up going back because they had no more rooms to accommodate us. I have video of the room how it was. They say that they call Expedia to refund us back. Waiting for my refund

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had the best time. The rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable (especially the bed!). Every detail about the place is very thoughtful and gorgeous. Staying here is a romantic little getaway in and of itself and we liked that we could have dinner, drinks, and breakfast right there (the food was all excellent!). It's a 15-30 min drive at least to get to other nearby towns (go to the Phoenicia Diner!) but there is still plenty to do within that range and great hiking options nearby too. Everyone we interacted with at Urban Cowboy was very friendly and professional. We'd definitely come back! Book a room with a cedar tub if you can, but you can't go wrong. Thank you for an incredible stay! P.S. I had read other reviews before booking our stay here and it seems like nearly anything negative others had to say resulted from a failure to read the lodge's communications (everything is communicated ahead of time over email and in the little guidebook in the room).

Funky Brooklyn hipster vibe meets Santa Fe decor. Nicest (and most expensive) place to stay in the area. Super comfy beds, friendly staff, and limited but tasty bfast and lunch/dinner options. We had room with sitting area with comfy sofa and amazing views of the mountains. Common area in bldg that our room was in had a horrible musty smell. But room was clean and smelled fine. Would have given five stars for cleanliness but were several hairs in shower. No tv.

We arrived at 2:45- there was only 1 bartender on ) the only pleasant employee we encountered) Most of the amenities were not available/ no night life with DJ as advertised for both nights, no fire pits outside that were lit.The game room was 2 pool table and old board games . They had a fireplace thanks guest lit & maintained a nice fire for us. Walkways were so icy & not maintained making it difficult to get around. The sauna outdoors holds 2people so good luck getting in . We tried to make the best of it/ but when we checked out they charged us $74 resort fee. We called hotels . Com and they agreed we should not be charged anything & tried calling but no one at front desk would answer the phone. I went back to talk to someone & she said she would have to get back to me then some snippy person named Jay says to me loudly be nice . The woman that was trying to help me, apologized & said he should not have said that as I was just clarifying my bill. I have to go home & deal with this overcharge now. There is absolutely nothing to do here, Also no tvs not even in lobby. Restaurant was ok nothing spo& expensive . Nothing near by to go to. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. The staff members however were not well trained. It felt as though no one was able to answer any question that I had. I also felt that the establishment rules were ridiculous. You were only allowed to eat breakfast outside if you had a dog.

I would give 6 stars if I could. I have never been treated by staff so kindly at a hotel. We were immediately welcomed with warm smiles, complementary drinks and sat by the fire to enjoy them. Room was clean and decor was fun and unique. The outdoor tub was my favorite. Before I left I already planned on coming back for the fall season to do some hiking around the area and look at the fall foliage. I recommended this place to all my friends. I have been upstate at least three times a year for the past decade, this experience was by far the most unique and enjoyable.

The staff here was amazing, had a great one night getaway and I wished we stayed longer! Definitely would come back! Service A plus! Food A plus! Scenery outstanding! Definitely recommend for a good wind down from ones busy day to day.

The bartender was so rude the entire trip. We asked her what the bar food consisted of and she just kept repeating "regular bar food" with an attitude. When you get there, you get a complimentary bubbles or bourbon, we got the bourbon and asked if she can put a splash of cranberry or any juice in it and she refused and said the drink can only be given straight. She had a very standoff attitude and other guest told us of other incidents they had with her making fun of them and telling them the drinks are all premade so she can make it custom but it won\'t taste any good. Not sure if I\'ve ever seen anything like it tbh. She should definitely not be behind a bar in a social setting. Besides that everything was ok, the entertainment needs improvement, there\'s not much to do.

Horrible never happened before. We got the key went to the room, the door was open and the room was not cleaned. We drove for 2 hours to get there and spend time with friends and we ended up going back because they had no more rooms to accommodate us. I have video of the room how it was. They say that they call Expedia to refund us back. Waiting for my refund

A slice of heaven. From Buddys warm greeting to everyone on staff they are just the nicest, most witty and welcoming staff I’ve ever seen, without being pretentious. The chef hits it out of the park, creative and expertly prepared and freshly sourced. We will be back to relax and decompress again.A wonderful experience sinking into feather beds and Pendleton robes.

The urban cowboy lodge is in a unique, private, and very beautiful location. In the heart of the catskills you are just minutes from several hiking trailheads. The lodge itself is a really awesome, cozy style with an old western type feel but of course modern amenities. The staff were all extremely friendly, and eager to help you enjoy your stay in any way they could. The breakfasts were more than good for free hotel breakfast, and dinner at the hotel resteraunt was truly delicious. Nothing more satisfying than being 5 minutes from a shower, a margarita, and a hot meal after a hike. In my opinion there is really nothing negative to say about this place, we will certainly be back and likely once in each season to see fall and winter views in the mountains. Highly reccomend getting a room with a hot tub on the balcony. This is a hikers/ nature lovers dream hotel!

The overall view is absolutely beautiful. This resort was exactly as described. After a long drive from the city, the open view of the mountains just before arrival was absolutely breathtaking. The lodge itself was super cozy & very welcoming. Parking was convenient & the staff were friendly. The rooms itself are exactly as described. Beautifully decorated and lovely views of the mountains. Will be back to visit again :)

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had the best time. The rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable (especially the bed!). Every detail about the place is very thoughtful and gorgeous. Staying here is a romantic little getaway in and of itself and we liked that we could have dinner, drinks, and breakfast right there (the food was all excellent!). It's a 15-30 min drive at least to get to other nearby towns (go to the Phoenicia Diner!) but there is still plenty to do within that range and great hiking options nearby too. Everyone we interacted with at Urban Cowboy was very friendly and professional. We'd definitely come back! Book a room with a cedar tub if you can, but you can't go wrong. Stayed here overnight before picking up my kids from camp. Dined outside at the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Afterwards, relaxed in my room where I took a dip in the Japanese hot tub. Felt great after a long drive. Bed was comfortable and had a good night's sleep. Would love to come back another time and take advantage of the hikes nearby.

Absolutely loved the Lodge. Our rooms were extremely clean and loved the decor. I especially loved the big copper tub, heated bathroom tiles and cozy fire. The lodge itself is cozy and I loved how everyone just started hanging out and talking. The restaurant food was good. However, my only complaint is that there aren’t many choices. Highly recommend this relaxing beautiful Lodge!

The property is beautiful and really a great place to unwind. I did think the hostess was slightly off with us. She said she was going to give us a tour on check in but eventually found out she did not (she just walked us to our room) and she actually was not very forthcoming with giving a description of the property and what the property offers as part of the welcome. In fact as we were leaving we then accidentally found out about other amenities. The hostesses didn’t seem as knowledgeable about giving ideas of things to do around the area - contrary to what’s advertised on the website. We had dinner at the Dining Room - food was great except they served the fries that came with the burger cold - not expected for a place charging $35 for a burger. They did replace the fries when we asked. The rest of the food we ordered was good. The other drawback was the robes in the room. They are actually super cool looking but the fabric itches a lot. Other than that it really is a cool property and the rest of the staff were good.

Staff are lovely. Enthusiastic. Friendly. Grounds are nice. Quiet and peaceful with a short walking trail. We were there mid June and the staff raved about the swimming hole. The water was freezing. Not sure who would be brave enough to swim in the river. Rooms are dated although the staff say they updated but kept the original look. Large enough room but no where to put 2 suitcases except on the bed. No table in the room for dining or writing. Bathroom was updated though. All common areas, including the main lounge are musty. The biggest issue with this place is the dining room. The menu is very limited. 4 entree options that come with just the piece of meat. Sides are extra. The pasta option was unedible. The 2 veg options, snowpeas and asparagus were quite good. Meal was $140 No dessert. . Wine was ' $20 a glass. The mini bar sold a small bag of popcorn for $7 when the high end coffee shop nearby sold it for $3. The dining room does not open till 8 am. No place to get coffee beforehand. We even told staff we were early risers and wanted to be hiking before 8. Still no coffee provided. There is nothing close by. We had to drive 1/2 hour away to get coffee at 7 and then drive a half hour back to go hiking. We picked this spot for its proximity to the trails. But unless you either want to drive out of your way or wait till late to hike, we would not suggest this place. Better. To stay where you can get some breakfast earlier and drive to the trails.

Had a beautiful, but far too short stay at the Urban Cowboy, the grounds and rooms are wonderful, the staff were welcoming and kind, and the restaurant and bar were exceptional. A perfect place to relax and unwind, can't wait to return. If you stay, make sure to order the fried chicken sandwich from the Parlor menu!

To me, and I believe many others, coffee is high on the list of expectations when staying anywhere, high end or low end. I have a hard time figuring this out. If its not doable to have machines in rooms..then at least have fresh coffee available in a communal area in every building. The thermos coffee was not hot, and really bad.. Everything else was amazing here. The music trivia was a blast, The staff, the bar, the food, and the location. It really is a spectacular place..please fix the coffee

Exactly what I was looking for! Add a pool and a Spa on this property and you wouldn’t need to leave! Great friendly staff, great food, and the DJ Fri/Sat night, pure vibes!! Will definitely make my way back sooner than later.
