The front desk was friendly, accommodating, and helpful! We had a one-night stay and were able to keep our bags with the hotel the day of check-in and check-out, and it was an easy, no hassle to do. The room itself was the bare essentials- just what we needed since we really only needed to sleep and shower there. The room was clean, however, the hotel could benefit from some upgrades- furniture and counters were chipped and well-worn, scuffs on the walls, leaky faucets, etc. Clean is always my top priority though and it was absolutely CLEAN. There was a rooftop with an awesome view of the Chrysler Building and the city in general that was open until 10pm. We got to enjoy the view there for a bit! The hotel was also close to the 4/5/6 subway line & made it easy to get around the city on multiple lines. Would stay at The Lex again for the price, cleanliness and convenience!

We love the location. Subway and buses are within walking distances. The bathroom space was surprisingly huge for NYC. The rooftop is small but relaxing. Be aware, they close it if it’s raining. The breakfast is offering croissants, cereal/milk, muffins, OJ, coffee and tea. No fridge in the room. One can request one, I learned at checkout. They are limited. The staff is very friendly and will provide towels and extra blankets upon request. We chose no room service. Plenty of places nearby for a scrumptious breakfast, or a late night drink. The price per day was fair. Most likely will stay there again.

The Lex Hotel's Main Photo was off a rooftop patio. However, if it even sprinkled rain for 2 minutes at 7am they would keep it closed all day. Room was drab grey, no pictures and a bit depressing. Also, breakfast ending at 9am and not 10am wasn't ideal as tourist travelers. Location was great, staff were always friendly. Overall okay but for $300 a night a bit disappointing.

This was a great deal- at least when I went. However, I read another review where they tried to stick another guest into the basement room and they did that to me as well even though after reading that review I booked a room with a city view (that cost more) to make sure this didn’t happen to me. But they fixed the situation and I was able to get a room on the 7th floor looking out at the NY Life building which was great. I loved that the windows opened all the way so I could have fresh air! The roof was beautiful! Location was very nice. The ice service was nice as well. The room and bathroom were clean but the lampshades were all stained? I don’t know it gave the room a bad look but other than that I was really glad to stay here

Checked into my hotel and didn’t take a look around. Went to hang out with some friends. Later on when I got back to my room I noticed poop smeared at the bottom of the toilet. I was so grossed out staying there.

So, there were contacts stuck to the bathroom floor when we got there. Bad pillows. The bottom sheet on the bed was a flat sheet…. That didn’t actually cover the mattress. Yuck. Very uncomfortable to have a scratchy sheet bunched up under you all night. We were in the top floor. There is no sound proofing in the windows so very loud, which I guess you expect in nyc but I’ve not had a room that loud in a hotel on any of my trips. Great location. The rooftop was a nice option. Didn’t realize I had to ask for cushions.

The carpet was stained, grungy and torn. The toilet had not been cleaned very well. There was a funky odor permeating the hall and into the guest room. The bottom sheet, (normally a fitted sheet) was a flat sheet that I discovered did not even cover the mattress at the bottom of the bed!

It's a nice hotel! Overpriced and a small room. But for NYC it's fine. It's right in the city and quiet. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Everything worked and the place looked clean and fresh. I wish they had in room coffee, or kept coffee available after the continental breakfast ended at 10:00. But that is a small thing.

I enjoyed my recent stay at The Lex but found the room a little less comfortable than I'd hoped: there were no drawers and very few hangers; the ironing board was a tiny tabletop thing; I could hear room neighbors more than I wished; and the armory(?) across the street added extra noise frequently. I mean, I'm in NYC so I expect some noise and a small room. It was a comfortable stay but I never really quite settled in since I didn't have enough room for my clothes on a multi-day visit. The location is amazing of course, the staff were extremely helpful, the bed was really comfortable, and coffee etc in the lobby in the morning were sure nice. I'll stay here again but hope they'll make a few tweaks to make the rooms even more comfy!

It's a solid hotel with a bigger than most NYC bathrooms. Our "upgraded" room that we paid an extra $20/night faced a brick wall. But it was quiet! Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly.

The staff was amazing! There is a difference in doing your job and genuinely caring about the people who come to the hotel. George was always happy to serve breakfast. Bryan was so friendly. This can be said about all employees. Chris was always ready with a genuine smile. The most telling for us, was how the staff treated each other. They cared about each other and it showed which reflected on how they treated all of their guests. We highly recommend this hotel!

I want to thank the Lex Hotel staff in particular. Our room was comfortable and the location was very convenient (close to the 6 subway line), but the staff we interacted with, all of them, were kind, knowledgeable, and considerate.

What a disappointment! Hotel is in a great area, but that’s about it. Several significant issues including dirty rooms, no hot water, dead remote batteries, no working phones in the room and towels with holes. The front desk was not helpful and the manager was never available. We tried to address these issues and received no help. Stay far away from this one.

The customer service was outstanding from describing how to load into the hotel (we had a car to park), check-in process, explanation of area, and directions to the parking garage (not on-site, just around the corner). Area is terrific, close to Madison Square Park and many other NYC gems. Public transport is easy. The room was simple with everything we needed for a quick trip to NYC. Back to the customer service, ABOVE AND BEYOND. The front desk, the management, the bell-hop, the cleaning staff, EVERYONE we dealt with at this property was gold standard. Thank you for making our mini-vacation so wonderful.

I found the staff to be amazing, and very accomadating. I appreciate the extra touches. Hotel has thin walls but they offer ear plugs. By running my fan all night it drowned out most noise. I would definitely stay here again!

Very central location, good public transportation. A refrigerator in the room would have been helpful. Also extended hours for breakfast especially on weekend would be helpful. The breakfast offers finished 15 minutes before 9 am on some days.
