The Villa Express

While the room etc were good, it was not obvious to me from the booking that there was no breakfast available. How can it be a 3 star hotel with no breakfast? The website needs to make this blatantly obvious, not for people to have to notice there is no mention of food.

Although it was easy to park, you definitely needed a car to travel into Preston for our planned venue, cost of taxi &30.00 each way. All staff were very friendly, polite & helpful, room spacious & spotless. Would return, even though due to family foreseen circumstances we only stayed for one night, although we had paid for two

The room had an odour and the widow had a restrictor on it which is understandable, but it couldn't be opened more than half an inch. We were told the room number verbally which matched the key number. Only five minutes after settling in two more guests entered our room. Which was infact their room. Our room on the slip of paper was 27 and not 28 (which was the key we were given). Lastly the Pub and restaurant next door was permanently closed. So there was no breakfast service available. This should surely have been communicated to us via email.

The room itself was Ok, but there was a bit of an odour - not sure if cleaning products, or what it was - plus there were some hairs and dust at the end of the table [housing kettle and the TV] in the corner, in front of the armchair, so fairly easily visible, also the toilet seat hadn't been dried after cleaning so was a bit wet. That said the beds were comfortable and the room was reasonably well equipped, especially for a short stay. We travelled with our dog, who is a bit nervous in new surroundings and i was a bit suprised that we were as far down the cooridor as you could get on the 1st floor, so had to go all the way along the corridor and up/down the stairs to get to/leave our room, which caused a little bit of barking! We couldn't have the window open at night as we faced the road which was quite busy throughout the night and from early in the morning. One last thing was that the next door/attached Restaurant/Bar was closed down, which meant a drive into Kirkham and Wesham for some food, which wasn't ideal after a 7 hour drive, but overall the Hotel was fine!

This hotel is ideal if you are staying and your fur baby needs to go with you, we had no-one to look after our baby. Not many hotels take in dogs so to find this one which was 20 mins away from the hospital for my operation. This hotel is not the cleanest of hotels but for one night and with your dog is fantastic.

Hotel is very nice but the adjoining pub was closed which was very disappointing because we booked here to have a meal and a couple of drinks.

Appears to be a former Premier Inn site. Large free parking area & located close to a main route to Blackpool & surrounding area. Rooms were of a reasonable standard, with all the usual facilities in a working condition, but needs a refurbishment. Bed firm, but comfortable, room clean, but carpet in need of a deep clean. No inhouse food other than a snack machine, but next to a "Smokehouse" restaurant, which was excellent. Overall of an acceptable standard for cost & convenient as an overnight stay.

Absolutely disgusting, the room was filthy!!!

The bedroom was small with broken furniture and mould in the shower. No effort was made to repair the furniture and no offer of an alternative room until it was too late. Housekeeping left dirty cups and insufficient towels for two guests during this four night stay. Accommodation directed at those working in the area.

It was budget hotel standard. Reception team lovely and helpful. Room basic. Beds very uncomfortable Bathroom grubby, dead bugs on floor amd in lights

Booked here as it was conveniently located for the Lytham Festival. Upon arrival we overheard another couple discussing that they wouldnt be spending too much time in their room so no point saying anything which intrigued me until i arrived in our room. The room was okay but thats all, it was in need of a deep clean. Drawers were in need of a vaccuum, didnt feel haopy putting my clothes in them. Also the bathroom shower was really dirty round the bottom. Its a pity because it had the potential to live up to its rating but i felt it fell short of that. The bed was comfortable but very noisy, each time i turned in bed the whole bed creaked. If i was going to lytham again i would be looking elsewhere for accommodation but if this were the only place free it wouldnt put me off booking again. Just be fair warned its not as pristine as the ratings on here would make you think.

The room had black mould in the corners and around the window which is a healthy hazard, the shower cubicle was very dirty and clearly not had a good clean in a long time. Black scum around the shower doors and around the soap dispenser which was empty I might add. Very disappointed as the website states the rooms are to a high standard!

An example is that the TV remote to a very small TV did not work and was sticky. I went to get new AA batteries from reception but they had only oneAAA battery. They didn’t offer to obtain any more. It was not what I expected from the reviews and how it was presented.

Lovely staff, clean room. Just what we needed for the weekend

The room was full of dust and poorly maintained and smelt The kettle had limescale in it All pillows had yellow marks on them The quilt had yellow and brown marks on them The mattress had a brown mark on it The description on hotels.com stated there is a bar , restaurant which there is not this The state of the hotel and it’s description are not as described I would suggest to that immediate improvements are made by the hotel management so that Fylde Borough council Environmental Health and Liscenjng do not need pay a visit

First Time Here at Villa Express But There Is Much Better Accommodation Out There At a Better Price £ The Reception Staff Were Extremely Friendly and Helpful And Sam Was Such a Professional With Help and Advice Brilliant She is a Trye Asset But My Room Was Terrible Noises all Night From The Heating Radiators And The Shower Was Shocking Everything Fallen apart ,My Tip Avoid Room ( 6)

On arrival I checked in and was shown my room. The bed was almost on the floor. The room was freezing cold and I spoke to reception and she came to the room and attempted to warm up. She was lovely. I went to the attached restaurant which is a steak house- they had NO steak. On returning to the room it was still freezing and there was no towels. I had to be moved. On the second room the heating worked. I was asleep and was woken by the sound of small feet scuffling around on what sounded like a hard surface. After the initial shock, I decided to check for droppings to confirm my suspicions there was mice, there was none seen but the sound went through the night. I therefore had no sleep!

Reception staff even though I’d payed for my room refused to let me take my luggage into room until I’d payed for my pup even though I’d more luggage and pup was in car room was far too hot shower was tiny not enough towels given definitely would not use again in fact still waiting on a refund for a room cancelled way before trip due to ill health of a fellow traveller In need of a upgrade desperately and staff training manners cost nothing

It went down a bit a few years ago but seems to have been spruced up recently. Change of ownership? (The tv in the room had seen better days with occasional unresponsive controls. Wi-fi did not load up.)
