We just left Buenpas and on the bus to Bilbao. The Pension is very clean, comfortable and well maintained and Jon ( the host) was extremely kind, friendly and helpful and always available if you have problems. The location is excellent for the old town, bus station etc. I am reliably told San Sebastian is one of the most expensive cities in Spain and Pension Buenpas is good value for money compared to other accommodation. You can't go wrong.

Really lovely little place, room was perfect as a base to explore. Location is ideal, short pleasant walk to the promenade or old town. We didn’t see the owners but they made contact to let us know they were available if we needed anything. Will be recommending to anyone we know going to visit San Sebastián

Clean, quiet and with a great location. Good coffee and a nice owner. Be aware that it is a pension and that you will be closer to other guests than in most hotels. (Not necessarily a disadvantage.) I would visit again, but then make sure to get a room with a window to the outer world (which I think it was only our triple room which did not have).

The hotel was very centrally located—everything within a 15 minute walk. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. The proprietor, Jon, and staff were very helpful and friendly; good communication and recommendations. As we were here during peak heat, it was very nice to have AC in the room after long, hot days out on the beach and for local pintxos crawls. Highly recommended!
