Hotel Indigo NYC Downtown - Wall Street by IHG

Tremendous friendly and professional front desk service staff. However, there are structural problem not of their making. Closets in main bedroom lack front door handles making it impossible to open. Plastic spoon and forks should be in the room in case people buy their own yogurt or ice cream to eat with.Ice machine in the basement is ridiculous for people have to go down and back for ice for their drinks Further, a printed page of stores and restaurants and places of tourist interests should be put in front desk. Finally, you need a very large sign with the name of the hotel should be above your front door. Holiday Inn Express, next door, has one. Why not you?

Clean room - a bit smaller than we typically experience, but this could be due to the location. We paid for our stay in advance and upon arrival had to pay a $35 additional convenience fee (not sure why this wasn’t part of the price online) which included 2 bottles of spring water. There was no declining and it felt a bit dishonest. Rooftop bar was nice and location was fantastic being able to walk to places we wanted to go.

One thing to know is that this hotel has a rooftop bar so there are people consistently going up and down all evening, making it loud.

The hotel was perfect for a girls’ trip! We had a blast, and since it rained the first night, it was fortunate we had the bar upstairs. The only downside is the fact there wasn’t a microwave. Other than that, super chic, fun, and fabulous. And we were located in a great spot.

Check-in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are bit small but very clean and comfortable bed. The location was great, had plenty of restaurants and shops and wasn't too far from where we needed to go. Hotel doesn’t have any parking and very limited space is available to park in front of the hotel just to even check-in. We paid around $90 for 2 days parking garage next to hotel, of course it will cost more if you take your vehicle in and out.

I tried several times to go to rooftop cafe just to take photos and may gave a beer or two but was never allowed. I understand the security with the elevtot and thats greatly appreciated but could never go up top and we were on the 10th floor

Didn’t mention a single thing about resort fees upon check-in but just noticed I had a $112 charge on my card no heads up and when I call they tell me its fees. Weird they didnt give that info upon check in. ALSO this is probably worse, but in less you like to wait 10+ minutes for an elevator don’t stay here. I waited over 10 minutes (no exaggeration) for the elevator to come to my floor…

Location was absolutely ideal for us. We loved being able to leave the chaos of the city but still have easy access, it was about 5 min walk to Wall Street subway stations. Walking distance to several piers was a bonus we weren't expecting. As with all hotels in New York, beware that the room is SMALL. You definitely want to be comfortable with someone if sharing a room with them as you will have no privacy and you will be sharing every bit of the space. If you have more than one big suitcase between you plus cabin luggage you will struggle. I paid for a premium / high rise view but we were looking directly into an office building opposite us so I wouldn't pay extra for that next time. The lifts can be slow on the weekends as the general public can access the rooftop bar (if you're used to London rooftop bars don't expect the same here, it's a very small space and limited seating options). They do give you a credit for the rooftop as part of your destination fee, but beware you may not be able to use it. We tried and were told they couldn't do this so our credit just went to waste and we ended up paying full for our drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful when we had queries. They also were able to hold our bags free of charge when we had time to kill before our flights. Overall a decent stay, would stay here again purely based on the location and cleanliness of the hotel.

Hotel was excellent. They have a great roof top bar and it was very busy during our stay with both hotel guests and non residents. The room was small but we expected that and it suited our needs. Room was very well maintained and amenities were great. The restaurant serves breakfast which we didn’t use but did eat in the evening and it was lovely. The owner/manager of the restaurant was very friendly & kind giving us hot drinks in the morning when we mentioned we were heading out to get some. Very kind.

We honestly love staying at this location in NYC! Everything you need is all in walkable distance and the surrounding area is quiet and feels safe. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day, and your sleep is not interrupted at all by outside noise or lighting.

The room was dirty and not stocked with cups or bath towels and wash cloths. I sent my minor son to the front desk to ask for cups and they told him to walk across the street and buy some!

Pee and Hair all over bathroom’s toilet seat on arrival.

Good stay! Near lots of restaurants. Only downside was the hotel sheets looked stained. Housekeeping turned down the bed but to ease my mind, I purchased a set from Marshall’s to place on top of the sheets. After that, I was comfortable!

Great location near train. Rooms are very small though. Clean. Overall good stay.

There was a disgusting LARGE hairball in the drain of the shower just shy of the size of a tennis ball. This is something that would have been immediately noticed if the bathroom was cleaned properly. That or staff didn't seem to want to touch it either.

I would not stay here again. My room was not cleaned well upon arrival. Headboard was filthy, clumps of hair on bathroom floor, also hair on sink and toilet seat. At one point I found a centipede in my bathroom. Most concerning was that the bottles of water they leave in the room for guests were both OPEN. Why that would ever be the case is beyond my comprehension and is a health concern. The first day, a standard note was left by housekeeping stating that I had my do not disturb sign out but that if removed by no later than 3pm the room would be cleaned. I removed it at noon and went out the rest of the day. The room was not cleaned. They offered to waive my amenity fees, which I do appreciate. I asked for my receipt to be emailed to me which still has not been done.

Rooms are good size for NY. The area is really good and quiet. The walls of the rooms are thin though - you can hear the other rooms doors closing.

It’s not a bad hotel just not for business purposes. Great if you want to party. There are people consistently in the elevator going up to the rooftop bar.

The rooms are -very- small and poorly designed. There is a desk without any working outlets. The bathroom has no shelves inside the shower to place any soaps, shampoos, etc. There is a small hanging closet but no drawers for clothing — even in our upgraded room.

Soundproof room. Super comfy bed. Great location for exploring the tip of the island and World Trade Center. Plus easy subway access to everywhere. (Wall St. Station) Only negative would be the bedding- they use the British style of no top-sheet and the duvet is heavy and warm.

The rooms are tiny in this hotel. I hit my head on the shower head. Only one side of the bed has a bedside table. There is no closet. No way to open a large suitcase by the floor. One person could be fine in this but very tough with 2. Good housekeeping and air conditioning though.

My wife and I take frequent trips to NYC and often stay the night. In the past we have stayed at the Hotel Indigo on the Lower East Side as well as the Hotel Indigo Wall Street. We made reservations to stay at the Wall Street site as in the past, our experience was very positive. Prior to the event we were attending, I dropped off a bag as we were too early for check in. Upon returning for check in, we were advised by the hotel representative that there was an additional amenity fee. Really? When booking the reservation, there was no mention of this at all on the hotels.com website. As a matter of fact, upon returning home, I checked the site for future travel; and when a rate was quoted, a balloon appeared stating that there were no additional fees. We were advised by the hotel rep the fee applied because we booked through a third party (hotels.com). Now $30 is certainly not a big deal, but clearly there was no mention of this prior to booking. If so, I probably would have booked a different property. The only a amenity we were able to take advantage of us was 2 bottles of water. So we check ii and I presented a claim ticket for the bag. Ten minute wait to retrieve the bag! But it gets better. We go our assigned room, open the door and there is luggage, an unmade bed and wet towels on the floor. Back to the lobby and the hotel rep responds" we can that luggage right out of there". No thanks, we'll take another room. Decent room, but poor customer service.

I loved the hotel and the staff was friendly. One staff member even made me feel like I knew him forever as he told me about different places to go and what not. When I stay in nyc again, I will choose this location.

The hotel’s location is excellent, making it very convenient for travelers. The service at the lounge was fantastic, with attentive and friendly staff. However, I was disappointed with the front desk staff during the night shift. They seemed impatient for no reason, and during checkout, they kept interrupting me and didn’t let me finish speaking. This made for a less-than-pleasant service experience.

This hotel charge me twice for my stay and still hasn’t refunded me the money that I didn’t authorize for them to charge.

The reception staff are absolutely amazing. They assisted us with directions, kept our luggage while we had some time to kill before catching the flight home. They looked after us well.

When we checked in they gave us keys for the wrong room that someone else was in.

My check-in experience was great. Nicole did everything right. However the check out experience was the worst experience I’ve ever had traveling anywhere.

The hotel is dishonest. I asked ahead of time around 4am if early check in would be possible as I had been traveling for 24hrs and did not want to wait in the lobby for 5 hours for check in. They assured me it would be and to go ahead and book for “pre check in”. When I arrived slightly later than the time I told them I would at 9:45am the person at the front desk told me they were sold out. I ended up waiting until 2pm in the lobby exactly what I was trying to avoid. Also, various people checked out as I waited and felt they could have cleaned those rooms faster and offered them to me. No apology or anything was offered to me. The room is clean but there’s oddly no phone in the room and you have to go downstairs for anything.

Location near south street seaport and nyc ferry pier. Took ferry to Brooklyn, rented bikes and rode along new shoreline then took car iver to museum for Spike Lee exhibit. Next day took ferry upto 34th st., bike to 60th st., then Roosevelt Island Tramway. I love NY.

I think the construction in the street made it very hard to reach the hotel

This was a nice place; convenient to subway stops and within walking distance of the waterfront.

Everything was good. Staff was super friendly. Chinatown, Staten Island Ferry, 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church are all 10-20 min walk from the hotel. Pier 11 is a 3 min walk from hotel. You can catch the ferry there to go to Dumbo & Brooklyn bridge. Subway station to go to Times Square is a 5 min walk. Also many food options around the hotel. Would stay here again!

Clean room, great location, quiet. Comfortable bed. Well-equipped. I like the little store that you can purchase essentials at 24/7. Perfect spot to go to restaurants, attractions and public transportation.

Great location in the financial district for getting around the city at a really great price!

Excellent service and the location is ideal walking distance to the Seaport and train station. Very convenient.

Hotel is excellent location and room is nice. Tip for management: we had prepaid breakfast, but was still presented with a bill and had to pay a service fee. Great way to ruin an otherwise good experience. We the people don't care if it's legal or not to invent an extra service fee -- "paid" or "included" breakfast means that.

The young woman at the front desk, as we arrived to drop off our bags, way before check out was extremely nice and bubbly. Also sent just to a great deli down the street for lunch. Upon returning late in the evening, our bags were ready for us and we were checked into our rooms by Noah who again was just wonderful. The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant and the server was again absolutely wonderful. Very friendly, very efficient and really took great care of us. I must say the eggs Benedict and the breakfast potatoes were the best I think I’ve ever had! And we love to eat Upon check out both gentlemen behind the desk were very very nice as well. Overall, it was a lovely experience and we will definitely stay there again. Oh, I forgot prior to our arrival I had actually called and got a human being. Spoke to a human being and they helped me with the parking garage situation.

Nice hotel with a good location. Rooms in back were very quiet. Like many NY rooms, it was small but nicely done. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lobby restaurant had a great breakfast which we purchased with room.

The hotel is in a good location, but it wasn’t worth the price, and I felt scammed. It stated that breakfast was included, but all they provided was a sandwich and a drink. I moved to the Holiday Inn next door, where they offered a full buffet breakfast. There was no kettle in the room to make tea. Instead, they made me go downstairs to the restaurant just to get hot water. The restaurant manager told me that for $19, they can’t provide a full breakfast — but I didn’t pay $19 to the restaurant. I paid the hotel, which advertised breakfast as included. They also charged me multiple deposits instead of just one. I contacted the hotel, and they promised I would receive my deposit in a few days, but it has now been over a week. This is very unprofessional. The hotel restaurant manager is dishonest and behaved like a crook and the receptionists.
