Isle of Skye Guest House

Just off the roundabout over the Skye bridge this is a fantastic base for travelling around Isle of Skye. We had a twin bed garden room which is situated around the side and to the rear of the main house, this would have been helpful to know in the welcome email giving you the access code and room number as would have saved time trying to locate our room in the main house. In the main house is a communal lounge and breakfast room offering complimentary cereal boxes, porridge pots, cereal bars and yogurts which can also be taken to your room to be consumed. In our room we overlooked a roughly grassed playing area for kids to play football, with nets provided, but saw a deer with her 2 offspring playing around whilst mum was eating berries from the hedgerow. Another plus was the available parking both to the main house and garden rooms

The property was lovely. Our room was in the back Garden House and upstairs.....very steep and narrow stairs to get up to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast room in the main building was bright and cheery, and had tea, instant coffee, milk and a limited supply of cereal. We had a visit of 3 deer in the side garden later in the evening.

Lack of communication regarding there is actually 2 buildings and not one. Took us a bit to make sure we read all the signage on the building to find our room. tucked behind the main building, down a driveway to another building in the back. Limited parking at second building. We had to park at the main building and walk on the dark down a not very well lit alley to get to our room. Room was lovely. Location convenient.

Beautiful and quiet property. We stayed two nights in the garden section toward the back and one night in the main house It was charming and we were able to walk right to Kyleakin Would stay again!

The grounds, common room, and bedroom were great. It is a very pretty view with the gardens surround the home. The only issue was the lack of water pressure in the shower, but otherwise we loved our stay.

The Isle of Skye Guest House was a decent, fairly convenient spot for seeing some of the sites on the Isle of Skye. Rooms were basic and small. The self check-in was easy, but this place somehow lacks a feeling of welcome. The lobby, sitting room and large dining room with big windows to the lawn and trees looked interesting, and have a lot of potential as lively meeting places. But they were huge, cold, and sterile, crowded with chairs, not encouraging guests to engage with each other. We did enjoy the music selection in the speaker that was always playing. The free breakfast was a stack of cold cereal boxes and a small fridge with milk and yogurt. There was one hot pot for boiling water for the instant coffee, tea and hot chocolate, and it always seemed to be empty. On our first morning we were disappointed the coffee/water was out, and there was no one to ask about it. I called the phone number provided and was told I had to add water to the pot. I asked exactly where I was supposed to find the sink, should I bring the pot to our room and fill it in the bathroom? The woman said to look under the table (which was covered by a long cloth) for bottles of water, and I should boil the water for everyone. Really?! At the least, there should be a note to tell guests where to find the water to fill the pot.

The Guest House is an unassuming place. At first glance it doesn't look like much, but the rooms are cozy and nice. It's self check-in/check-out, but there is a lobby/lounge area and one of the few places we stayed that had a microwave if you are in need. The rooms were stocked with nice breakfast items and heated bathrooms. We did stay in the off season, so dining was unfortunately limited around the area as most places were only open part of the week or closed early. Overall, a nice place tucked in Isle and easily driveable to plenty of locations.

Good location, plenty of available parking, easy checkin.

Basic but comfortable. Bathroom faucet (#4) loose and needs fixing. Appreciated having coffee in room and would have liked to have at breakfast as well as some fruit for cereal. Enjoyed dinner at Saucy Mary’s nearby.

The Guest House was easy to find, located just over the bridge of Isle of Skye. Plenty of parking. No service staff on hand. Continental breakfast supplied in room. Overall a pleasant stay. Our room was spotlessly clean & a comfortable bed.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Isle of Skye Guest House. Checking in was a breeze. The building is so charming and the room was squeaky clean and the view of the garden was so refreshing. The moonlight over the garden at night was a memory I'll have forever! The location was convenient and was the perfect layover on our way to explore Isle of Skye. The property was quiet and we loved the in-room breakfast foods and snacks. Also, I accidentally left my coat behind, and the hotel is graciously helping me retrieve it. I would love to stay here again.

Garbage bin outside building was overflowing when we arrived, was still the same 2 days later when we left. In the guest lounge/dining area they have a sign that says breakfast is 6AM to 10AM, but it is just cereal, cereal bars and a fridge with milk and yogurt that is available all day. The sign almost implied that something else would be available during the breakfast hours, but there isn't. There is a toaster in the breakfast area, but no bread or anything available to toast. For the price paid, would have expected more.

The shower had some mold in it

Room was very comfortable and clean. Check in was very easy. Good parking. Absolutely no complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable, spacious rooms. Great service. The location is perfect as a base to explore the island.

The breakfast bar was a terrible mess. Dirty dishes…nothing cleaned…on both mornings of my stay I had to clean a few dishes so I had utensils to eat with. Otherwise, the rooms were ok.

We recently stayed at this guesthouse and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The self-check-in process was seamless, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches in the room, including snacks, milk, yogurt, instant coffee, and tea for each of us. However, there were a few issues that detracted from the stay. We encountered three spiders and a live moth on the walls, and found a pop tab and some debris on the floor. Additionally, the toilet required a double flush each time due to an old septic system. The walls were also noticeably thinner than at typical hotels, which made it easy to hear the neighbor talking—though they may just talk loudly. While these issues didn't ruin our stay, they did affect the overall comfort.

The bathroom was very dirty and the shower had plumbing issues that caused it to backflow all the toilet and basin dirt into it. We couldn't take a shower or use the bathroom at all. I have pictures

This is a nice property and very clean. However, we were surprised at how small our room was given how much we paid for the room.

The accusations were nice, mattress a little hard. Would love to have had USB connectivity and better WiFi

The Bad: The rooms are not very big. Showers are really small. Beds are not very comfortable. There was mold in the bathroom and windows. The good: Property is clean. Very easy check in. They do give you an assortment of breakfast essentials in your room.

What a horrible experience. Large room and really hot water only good points. Furniture from the 1950s and should have been discarded decades ago. One of the worst mattresses ever slept on. Should have been thrown away decades ago as well. Breakfast virtually nonexistent - yogurt and cereal pretty much it. Not much for $295 a night. Don’t stay here, please.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Check in was very easy. Good parking. Absolutely no complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

Decent property but very noisy. All guests can be heard between rooms. Only cereal and some yogurt for breakfast. Restaurants there don’t open until 10 am so more choices at the hotel would be good.

Room was fine but in the “garden” area in the back and up very steep and narrow spiral staircase. Once we got into room it was fine.

This was a unique place to stay and we enjoyed the surroundings. The host was very responsive to my phone call when I had trouble locating check-in information. I later realized that it had been emailed to me that same day, but I hadn't seen it due to driving most of the day. There were good recommendations for restaurants and in-room breakfast options (yogurt, oatmeal, milk, cereal, etc) were available in the room, which we appreciated. We stayed in the garden house and while it was an older building, the facilities were more than adequate, and we enjoyed the setting.

This is a self-check-in hotel. We never met any staff, and never saw any staff. There is nothing at the hotel so you need to walk or drive to get food and drinks. The continental breakfast (included) was the worst I have ever seen. Almost nothing there, not even fresh coffee (only instant). Not even coffee cups! I believe they expected you to bring your coffee cup down from your room! A few boxes of cereal, only one type of pre-packaged yogurt in the fridge (toffee) and no staff to be seen. It was more like a youth hostel. We left and drove to a nearby coffee shop.

For what I paid for the room, it was not worth it. When we showed up, somebody else was in our room because they gave them our room instead so they had to get out luckily they hadn’t done anything too much in the room yet.

Well located between Isle of Skye and Port William for scenic routes and hikes. Fire alarm went off at 11:30 pm and management took time to show up and fix the situation despite being ‘on premises.’ Cute family room set up with two separate areas for kids/parents. However requesting housekeeping that took out trash daily required a follow-up phone call. Overall pleasant stay but can be improved in several aspects.

Our code did not work on our second day thankfully we had friends and family staying. We could get in with their Code otherwise with no service staff around I am afraid we would've had trouble getting into the building. Breakfast was terrible no cups for coffee or tea no silverware to use.

The room was clean, but cold. We asked to be put in ground floor, since one of us is disabled, but got a second floor room instead. The person had a hard time, climbing the stairs and was not abled to bring her suitcase up

This is a very nice guest house-very clean and easy to do self-check in. Jade and Craig sent all the necessary information.

Property was clean and pleasant. Somewhat impersonal with check in, breakfast, and checkout without staff. I did not see a staff person during my two night stay. Breakfast was prepackaged food products, but was adequate. Room was nice and parking easy. Breakfast room pleasant. There was a number to call for emergencies.

Guest house is located very close to the Bridge and offers a nice view… There is an indian restaurant close by. There is co-op store as well where you can literally get everything you need for a comfortable stay :)

Great place right in the entrance to Isle of Skye.

Charming, comfortable and spacious. It was a great place to stay at. Check-in was easy, communication prior to our stay was very informative and once there, everything is well marked. The location is convenient, right at the entrance of the Isle of Skye and there are restaurants within walking distance.

We enjoyed our stay in #10- the quad family room. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. The shower was lovely- the temperature control that made sense! A refrigerator is always a plus for us as a family member is diabetic and we need to store insulin. The breakfast is basic but the instant oatmeal gave us a fair start to the day.

We had a great stay. You will likely need a car to stay at this property as there is limited options for walking to restaurants. We appreciated the cereal/milk/oats provided for breakfast. It was easy to find from the Skye bridge.

Fairly basic room with a very clean bathroom. Entry requires a code and room only locked from the inside which was awkward for our family of four. Very quiet and convenient location. Breakfast was prepackaged granola bars or yogurt, no coffee just tea. If you’re low fuss and just looking for a place to stay for a night this would be a good option.

Hotel unmanned. access via code sent on day of booking. Accommodation fine and location good. Needing and requested "Gluten Free " breakfast did not materialise so left hungry. Will find a serviced hotel next time.
