Hotel Central

The bar area was closed in the evening so there was no where to sit and relax.

It is shown "Elevator" on the Expedia web. When I arrived at the hotel, I was assigned a room 503 which is on the 5th floor and the elevator only to the 4th floor, it means it should take the stairs form 4th floor to 5th floor. I am almost 78 years and it is very hard to carry luggage for the stairs. I asked to change the room to lower floor, but not got it. It was very bad.

Clean room. Very easy parking available. Excellent breakfast buffet included.

No restaurant, bar was never open. Not a pretty view from roomwindow. Breakfast Okay.

The area is just across from the central station. Trams are also very frequent in the area. It about 15-minute walk to Tkalčićeva where restaurants abound. There also many restaurants close by. On the right side of the property is the main park where you can rest under the shade of the trees especially on hot days. The property is clean with a lift that only goes to the 4th floor. The hotel has 5 floors. Make sure to check which floor is your room when you book. The staff serving breakfast are quite nice and friendly.

Parking was a little tough til we figured it out But the place was so walkable and everyone was so polite Breakfast was a bonus Would stay again

Vi hade via e-post meddelat behov av parkering. Vid ankomst blev vi först anvisade att parkera på gatan, där det inte fanns några lediga parkeringar. Därefter hänvisades det till ett publikt garage öppet 24/7, vilket blev det alternativ som vi fick välja. Frukosten var bra. Generellt upplevde vi hotellet som slitet. Pratade med en trevlig städerska vid något tillfälle när kort nyckeln inte fungerade. Receptionen får underbetyg. Vid incheckning såg personalen att jag kom in i receptionen, de valde dock att gå i väg på ett ärende och lät mig vänta i ca 10 minuter innan de kom tillbaka. Min familj fick då sitta i bilen och vänta utanför. På morgonen betalar min fru de lokala skatterna. Vi glömmer initialt att be om hjälp att betala för parkeringen vilket vi informerats om kvällen innan. När vi kommer på det och ber om hjälp upplever jag attityden från mannen bakom disken som direkt ovänlig. Priset för vistelsen i förhållande till andra hotell i den här prisklassen är för högt. Kostnaden för 1 natt var i samma härad utan rabatter som vi hade Wien natten innan på ett betydligt bättre hotell med jämförbart eller till och med bättre läge. Summerat: Ett sunkigt hotell med otrevlig receptionspersonal.

The breakfast was very lovely. The hotel itself is not bad, but the 5th floor (which is where I was) does not have elevator (lift) access, so you have to go to 4th floor and then lug your belonging to the 5th floor. The room and the entire corridor smelled like cigarette smoke even though it clearly states everywhere in the hotel that it is non-smoking. The amenities in the room were perfectly fine and everything was working. Except for shower, lot of water spilled on the floor as there was no barrier. Water pressure was absolutely amazing and the drains worked really good too. Location itself, even though it is city center, it is quite far away from the main square on foot, be ready. It is across from the train station which is good location but if you are wanting to do things in and around the main square (which is where most attractions are), you might want to re-think unless you don't mind walking 17 minutes at the minimum.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Room walls/carpet hadn’t been washed/shampooed in ages. Bathroom had been updated. Very nice.

Upon leaving the reception area and reaching the third floor the smell of cigarette smoke became extremely strong. Stale Cigarettes covered with cheap perfume smell throughout the lobby and corridors and continuing to a lesser degree into the room. Very unpleasant especially due to the muggy heat. The carpet in the room was dated and worn and it turned out…..flea infested! Ankles and lower legs covered in bites that could not have come from elsewhere due to clothing and footwear making it impossible. Staff were fairly unfriendly - we had already mentioned cigarette smoke and been dismissed - so we decided not to bother approaching them about bites. We would strongly advise avoiding this hotel On the plus side if you do insist on staying here the breakfast buffet was extensive and adequate and the staff in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful

The shower heads were black from the lack of cleaning. The 3 star hotel really should be more of a 2 star. The rooms were dingy

Hotel is perfectly located right next to the train station, tram stop and one of the green parks and is very clean. Breakfast had something for everyone and was quite tasty. Room was clean but the pillows were very uncomfortable.

Very clean and comfortable. Easy walk to the main square and Zagrebs sites. Parking is literally across the street in front of the hotel if you need it. The breakfast buffet is amazing! Only drawback is the wifi isn’t good. Other than that, excellent hotel!

From the entrance, the staff was welcoming and professional.. the room was great. I liked how the bedroom was separate from a desk area. The WiFi was excellent. The room clean. My only problem was it was stuffy and the air con didn’t work too well. But that was all..the location is just across from the train station. As I was traveling out by train it was very convenient. It’s also not far from the bus station. Dont take the taxi, they will overcharge you. Call a Uber. None of that bs. There’s a small laundromat around the corner. Five euro per wash, 2 per 15 min dry. The city is fantastic. Too much to say, but it was All Saints Day so a lot was closed the weekend. Still plenty to do. Recommend you go to all the sites you can research, but especially the Museum of Broken Relationships. Also there is a supermarket the other side of the station in an underground area. Very good stuff— get the pistachio yogurt! Addicted! The breakfast at the hotel is plentiful and varied. Would recommend the hotel for that alone. They even served decaf coffee, a first I’ve experienced in Europe. There was ice, mustard, lots of good stuff. I’ve been traveling for a month and never saw any of that. I highly recommend this hotel. This about a 20- minute walk to the center of town, but you go through a beautiful park the entire way… or take the tram. Enjoy this place and the wonderful Zagreb!

Nicely updated room with quiet airco. Amazing breakfast

Hotel served its purpose. Rooms small, dark, old, not very updated. Stayed here following international flight just to get sleep, very average. Morning buffett breakfast was excellent and honestly the only reason I would stay here again in future. Expectations based on ratings were much higher than reality.

Hotel was fine, great location to the station. Room had everything we needed only downside was the noise from outside, even with the window closed you can hear the station announcement and traffic etc. breakfast was good, kept been refilled and tables cleared quickly.

I chose this hotel for one night because of its proximity to the train station and from the pictures on the site. From outside the hotel looks modern but from inside it is a partially renovated old building that it is just ok. The room even after renovation looks old styled but the bathroom is better. Overall I had a good sleep with an average breakfast the next morning and a price definitely not value for money

The location is excellent while the room is clean and tidy. However, our room is facing the main road and so it is very noise. Also, the wifi is bad.

I was disappointed with the unfriendly staff and the bad room condition.

My husband and I stayed 19 nights at this hotel. I have to say, it’s clean and comfortable and centrally located to the sites, stores, restaurants and such. It’s directly across the street from the train station where we are catching a train to Germany tonight. The housekeeping staff is wonderful. We felt very taken care of. The blonde housekeeper working the 2nd floor deserves a raise! She’s wonderful! The breakfast buffet is really good. Such a large assortment of foods. Overall, we had a great stay! They are pet friendly and we stayed with our dog. The negatives are the two EXTREMELY grouchy old men who work the front desk. They are unhelpful, rude and condescending. One threw a tv remote at my husband and said it wasn’t his problem that it didn’t work. I personally heard him talking on the phone to future guests and was condescending and rude and hung up the phone on them. The other front desk staff were fine. These two old men are AWFUL! Something should be done about them as they are the face of the hotel. I can’t understand being so nasty to guests. I asked to have a 1 hour late check out. After staying 19 nights, it would have been a nice gesture. Nope, the grumpy old man said NO!

Everyone is always really great. I always stay here and it's always great. They allowed me to check in earlier than 1 and I really appreciated that. Best service.

O hotel e bem localizado. Contudo, os funcionários nao sao preparados para receber estrangeiros. Nao tem nenhuma boa vontade para ajudar ou explicar como funcionam as coisas. So sabem do Hotel e se precisar de algo que saia do padrao, esqueça! Problema seu! Medonho o tratamento.

My second time at Hotel Central and the staff service and room location is wonderful, breakfast buffet was great and service of the staff at restaurant is excellent!, Tibor from my first visit has been amazing arranging my advance booking on my second visit to my favorite room. I would definitely comeback. Keep it Guys for a job well done!

Very helpful check-in clerk. I arrived super early and he kindly let me check in. The room was clean, modern and very quiet. The breakfast buffet has excellent choices. There was a variety of cooked options, continental breakfast, cereals, cakes, fruits and breads. The staff in the breakfast area work hard to keep the food replenished. This hotel is opposite the train station, 15 minutes walk to the bus station and all the main attractions are within walking distance. I would stay here again.

as per reviews staff border on either bored or rude but they are not interested in smiling, engaging or anything at all just got our bags from storage, asked the guy about getting them and he pointed to a door - that was it breakfast exceptional and one standout young guy there that actually spoke and smiled and said “good morning” after reading reviews appears management are not interested in ensuring customer service is a priority which is a shame cleaning ladies were incredibly pleasant, maybe they should be on reception

Conveniently located across from the main train station, right on a tram line which is two stops away from the main bus station. Short walk past impressive parks to the square of Ban Josip Jelačić and all the shopping and dining that surrounds it.

Hotel is perfectly located directly across from the main train station, a 10 minute walk to both the main bus station and central square in Zagreb. The hotel is in good decor condition. The room allocated was spacious, clean and comfortable. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided by the hotel was good with hot and cold options available. It would have been nice to have had a complementary bottle of water as the hotel did not have any vending machines.

Med kort vei fra jernbanestasjonen er dette et utmerket sted for den som skal forlate byen med et tidlig tog. Og hotellet legger det fint til rette, i og med at det er frokost allerede fra kl. 06. God frokost!
