Stayed here the day/night before our cruise. Beautifully restored home. Walkable to the Strand area for shopping, dining, etc. Great breakfast. Provided secure parking and transportation to and from the cruise port.

Lovely southern home. We had a whole apartment separate from the house which had everything. All the amenities you would need. The breakfast was great; served in a beautiful dining room. Close to downtown for a tour we took and also very close to the cruise port. But the thing that made the stay so enjoyable was the staff. Valerie the owner was so friendly and James was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to help us.

Excellent experience. The afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast were beyond excellent! Our hosts and chef were outstanding. For example my wife wanted a particular cheese on her salad which they didn't have so our host sent someone to a local market to get it.

Beautiful B&B, The staff was amazing! The only draw back were stairs only, but Michael helped with the suitcases and the bathroom was separate from the room. The food was wonderful! They did anything possible to accommodate our needs. They had a shuttle for very reasonable price to the port. We definitely recommend this place!

We stayed at the George Manor the day before our cruise and the day we returned. Such a beautiful place to stay and the staff treat you like family. Valerie was so helpful before our trip, during and afterwards. Rosy and Michael are the sweetest too. They all went out of their way to make our stay extra nice! We also purchased the parking/transportation for the cruise through them and it was too-notch! Safe gated area to leave our car and so nice to be dropped off/picked up in a timely fashion. We look forward to visiting again!

Property is gorgeous. Service was top-notch as we were quickly checked in and escorted to our suite by Michael. Suite was huge and beautiful. Comfortable bed, extras like free snacks and drinks, robes, slippers, etc. The property is gorgeous. Excellent breakfast included. Full English tea offered on weekends, which I will definitely take part in next time. Will be returning! A hidden gem!

This was our second stay at The George and expectations were met again. We dined at The George our first night. They have an excellent German Chef who makes some tasty dishes. They have a bar as well with a good selection. We stayed in Grande suite and loved that it was separated from the main house. It has plenty of space for two people. A quick drive to the Strand and the Harbour. We loved it.

The full English breakfast was to die for. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our every need, including special up-close parking to help with my mobility challenges. The bar was charming and they bent over backwards to accommodate our guest who came to join us for cocktails.

Don’t miss out on their restaurant. The German chef is amazing! The George Manor is absolutely gorgeous and very unique. The room was quiet and very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and the service was exceptional.

Lovely place to stay. The staff, most importantly Jeff, were all very nice and took care of everything we needed. Parking for our cruise and pickup was super easy. Can’t wait to stay with you all again!

We really appreciated the location and the hospitality of the staff/owners. The room was very outdated, the bathroom was not fully functioning and cleanliness was lacking. The shower had the left over toiletries from the previous guests. This would be an absolutely wonderful hotel with some interior updates.

Absolutely lovely manor that is professionally maintained and squeaky clean. Comfy beds. Excellent Wi-Fi. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Exceptional chef onsite. Upscale bar with top shelf liquors and wines. And…..owners who are often in house and readily available to make your stay unforgettable.

Beautiful historic place. Bathroom redone and very clean. We stayed in a suite with kitchen. They provided transportation to cruise terminal and car parking for an extra fee. But well worth it! Rosie and Michael were very pleasant. Bar opens at 5 for guests. My husband loved his German meal. The only negative was a smoke smell in the living area of our room. Smoking is not permitted, but the previous guest did not adhere to the rules. It is not the host’s fault because they did everything they could, including washing the draperies and all the bedding. This place is a real gem and we will definitely be back!! Highly recommend.

Very friendly staff and easy parking on the street blocks away from the cruise port. They also offer long term parking for cruises if you do not want to park at the port. Rooms were very clean, large and beautiful. We were in the White Suite in the main house and staff were very attentive. There is meal service in the dinning room and breakfast made to order. The owner George is very freindly and came out to introduce himself and chat during breakfast. First class bed and breakfast. Will stay again when we are in Galveston next time.

Suite was old, dusty, drafty and smelled of rotting wood. It was cold throughout the night. The front door had no insulation and let in the cold air. The room did not have any smoke detectors. Not worth the $$$ paid!

Positive: I loved the history of the property. The suite that we stayed in was very spacious for the 2 of us and it was nice to have a full kitchen even though we didn’t cook on it. The ice maker was nice to have but we realized we should have turned it off at night because it was noisy throughout the night. The bed was comfortable. The full English breakfast was outstanding. The staff were pleasant. Negative: the shower had very low pressure and the water temperature was hard to control, either really hot or really cold. The sink water faucet’s hot/cold water was backwards. The walls and ceiling were touched up with mismatched paint and made the room look sloppy. We could not get the tv (Roku) to work. The courtyard looked like someone went to a lot of trouble in the past to make it beautiful but no one has weeded it this year so it looked very neglected.

Everything from the suite, to the whole property, the breakfast, and especially the staff were excellent! Valerie, Graham, Rosi and Jeff treated everyone like family and went out their way to make us comfortable and feel welcome. Michael cooked up a delicious breakfast on Saturday, and Graham cooked up an equally delicious breakfast on Sunday. Can't say enough about the Excel Suite, it's basically a small apartment with a stove, an ice maker a small fridge, coffee maker and all you would need. The towels and robes are super soft, better than any hotel. A few blocks from from the Seawall, and the Strand, both great places to visit.

We stayed in the Grand Suite! It was amazing:) loved the fluffy robes in the bathroom:) this room is separate from main building. Beautiful and so spacious! The staff Rosey and James made this trip special. Loved the information and history. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing to enjoy. We even met a new kitty that adopted them “Milo” and which my son loved:) Close to port, as we walked to cruise ship terminal. Close to Strand. Lots to do and see.

Great place with lots of history. Mansion was built in the 1800s and was recently restored. We stayed in one of the newer apartments built in the 1950s, very roomy one bedroom with a modern bathroom and kitchenette.

Great space upstairs in the suite however low water pressure and not enough shelving and/or hooks in the bathroom were the reasons I marked down to a four. We loved all the included drinks and snacks, the staff, the breakfast, and the entire place, however, and would return :)

We’ve stayed at this property in the past and we love it! Our only issue are and we didn’t have these issues with our first stay, was the heater was not very powerful and it was freezing! It took all night for it to be bearable. The bed was too low and the sheets didn’t fit properly. The shades in the restroom didn’t fit over the window completely leaving gaps and not giving us much confidence about privacy. The water pressure was also very low. For the price point, I probably won’t books this property again, especially during cooler temperatures. The staff were very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know.

The staff were outstanding! One of the best places we have stayed and we have travelled all over the world. James, a wealth of knowledge and kindness. We could sit and listen to him for hours and hours. Rosi, all smiles and genuine concern for your how you are and what you need. Chef Michael, your food is amazing and it was so great to hear your stories! Valerie was on top of any questions you had! I would beyond highly recommend the George Manor to anyone who truly understands travelling and having he best experience ever!

We were traveling to Galveston to board Carnival Dream to celebrate our a 50th wedding anniversary . From start to finish.. Valerie helped me create the perfect plan . Transportation (both to and from ) IAH ( houston airport ) was provided -- private car-- Suggestions of attractions were most helpful We were able to walk to The Strand ( a Must do) We attended My Fair Lady produced by ETC ( a local theatre group) We visited the Aquarium at Moody Gardens had a private tour of Moody mansion {worth every $} and had a delicious delectable private meal at George Manor prepared by Michael {the chef!!!!!} Sunday morning we were provided a beautiful breakfast True Texan hospitality! and transportation by private car to board our ship...Upon return we were greeted by Jeff who had been our chauffeur As we had early departure from the ship we had time to relax at the George manor before catching our early afternoon flight from IAH . Every detail was perfect. Rosie the housekeeper attended to our every whim. Valerie and her husband were gracious hosts.IF you are looking for comfortable congenial atmosphere in historical Galveston THIS IS the place. Our thanks to the staff for making our time there most memorable.

The staff and stay at GM, was amazing. The apartment was quaint and cute and had everything we needed. I can’t say enough about James. He’s a historian and knows everything TX and more… from carrying our bags, picking us up from the airport, taking us to the ship and will pick us up again and take us to the airport. Thank you James!! Valerie made our arrangements for driver services and explained accommodations, which was great! Rosie is like 5 people in 1. She’s housekeeping, waitress, and will carry your luggage too. She’s super human. Her husband chef Michael made a delicious breakfast. The grounds and up keep are beautiful. I recommend and will return. 5 stars.

I cannot say enough praise for The George Manor! From the staff to building, from the mural on the wall to the tea served at High Tea Time, everything had a story! The owner was so sweet and took the time to answer every question, the chef was amazing and had so much richness to share of his life, the property and the city itself, the bed gave me the greatest night sleep of my entire life, and the breakfast and tea time were so amazingly authentic it took me back to my time in the UK eating full English breakfasts every week! We will never stay in an overpriced hotel again!

Graham was an excellent host, the included English breakfast was awesome, and we slept just fine. Good location and far enough from the strand where the nightlife wasn't bothersome. Overall a very nice experience and if I ever take a cruise from this port again ill certainly stay at The George Manor.

My visit was quick but very enjoyable. The staff is excellent. Breakfast was delicious. The place overall took me back to a luxurious hotel stay straight out of the 1800s. The bar and dining area is lovely. I loved it and would highly recommend it.

A MUST STAY! This Bed and Breakfast is an amazing place to stay for those who love history, excellent customer service, and incredibly delicious cuisine. Even if you don't stay there, have a fabulous meal at their cozy restaurant. The four-course meal was one of the best meals we have ever had. Even the chef came out to make sure everything was to our liking. Definitely a 5-star dining experience!
