What a wonderful find it was for us. Great location, wonderful sizable cabin like room. Loved the patio that had both the Jacuzzi and a coal BBQ in it. We also loved the fireplace in the room. It was perfect to use it when it got cold at night. All this while facing an amazing view of the ocean and the forest that leads to it. Few wonderful trails on the property for you to explore the wonderful area. A breath taking sunset is something to look forward for when there is no fog over the water.

Beautiful property location. Nice clean rooms. Main Hot tub is not working, there was a 3-person hot tub that wouldn't heat past 97 degrees. Maintenance guy scolded us abt hot tub cover. Mold on curtain. Front desk staff was awesome.

We had a great mid week get away. The grounds and view are beautiful and peaceful. We loved the hot tub ans the hot sauna. Also, hearing the ocean and the sea lions was so special. We will be back.

Second time staying here. Property and rooms neglected. Patio area barrier fence with dirty window never cleaned or weeds trimmed. Flies from pets poop unacceptable. Nobody cleans up their poop. Room not cleaned second day. Fireplace ashes left from previous guest. Hot tub water low and wasn’t fresh/clean. Beautiful location and enjoyed bbq and hospitality. A little over priced for stated reasons.

This place was exactly what we were seeking. Its location was relatively convenient despite being as blissfully remote as we were aiming for. The striking beauty of the area was enhanced by the careful balance of thoughtful landscaping with maintaining the natural flora. The solid WiFi allowed us to stay as connected as we wanted to be, and the hot tub, gym, and sauna were excellent. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the local community treated us as if we were their future neighbors as opposed to tourists or travelers passing through.

Room was fantastic; bed extremely comfortable, hot tub very relaxing. Water in the hot tub needs to be changed more frequently and the room needed a more thorough cleaning, lots of spider webs and the fan threw dust everywhere when we turned it on. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we would consider coming back in the future.

This is the most over priced venue I have ever seen. Extremely dated. Not clean at all. My wife wouldn't even use the shower. This is evidence that anything can look good on the internet. Much much better options available in the same or lower price point.

It’s situated and perfectly placed rooms are great. The room’s cleanliness needs a bit of tweaking. There was a pretzel under one bed, the floors & baseboards behind the beds is dirty, and the bathroom floor had debris in the corners. I would also recommend adding another towel hook or bar as the towels didn’t dry over night. Regarding Summer, the cat: my niece and I think that she would really be happier inside. She is startled by every sound and movement, and she would really love to play. I was able to play with her using some plant material and I am sure she’d enjoy a catnip toy or two. Anyhoo, I think she would respond to patient & gentle encouragement to join you indoors.

Toilet and shower were not cleaned after previous guest; made me not want to use the dishes provided. Guest cabin was cozy and pleasant. Loved the open patio that gave access to a trail to the ocean. Every creature comfort provided, down to comfy robes, wine glasses and bbq with utensils. Would stay again.

The reception desk was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding natural scenery is beautiful, and the ambiance is quiet and peaceful. However, the shower cleanliness left something to be desired. Additionally, the plug on the hair dryer poses a safety risk and needs to be replaced.

Best part of this place is the view and location. Definitely need some upgrades, especially the beds. Me and my boyfriend had a rough time sleeping the bed was rock hard, at least the sheets smelled clean. The room was felt decently clean but the bathroom was questionable. They had soaps in old reusable containers; dish soap with a old dirty sponge next to it. Made me question what they wash the cups and silverware they provide with. Don’t think I would stay here again, but it was not a horrible experience.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t see our oven view because of the fog. The room could have been cleaner. They don’t clean the rooms during your stay as stated. I talked to the very personable manager about the cleaning and he said that they had fired 2 cleaners and hired new. I hope it works for them.

The room was spacious, there are windows high up that allow you to see the stars at night. The bathroom was newly renovated and beautiful. So was the living area, you could enjoy the view of the ocean, and we just loved the stay.

The front desk person was great and friendly. I got a dog-friendly room and since I was mid-week had the whole bank of rooms to myself, so very quiet. The area is super quiet and remote. The room was good. A bit dark since the only window was the sliding glass door. I wished I could lock the screen because I wanted to keep the sliding glass door open to hear the ocean. There was no locking mechanism. As a solo traveler It's these little things that help. The grounds were ideal to walk my dog before turning in. The landscaping is great and there's plenty of light at night. As a solo traveler I probably wouldn't stay again but seems like a nice place for a couple.

We liked the view of the ocean. Saw plenty of whales. However my wife is short and it was difficult for her to get in the bed since it was high. She also had a hard time getting in and out of the tub because the tub side was high and there were no grab bars.

Our stay was most enjoyable! Our room had an ocean view, a deep soaking tub and the perfect amount of kitchenette amenities for the one night we were there. All contacts with office staff were friendly and helpful. We definitely will be back!

The room was advertised as having an ocean view and while it did, it was an ocean view obstructed by the entire parking lot. At some point this view included a very tall sprinter van with its headlights on facing into our room. Additionally, to the poor view was a complete lack of privacy. The only choices for covering the sliding glass door, visible to the entire property, were blackout curtains. You could have privacy or you could have a view but you could not have both.

Because of a major storm, the power was out when we got to the lodge. However, the staff bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as they could. And they went beyond by giving us another day at no additional cost. In every way the customer service was outstanding. The lodge's natural setting is quiet and peaceful with a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are spacious, clean and well laid out. The flooring, wall colors, etc. show a pleasant artistic sensibility. And having easy access to a clean outdoor hot tub was a major plus for our relaxation. Conveniently, there is a small but well-stocked convenience store across the street, which includes a cafe serving great coffee and tasty foods. And even more conveniently, in an area of Northern California where gas stations are few and far between, the store also has gas pumps out front. We definitely will be going back for another wonderfully relaxing stay.

Staff went above and beyond, changing us to a better room without us even asking at check-in. Everybody was very friendly and courteous. Accomadations were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the views, the bbq grill, hot tub and star gazing. It was wonderful. We'll be back.

We had to check in rather late and they were very accommodating- they even had a fire going in our room when we arrived which was very welcoming. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. And of course, the location is incredible. What a view to wake up to!

We loved our overnight stay at Fort Ross Lodge during our ride up the coast. Josh was such a personable and kind host. The views were lovely and we especially enjoyed morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs facing the water and a couple soaks in the hot tub on our patio. We had a tasty breakfast Sammie from the lodge shop. Timber Cove resort just one mile north was lovely for a burger and live music. Would love to return!

Great property on the NorCal coast. Super quiet clean and private. Amber at check in was super and upbeat. We really enjoyed the serenity of the location and had a great meal at ocean cove three miles north. We stayed only one night but wish we stayed a second night.

They offer late arrival (after 6pm) self-check-in. I called and emailed to confirm the arrangement a few days before our stay. However, upon arrival, we found that they didn't leave our door open as they said they would. We had to wait outside of the hotel front office in the cold, dark night for the staff to come and open our door. They said they didn't leave our door open because my credit card on file didn't go through when they tried to run the charge before I arrived. Well, I booked this hotel six months in advance and the CC happened to be replaced during this time, but they didn't even bother to call/ email me. They just let us find it out in the hard way and wait anxiously to get into the room. We stayed for two nights, and there was no room cleaning after the first night. They didn't even bother to change our towels. We had to use the dirty towels for the second night. In addition, the building insulation was poor. The room gets very warm during the day and very cold during the night. What an unpleasant experience!

I I really like staying here. This was probably my 4th Trip there. Very casual, clean and quiet. And right on the bluffs overlooking the beach. The store right across the street has really improved its offerings, with a full deli and beer on tap.

Lovely spot with views. Too bad patio was messy with leaves and animal droppings. At night thought we'd have great stars but too many patio lights were on. Limited food options. Sandwiches from market across the street not very good.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was well equipped with silverware, dishes, microwave, fridge keurig etc. The wall heater did not work but we were given a plug in heater that was very efficient. We had a nice patio with chairs. The communal hot tub, sauna and fitness room are very nice. What I didn't like was that although we could see the ocean and hear it from our room you can't access the ocean from the property. There is a well stocked store across the street. There was good wifi and directv but no cell service. The office did not open until 10am. We had to leave our key in a box. There is no where to walk - you would have to go to the Fort Ross state park to do that. But it was quiet and comfortable.

Michael was great at check-in and room supplies. Room was good, hot tub was great but the jets are a little too much. Sauna was great. Wasn't too crazy about the Rueben served at the store across the street but maybe it was because Anthony did not make it. Pretty bland and skimpy for the price. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

This is a remote property and it’s best to just bring food and bbq on your patio. They provide plates silverware etc. get a room with a private jacuzzi. It’s very quiet and it’s a great place to disconnect from society. Very close drive to Ft Ross. Great to walk around and explore.

We made a last minute reservation for one night on NYE. We really appreciated the courtesy call the day before to let us know restaurant service in the area will be limited. The young man who checked us in was warm, knowledgeable, hospitable and funny. He also went above and beyond to help us find a new grill. The people in the market across the street were so kind. It has everything you forgot or didn’t think of. Our room didn’t have a private hot tub but we had the one in the common area to ourselves and utilized the sauna. If there is a room available with a hot tub pay the extra fee and book it! We were so relaxed and comfy in their firm pillow top bed that we didn’t make it to midnight. It was nice that they provided the coals for one BBQ. The gas fireplace gave off really great heat. Because of the heavy rains they’ve gotten, the trails to the coast line were a bit difficult to navigate and not soak your feet. Maybe pack some extra shoes, because walks on the property are so beautiful! We saw an amazing sunset, woke up at 3am for astrophotography, watched owls hunt for their dinner in the field just outside our room and then started our New Year’s Day with a beautiful sunrise.
