Two light globes not working in my room. Air conditioning does not appear to be working properly, too cold even after setting temperature at 24 degrees centigrade. Air vent very noisy, I needed ear plugs to go to sleep. One of two lifts not working so long waiting time for lift service.

I stayed at the hotel for 6 days. Initially 4 and then extended for a further 2. The hotel is ideally situated in downtown Perth. Easy access to shops, restaurants, bars, cafes etc. There are good public transport links close to the hotel. The main train station is only a 10 minute walk. The hotel staff were all very helpful, courteous and friendly. The room allocated was spacious, clean (cleaned each day) and comfortable. I used both the pool area and the gym and both were very good. The gym was well equipped. I didn’t use the hotel for food so can’t comment on that.

The Hotel was very handy for a walk to shopping and sightseeing. The room was good had all you would need. The swimming pool was a disappointment for us as when we went up to the top floor there was not enough chairs or loungers to sit on . So we never got to use it.

Not much sleep with noisy/ squeaky pipe works / water system! Stained / dirty armchairs in room, I had to put a towel on the chair to sit on it! $45 parking per day was very expensive! No toaster or microwave in room.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Perth for over two weeks, giving me plenty of time to experience all the hotel has to offer. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable, and the excellent breakfast each morning deserves a special mention. The variety, quality, and freshness of the options were outstanding and really set a great tone for the day. However, I did notice some significant deficiencies around health and safety at the pool area, which unfortunately dampened an otherwise positive experience. The pool shade area is currently undergoing works and has been closed off, leaving no shaded areas for guests by the pool—a real inconvenience in the Australian sun. Additionally, the pool deck has several loose floorboards, which I found quite concerning especially as we were on a family trip with children. These pose a significant hazard. This seems like a pressing issue that should be addressed promptly to ensure guest safety. (picture attached). The rest of the hotel, including the room comfort, staff friendliness, and central location, met my expectations for a Mercure property. If the health and safety issues around the pool area are resolved, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel wholeheartedly. Until then, I’d suggest proceeding with caution if you plan to spend time at the pool with children or even not, given the lack of shade,.

An enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Mercury. The room allocated was spacious, comfortable and clean. I used both the gym and swimming pool each day and both were very good. The gym was well equipped. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated with Perth city centre on a main bus route and 10 minutes walk to the main railway station in Perth.

The hotel room was not clean when we checked in . The toilet was dirty and dark yellow wee stains were around the toilet floor and I had to clean it. Also, the curtains were dirty, and the carpets had horrible stains . Lastly , the fan in the bathroom didn’t work the room would steam up .

There are two parts to the hotel, one side is refurbished and are the pictures displayed on the website and the second part is the old hidden side and where most holiday visitors are placed. It’s where the bathroom has cracked tiles and paint peeling in the tub. The carpet is stained with red wine, hand prints on the walls and dust covering the light fixtures. It wasn’t a relaxing experience.

Overall great location for walking into the city. Kids loved the pool facilities. Rooms were a great size however the bathrooms could really do with an update/decent scrub. Walls were defiantly not soundproof as noted on the booking website with a loud TV next door on til late.

The room felt outdated and very dirty - visible stains on carpet and just all round felt dusty and dirty. There was a beer glass outside of the room when I checked into the room and remained there for the whole of my stay !

Bathroom is tiny, old and dated. Noisey, can hear the next room and conversations in the corridor. The room service trays (not just ours) remained in the corridor for more than 12 hours and after the cleaning staff had gone through the rooms.

The bathroom in our room had no shower door so the whole bathroom floor would flood. I had to use every towel we had to clean up after a short shower so no one would slip. Reception said this is because it was a wheelchair access room, but feel this would be a hazard for anyone in a wheelchair also. Drainage was not adequate for this room.

Good location, easy walk around the CBD. Spacious room and quiet up on the top floor. Rooms a little tired, carpet needs replacing and bathrooms could do with a refresh. Large bathroom though, with a bathtub and separate shower.

It was a long overdue trip to Perth, after spending much time searching for the right accommodation I opted for Mecure which by most standards is and has been a good option. We weren’t overly disappointed because we didn’t spend all that much time in the room except for the latter part of our evening and a little bit in the morning. The bathroom was the greatest let down. No extractor fan meant after a shower the bathroom was muggy as could be, the shower itself is beyond tiny, the old style mixers meant regulating water temp was a problem, the wash basin has surface cracks. The overall room is in desperate need of a facelift but it’s ok, as average as average could be. My overall rating would be 2.5 to max 3 star rating. Would we return probably not. The best part of the accommodation was the location and that too our view was overlooking a very unsightly rooftop. Mercure…invest in a revamp! Last but not least we had the most inconsiderate bunch of people on our floor, made an absolute racket towards midnight and early morning.

Our only complaint is the quality of the bed, it did not provide a good sleep. Every time one person moved the whole bed shook, plus it felt smaller than a queen size bed and had some sort of plastic topping on the mattress which makes a terrible noise everytime you move.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and once again had another great stay. It is always my first choice when staying in the CBD, The service offered by Ella at the front desk, from check-in to check-out, was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for her. Also a shout out to the two maintenance guys (sorry I don't know their names) who tried to fix the safe in the first room I was allocated. Despite their efforts they had to close off the room and offered me a change of room with an upgrade to Room 1028. This was greatly appreciated and a very nice way to start my eight week trip around Western Australia with the first three night's in this room. I am staying here three more times during my trip, for a further ten night's, and am sure those stays will be as good as this one was Graham

Despite it being a very busy time for all the staff, with the Ashes Cricket Match starting the day I left, they were all as great as they normally are. I left my Computer Mouse in my room when checking out and only realised the day after. I went back and spoke to Kristal and then two others on Reception the next morning and they all could not do enough to help to try and locate it for me. The good news was when I went back on the third day after checking-out, they had found it for which I can't thank them enough for. A great service once again and I look forward to returning to the hotel again in a few days time for a weekend stay and also the further seventeen days I have booked here throughout December.

Didn’t like that they couldn’t find our booking, then booked us into a room that was already occupied and the fact that we could enter someone elses room was a concern. The breakfast was very average, there was a man stuck in lift when we arrived so with one working made time to check on and get around very timely

On arrival was offered an upgrade but unsure why. No milk in the fridge No information booklet When wanting room service the phone didn't work and had to use mobile. When enquiring about room service found out it was heavy expensive. Other people next to us allowed their children to play in the hallway past 2130 and again before 0730 the next morning. When explaining all of this to the receptionist at checkout all we got as a response was "oh I'm sorry about that". Won't stay again or recommend.

Once again I had another great two night's stay at this hotel. Nothing is too much bother for all the staff here. From Crystal sorting out my room for this and two other stays I have upcoming in December to Camilla who was very helpful and friendly while serving at the bar. I even went out for the day and realised I had left my laptop charged in and phoned reception and spoke to a lady who was working on Saturday morning who arranged for Housekeeping to go and unplug it. This was very helpful as I was out all day and my laptop does get hot if left charging for too long. I look forward to my next five day stay starting tomorrow.

The Mecure Irwin St was very well located. Some very helpful staff. David in Cucina in Hay was particularly good Some negatives Hot water was very hit and miss, cold most mornings. If you got to breakfast later than 8 you missed out on pastries, bacon,cold meats etc.

Hotel in convenient location to most activities we chose for our week long visit. Was easy to get to using a Transperth bus from the airport. Also on Red CAT bus route. Easy check in and staff very friendly. However, there were some very disappointing features. Room condition was poor - curtains were hanging off their hooks and sheets were not changed during our 5 night stay despite some marks we accidentally made on the top cover. Carpet was not well vaccuumed during our stay. Room service tray from the first night was not collected from outside our door for 3 days. The breakfast had lots of options but on 3 out of the 5 mornings the bain marie hot foods were empty and not replaced in the time we sat in the breakfast room. We had booked a superior double room but it didn't feel very spacious. Overall the location and staff made it welcoming - it felt like a staff shortage might be contributing to the issues. It

The hotel is relaxedly quiet and the staff are warm, professional, non-intrusive - yet helpful when needed. The bed was comfortable and the sheets crisp! It had all that was needed. The shampoo, conditioner & bodywash products were so delightful that I have ordered some for home use! I did need to request decaf coffee sachets & housekeeping promptly provided some. A shower cap might be a nice addition to the complimentary items available. And maybe an oatmeal or shortbread biscuit, to go with a cuppa? It was nice to have the tea, coffee & milk. Could maybe add hot chocolate sachets? The restaurant on the Mercure's Hay Street entrance serves tasty food and is open at useful hours. All in all, a happy, restful stay at a hotel close to many useful venues from the waterfront, to churches, shopping malls, cafés and the Perth Mint!

This hotel is in a good location for visiting Perth. Easy access by walking or public transport. Breakfast a bit hit & miss e.g. items not replenished quickly enough or cold. No hairdryer in the room. Safe in wardrobe but we had to stand on a chair to reach it. Overall though we enjoyed our stay there

We were quite disappointed in the property on this stay. The room amenities were very minimal, phones did not work, no kettle in room, no towels in pool area. The reception staff were however very helpful in trying to rectify these issues & seemed to be covering many areas of the hotel. Housekeeping was poor, items under beds from previous occupants, 3 requests to get a kettle. Breakfast buffet was ok in quality but selection was lacking. The hotel needs a good tidy up of facade especially pool area. Overall disappointing.
