YOTEL San Francisco

Beautiful hotel with 24hr security. Key card needed for entry and even to use elevator which I thought was clever. My room was amazing and comfortable. I just wish it had a mini fridge for being a jr suite. Other than that, the bed was great, room was clean and I never heard any neighbors. I’d definitely stay here again.

This is a pretty cool hotel. So many amenities like shared workspaces, fitness room, super-fast wifi, water/ice stations on every floor, fresh, modern interiors.

YOTEL is well situated, despite sketchiness from proximity to Tenderloin outside - particularly at night. Check-in process was automated and efficient. Room was clean, but I would not book the Sky Room configuration again - it's not functional and too easy to hit your head on the ceiling up in sleeping area. Hardly any room to place any bags either. OK for a single night

The price seems low but it's actually more expensive due to the resort fees which seem to be for nothing. No parking, no bar, no restaurant, no little convenient shop, the free breakfast is just croissants, oranges and cereal. Gym is decent, they have bikes inside for rent and even though you don't have a fridge in your room they have a communal one.

This hotel is extremely clean and minimal. The staff as well was very helpful and felt prioritized when something didn’t go well. The only this is, if you’re coming back to the hotel at night time, keep in mind that hotel is located next to the tenderloin district and expect many homeless people

The hotel is very modern. And room are nice. Great location. But. Homeless encampment outside the hotel mad me feel not safe walking outside And no parking at facility. So then force to walk back but room rates are good.

Nice clean hotel with modern interiors. Gym is good however limited. Included breakfast was a simple classic selection of snacks, cereal, croissants, yogurt etc. All in all, pretty good. Would recommend.

The place itself is amazing very pretty, the staff is absolutely amazing always listening. The gym is small but enough, the room was very nice,only the side of the bed was very dirty on the floor. The streets are loud but it’s San Francisco and the hotel knows how to deal with it. Thank you

The view from the room towards city hall was breathtaking. It was an easy check-in. The breakfast was very basic but quick and exaxtly what we needed. Also the gym has everything that you need to get in a workout. I would definitely stay here again!

The quality of bed linen, towels, and cosmetics provided deserve a special mention. The staff is super helpful. What’s unique about YOTEL is the co-working space within the hotel - super convenient. The only downside is a sketchy neighbourhood.

The hotel is a great located, however, the sheets were ripped up and the building smelled of pee everywhere.

Went to the city for a matinee at the Orpheum theater. This place is righ up the street. Everything was perfect! Comfortable, and a common area to gather with friends. Highly recommended!

Superb break, staff were very helpful on arrival and throughout our stay answering any questions we asked, the room was spotlessly clean and house keeping was done everyday. A nice simple perk was a water machine located on our floor which was great. Wi-Fi was superb and a good selection of tv Channels available before bed. Area around the hotel was a little intimidating at night due to the issue in San Francisco with homelessness/ drugs but in there defence they did not bother / pester you. All in all I will be using this property again.

I feel a lot of important information was not given to me at the time of booking. There were a lot of surprise fees and I was flat out lied to. For example, the Wi-Fi did not even work but yet it’s advertised as having Wi-Fi. My room had what looked to be throw up on the floor that was obviously not even cleaned before it was rented to me! I had an unsettling feeling at the hotel, especially when I went into a shared bathroom on a different floor I was not staying on. I entered the bathroom & immediately felt a heaviness in my chest or uneasy feeling. I proceeded to open the stall door to use the restroom but the overwhelming feeling of something not good caused me to change my mind on using the restroom & I immediately walked out. At the time I did not know my friend was experiencing the same feelings in our room. When I got back to my room I told her what I felt and she said she felt the same thing, while I was gone. The feeling was so strong we decided to look up deaths at the yotel hotel. Lo and behold a man died in a stall of a shared bathroom exactly 1yr prior! It took them days to find his body! Only when a liquid substance was ozzing from beneath the stall door and several complaints of a terrifying odor is when the man’s body was found. Was the bathroom not cleaned everyday?? Look it up yourself. You will read what I could not believe I myself was reading! Trust Your Instincts if you feel something. My stay was a overall horrible experience and waste of my money

Room was great, double windows so completely quiet. Everything was clean. Small room but well laid out. Comfortable bed. As other said this I the tenderloin so outside at night, not great. But once you re inside, great spot and great location

Quiet, quaint unique you stay for the experience no restaurant inside but great local restaurants around they do give you food vouchers. Cleanliness was excellent

The room was super clean. Everything had a space and the SHOWER! Great shower head, line being under a waterfall. Quiet, so nice for such a wee room. Staff was amazing.

Everything was so clean and the staff were being helpful! They were so attentive to the front door so as soon as someone walking in, they were there. The room was so futuristic with the smallest features we wouldn't have noticed! Warming towel rack, various light fixtures, the rain shower, just great. Will return!

Lots of homeless people right outside the front doors. Also extremely inconvenient that the power in the room - including lights and outlets - are motion activated. So my phone did not charge overnight.

Room was nice and clean. We couldnt get this purple light to turn off nor did the A/c unit work so it was uncomfortable.

Overall, this hotel was a pleasant find and surprise and my stay was very nice. The hotel is secure, very clean, hip/trendy and modern. My favorite thing about the hotel is the co-working lounge they have on the 2nd level with private phone booth rooms across the hall. There's a convenient vending machine that came equipped with cell phone chargers and other things that I had forgotten on my trip. It came in handy that's for sure. The staff is extremely helpful, caring, and nice. The place is squeaky clean. The room I had was spacious and seemed brand new. My only gripe would be there are no coffee machines in the rooms and my room also didn't have my own desk and chair. Happy to have used the lounge though it was like a mini wework. It is conveniently located to a lot of cool restaurants and night life. I wasn't too worried about the homeless, but they are definitely chillin on the sidewalks close by and a little too rowdy at times could hear them from up on level 5. It's the city vibe for sure, so wasn't too distracted. Oh, walls are a bit thin also could hear full on conversations word for word from other rooms. Thankfully it didn't last long and had a great nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. Would most def stay here again.

My room was uncomfortably small. It was difficult and uncomfortable to move between the bed and the front wall. Also there was no chair to sit anywhere in the room. Very uncomfortable.

It was definitely a unique stay, the place was lovely and clean however the bathroom situation was a shock. there is no door?! this was the only issue with the place, as there was no privacy. I was with my friend so one of us had to go upstairs and wait while we used the shower or bathroom. even a curtain would provide more privacy. all and all the room was great, bed was comfy and liked everything but the bathroom. that was honestly crazy and there is no photos of it online. you literally walk through the door and the toilet is right there.

felt like an episode of black mirror, if you know you know. it was uncomfortable, unwelcoming, the service is non existent… just a person in a chair that points you around. the elevator by our room brought us to the back rooms of the lobby. i felt like i was in a horror movie and when i tried to make the elevator go back up it would not work so i had to follow tape arrows on the basement floor to enter into the lobby

what was unique about it was pretty modern interior given the exterior looks pretty old. have great views. staff was pretty chill, rooms were okay size for a solo traveler. overall my night stay there was amazing experience.

I loved the room and the stay. Check in was simple and easy. Had a late flight and they held my bags for me

It’s a busy street indeed. Although stuff is helpful and place is clean.

The check-in tablets are faulty and need a software update. The receptionists are not friendly enough to help customers. Oh, and they never gave me a complimentary drink for being a VIP member. There were only 2 bottles of water in the room, which cost $4 each.

They need to keep this place locked everywhere at all times because there’s a homeless encampment directly outside. I got screamed at by at least 8 people while just walking down the street. One man tried to grab me but I got away. I checked out early. The location is too unsafe. Hotel itself, the staff was terrible. Check in took forever. The room was clean but if I have to worry about getting jumped the moment I walk outside, I don’t really care much about how clean the room is. Seriously, don’t stay here. I can’t stress it enough.

Property itself is really nice. Wouldnt hang out around outside. Stayed about a week and was like pulling teeth to get my room service while away- at least 4 of the nights they didn’t provide clean towels or change bedding. Kinda disappointed

The San Francisco location looked like a derelict building. There was at least one large window that was boarded over. There were several unhoused people either loitering around the entrance or actively laying in the entrance. I never even got out of the car, just ‘nope’d out and drove into the alley around the block that seemed safer than the hotel entrance and called somewhere else. The listing showed parking available - no. Parking exists, but you need to find it yourself, there is no designated space or garage and I wouldn’t have left the rental on that street. They will not refund me, even though I never checked in. But honestly, I’d pay the 200 and change to not stay there since it was so off putting from the street. Maybe the rooms are nice, but I wouldn’t know. Best of luck if you book at SF downtown location - really it should say ‘Mission’ not downtown, but then no one would book it.

The rooms were tiny and tidy, as promised. And a fantastic deal, as long as you don't plan to spend time in your room. Convenient location, near BART and buses. As a regular visitor to SF, I was still unprepared for the Tenderloin zombie factor: I asked the security guard to walk me to the curb to get an Uber at night — and I'm from New York! (During the day, I was able to walk to coffee without a problem.) Also, when I called to ask for a mini fridge and iron in my room, they said they would deliver them. When I asked at the "front desk" 2h later, they said they don't have mini fridges: I was speaking to someone in a call center, not on property.

Modern, clean, beautiful hotel. Everything is new and sparkling. 3 minutes to Bart station which brings you to the Airport. Lots of restaurants, theatres, landmarks in the walking distance. We will be back to this hotel again and again. Customer service on the front desk was friendly and exceptional. Security guards are always near the entrance. Fantastic option for this low price!

The staff were excellent and the hotel is well maintained, the only negative is the homelessness in the area it didn't feel safe at night but was easy to get around using taxi apps

Hotel for introverts - kiosk check-in, kiosk store. Extremely modern, very new/clean/well styled. Very efficient, tight spaces but well laid out. The only downside is that it borders on a very bad area. The hotel is secure and is conveniently located for BART and theaters, etc.

Went to see a musical at Golden gate theater. Took bart into SF, got off at union/civic center station. Hotel was across the street from bart. Theater was a1 1/2 block wslk from hotel. Was perfect! Rooms are small and tight, but hey, its SF. Lol was very happy here and staff eas great!

Room was nice and modern. Shower was small but nice. Breakfast was minimal. Location was a little dicey at night.

Breakfast is terrible. The room is clean and in a good location, but the staff did not provide parking instructions.

Continental breakfast with no meats. There are so many vagrants hanging around, fear for your safety will come up.

Very modern, Unique furniture, new design, self check in. The breakfast is poor, one burrito only, the coffee machine was broken. The reception gave us $15 coupon for a nearby cafe.

I didn’t like that there wasn’t a restaurant or bar on site. I liked the self check in. The hotel room is very minimalistic but clean.

great location in SF downtown. The breakfast is very basic. Dont recommend Sky room is small, is only for sleep The hotel is good. The service is good, No is a 4 stars is recomend for sleep. Meter near and many bus around the zone. Front the hotel is a many homeless in the night but no problem in security area.

I loved the windows and light in my room. I had to work from the room all week and it made it very pleasant. BUT because I was there for a week I was disappointed that there was not a place to unpack into. There were a few hangers but no shelves or drawers. The rooms was large and had plenty of space for that. Or even the use of hooks. Also there were two days when the croissants were stale one day they were actually HARD. I look forward to coming back and hopefully the restaurant will be open.

I liked the self check in and the room was clean and nice. The breakfast included was very basic and inconsistent (some days they ran out of some stuff). The hotel is nice but the area around if full of homeless that inyect themselves (drugs I suppossed). Anyway, we did not have any incidents around the hotel.

Property was impeccable. Great layouts. Clean. Only thing i didnt like was the so-called breakfast. It was really lacking. Especially for what you pay.
