Elevators didn’t work, other than that the property is amazing

Coffee machine didn’t work and no one seemed to care. Lift out of service and had to use service lift.

Nice location close to pier it is cool that they let you borrow bicycles to cruise around.

Hotel was nice but don’t think upscale would describe it accurately. The restaurant food was good, service decent, but a lot of supplies, set up things out. Spa was never open. Apparently only open if you book appointment. Loved our oceanfront balcony and room comfortable. Breakfast addition when booking was a good choice.

The room was newly remodeled, spacious with large bathroom and ocean view with balcony. Love the free happy hour on the roof with amazing views. Loved the free bikes that we rode around Coronado Island. Being so close to Mexico the water is polluted but looked beautiful and smelled refreshing.

Property is beautiful just not well maintained. For the are it’s in it could be spectacular. Pool was out of order, car charger was out of order, called the front desk and valet several times n one answered. Outdoor Patio floor outside the restaurant was dirty. No advisement on the website advising of things out of order. The car charging station and pool were the two major factors when booking this property.

There was nowhere to charge my Tesla Had to go Pay at other parking Garage to charge. Very Rude Staff when it comes to asking questions AC was working in room was very stuffy and hot Was Charge a $50.00 A day parking fee which is way to high for ur guest I will never stay there again and I will not recommend to family and friends

Friendly staff, beach view, room was clean and the restaurant was good. The pool needs updating and cleaned daily but was ok. We had the same waitress twice at dinner and she was super friendly. The staff was helpful when we did need something. Great location and we were able to walk to just about everything. The bus and trolley were easy to use when we went to Tijuana. The few negatives were more a customer service issue. They spent one night fixing a door at the restaurant during a busy dinner service. It may have been better to just block off that door until the restaurant closed. On the same night you could see hotel employees smoking weed on a break from the restaurant seating area on the outside patio. I get that it’s California and a beach town but not the best customer service. There was also one employee clearly intoxicated around lunch time getting on and off the elevator. The beach also closed the day after we got there because of toxins from Mexico. That’s more from poor leadership and Gov. Newsom and not the hotels fault but maybe something that should be listed as a potential issue before someone books a room for 6 days. The two homeless people sleeping right next to the restaurant also not the hotels fault. Our room wasn’t serviced the last two days so trash stacked up in the room but we didn’t base the rating on that. Overall, we still gave it a 4 but this hotel could easily be rated higher with some better staff training and guidelines.

This was a great place for me and my family. The only thing I didn’t like was the limited parking. Unless you are willing to pay $30/day for valet.

Main elevator was not working the entire time so had to use service elevator. Kind of hard to get to. Had an upstairs neighbor that was very noisy need more soundproofing on upper floors

This property is not worth what you pay for. It’s dirty & rusty. When I checked in, I found 2 drops of blood stain on the carpet and when I told the front desk about not being comfortable in staying in the room, they said they were sold out and will send housekeeping to clean it but nobody came to clean it, I had to stay in that dirty room during my whole trip. The ceiling fan had dust and webs on it, the mirror was rusty and the night stand lights were rusty as well. The sliding door didn’t work properly as well. As a gold member who has stayed at many Marriott hotels, this property was very disappointing. Will not be staying here in the future ever again!

Positives ..Gabby and Rinell were awesome . I loved the location and the area around. The staff at the resort were awesome . Daily happy hour. Negatives If this property is still owned by Marriott or franchisee there are some basic building maintenance that should be addressed I get because it’s a beach town the salt water eats up everything but the dust between the elevator glass is horrible also the balcony glass needs to be cleaned daily I saw a maintenance person clean the lower level glass but not the upper levels and Marriott has enough money to get it done . This is an autograph logo property and should be the pride of the area.

Hotel lobby beautiful, smells amazing, but past that dirty old! Room was as decribed on site, my room was not clean exactly, not sure that sweep, under the couch was disgusting, pretty sure they have not pulled it out for along time, patio door extremely hard to open and lock! Water for shower barely warm no matter time of day! Coffee pot didn’t work, tv didn’t work! Area around us was a little sketch, lots of young kids causing trouble and just hanging around the entire hotel! Couple times trying to start crap just for walking out to the beach! They were taking the building told the staff and they ignored it! Would not stay here again!

Great view, great staff, very comfortable room. My only critique is that the shower faucet dripping continuously. We had to have maintenance come on our first night to turn the shower in for us as the shower knob was turned to tight for us to open in our own. We tried to turn the shower knob off as tightly as we could but it still dripped. Huge waste of water!

Basic lack of maintenance hampers the experience. A sliding door leading to the bedroom gets stuck when half closed. The door leading to the balcony is clearly misaligned. It grinds on the floor when opened. Damage to the floor indicates this is a long-term problem. One of three bathroom towels was stained. Wifi was very weak, a big surprise for a room that cost several hundred dollars. Overall very disappointed.

Overall everything is good the only thing make me disappointed was the room has no view as we book is partial ocean view

Lovely view, but items in the room were a little bit rusty. I’m pretty sure it’s from the salt humidity in the air. The ceiling fan was making noise, great staffing very helpful.

Pros: - The location of the property was nice. The hotel is located right on the beach. - The staff was very friendly. Cons: - The entry doors to the rooms and the doors separating the bathroom from the bedrooms are mostly made of glass. As the hallway outside of the rooms is brightly lit at night the rooms are also well lit at night which makes it really hard to sleep. - The neighborhood around the hotel seems a bit sketchy. There was a homeless person living right at the access from the hotel to the beach - The hotel restaurant is not very good and was out of many things (e.g. ice maker for making cocktails)

My stay here was beyond perfect. Tracy at the front desk was amazing and very accommodating to us. The room was beautiful, clean and the views were amazing. We definitely found a gem and will most definitely be returning for our next Get away trip.

Second time staying here. First time was one night, room was not ready at check in. It was only one night, figured it was a fluke as our room wasn't ready until 2 hours after check in. This time, 3 nights, room was not ready so we left and came back an hour and a half later. Room still was "ready" and took us 20 minutes to check in. Finally got to a dirty room smelling of bleach, exhaust fan not working in the bathroom. Then after asking for the rooms to be cleaned during our stay, they never did it. Every other staff member was extremely nice and helpful. Their cleaning staff seems to be in their own world. Guests asking them when checkout is and they have no idea. Simply, believe the other bad reviews, they are not exaggerating. This place exists on location alone. Balcony is nice but very uncomfortable chairs and no screen to just leave the door or a window open. Amenities are also very limited(no massages on Mondays, restaurant doing to go only still).

Beach front with beautiful views. The front office manager, Hamayoon was very helpful. We will definitely return.

The gentleman at the front desk greeted my wife and me with such a warm and welcoming attitude—we could tell he truly enjoys his job. Our stay at Pier South Resort, Autograph Collection by Marriott, was wonderful. The views are absolutely amazing, and having restaurants conveniently located right downstairs was a huge plus. Highly recommend!

The staff was excellent and made my stay very comfortable and pleasant. Specially Gabby, Bryce and Carlos, were super friendly and helpful.

Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend My recent stay at Pier South Resort, Autograph Collection by Marriott was incredibly disappointing. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was for the direct beach access, but unfortunately, we were unable to go on the beach due to some restrictions that weren’t disclosed during booking. This completely invalidated the "beachfront" experience we were looking forward to. To make matters worse, the valet service wrecked my boyfriend’s car, severely damaging one of the doors. This not only ruined our vacation but also caused significant stress and inconvenience. Despite this major incident, the hotel staff did not handle the situation with the level of professionalism and urgency that it warranted. Overall, the experience was terrible. Between the lack of access to the beach and the valet disaster, our vacation was completely ruined. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

The service was bad. Room was not cleaned after we returned from being out all day. We had to call them twice just to get them to clean the room.

The property was clean and the staff were very friendly. Great location. The service in the restaurants was chaotic and a little slow. I don’t think it was the staff’s problem but, the way it was managed. It seemed like no organization to the tables so wait staff didn’t know who to serve. Plates came out late and getting drink refilled was slow.

Great beachfront location with a quaint neighborhood.

Location is great. close to the pier. Nice little shops in the surrounding area. Staff was great. Will be rebooking when I visit the area again.

The staff were wonderful, sadly Imperial Beach is not usable, and the restaurant needs renovations. Imperial Beach is struggling, and it shows. We had visited prior to Covid which is why we went back, we won't be back until the contaminated beach issue is resolved.

Sewage is dumped into the ocean from Tijuana. Signs are up on the beach not to swim. The water is disgusting from smell to overall look. So advertising of a beach front resort does not meet the expectations. When speaking with locals, this has been like this for over 40 years. So images of the resort have clearly been photoshopped. Constant military helicopters circling the beach and areas around. So safety, yes a concern. Room was not clean and carpets were disgusting. Service and staff were amazing. All front desk staff should be commended for their level of service. The venue needs help. But staff is. Ot one of them.

I stayed at Pier South hotel recently and was extremely disappointed. Please be warned before booking! The biggest issue was that we booked an oceanfront room, but upon arrival, we were warned not to swim in the ocean due to RAW SEWAGE in the water. This should be disclosed before check-in, especially at an oceanfront hotel. It was gross and disappointing to learn. The second worst was the idiotic design of our room. It had a large glass panel on the door, letting bright light flood in all night, which made it hard to sleep. There were no amenities in the bathroom—not even soap or shower caps. We've stayed at hotels all along the West Coast, and this one provided the least. The shower was poorly designed and one day we had no hot water. The hotel itself felt old and worn, though clean. The Wi-Fi was unusable, it just would not work or worked so sporadically, it was useless. To make matters worse, the elevators were out of service, so we had to use a smelly, run-down service elevator that was inconveniently located the whole time we were there. The only reason I’m giving this hotel two stars is because the staff was friendly and helpful. I hope they find jobs at a much better establishment. The pool and hot tub were also nice.

Great spot to stay and wonderful service!! If you have transportation or are okay with ride sharing into other neighborhoods then you’re golden, as far as getting to great restaurants and activities, the area around the hotel is pretty lowkey, when it comes to “things to do”. Location is beautiful and when they say “ocean front, they mean it. If you’re just looking to go to the beach though. This is the spot!

Nice Hotel and Toasted Restaurant the best food in Imperial Beach!!!

Every thing good it just the cooks burned are chicken and I managed for food over thirty years, rules of thumb if you wouldn’t eat it don’t serve it!! And a waitress took her time setting us !! When she had nothing to do but talk!! The rest of are stay is good

The staff was Amazing! The restaurant was amazing got to sit outside and have an ocean view all the times we went down to eat. The hot tub was great nice and hot! The room was awesome with a beautiful view. The only thing was the ice maker was out of service on my floor had to go down 1 floor to get some ice and they only had 1 elevator so be patient or take the stairs.

Absolutely loved this property! It was a surprise for my husband for a concert in the area! The staff was great! The room was beautiful and spacious! Right on the beach and walking distance to a lot of food choices. We both want to come back! Such a great experience.

Great view from our 3rd floor “Ocean View” living room. Nice balcony with comfortable chairs on it. Living room comfortable and stylish design. Bedroom was separate and didn’t have view - it let in a little too much light since the window had shutters with gaps between the slats and the breezeway outside was lit. Fantastic Happy Hour sunset on the roof each night. Great customer set ice too - overall we had a fun getaway weekend!

The staff was so friendly especially Tracy at the front desk. She also hosted the free roof top reception.. free drunks and the most amazing views. Dined at sea180 inside the resor and highly recommend, views galore and staff again so welcoming. Lexi was awesome!
