One of the two elevators was broken. Long wait times! Rotten Egg smell and broken a/c in common areas, run down looking with peeling paint in hallways. Check in guy was nice, the house keeping lady at 9am on the day we checked out banging on the door was not so nice! I have stayed in Hyatts before but this by far wasn't cheap and wasn't a good stay or hotel at all!!!

Breakfast was good. Staff was pleasant. I didn't like that this hotel sat in the parking lot of a busy mall. I couldn't enjoy the fire on the patio in the evenings, not only did they shut the patio at 8pm every night but the fire was never even lit. People like to enjoy a fire at night so it makes no sense that they close the patio before dark!

The entrance to the hotel was very welcoming, and the breakfast was outstanding. I found our room (suite) to be less than average. The floors were old and coming apart in the kitchen area, the mattress was so old and It had a topper on it, and the couch was hard to get out of because you'd sink into it. There were two elevators there and one elevator was out for several days, which made our weight much longer each time we needed to get on the elevator. I was quite disappointed since we had planned on staying there for seven days, reduced it to six, but would've reduced it further if our plans could accommodate that.

The property was nice—very clean. Staff was very courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was okay. Food was what you expect for breakfast included. Sometimes ran out of glasses, utensils, or juice. Parking could be challenging. No designated hotel parking—had to hunt down spots in mall parking. Not a problem after 7 pm.

The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was fine. Staff was hit-or-miss. Would have been nice to have running water the entire time. In lieu of that, the hotel could have offered free bottled water. Instead, they had $6 bottles. The noise from renovations was not ideal. The last two days there was only one elevator. If we’d known about the ongoing renovation, we’d have chosen a different location. We also would have preferred to be given a schedule of water shutoff times/days at check-in. Once renovations are complete, most of these issues should be resolved, so next year might be a better time to stay.

Zero service at hotel. No one came to our room for the 4 days we were there. Had to ask for bathroom towels several times before we got them. Old property that’s not in good shape. One elevator working for a 6 story building so every trip up or down was an unpleasant experience. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Location is the reason to stay. Hotel elevators are extremely slow. Furniture in room is not the most comfortable and room shows age. The hallway carpets need to be changed on the 6 floor

No pool, told it had been closed. As in filled in. Nice get away, bathroom doors do not have knobs or locks, no privacy. Barn door, sliding door that Does Not close all the way. Kitchen stocked with utensils etc. Breakfast was sufficient, but you're surrounded by restaurants in the mall and all over Short Pump.

The check-in was quick however our keys did not work at first. Staff member was quick to make new keys and brought them up to the room. The room was not very clean. It was dusty and the bathroom had mold on the caulk around tub. Also, there was a hair in the sink. Yuck! Otherwise it was a quick area just to sleep for the night. Glad we only had the one night.

Disappointing Stay – Needs Improvement I was not impressed with my stay at this hotel. As soon as I stepped into the hallways, there was an unpleasant smell, which continued in my room—especially the carpet. The hot water in the shower took at least 10 minutes to heat up, which was frustrating. The walls were not as clean as they should be, and the TV was covered in dust. On top of that, the bed was uncomfortable, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, this hotel needs some serious cleaning and maintenance. I wouldn’t stay here again unless improvements are made.

The website says no pets unless they are service animals. I saw several that were obviously not service animals because of the behavior. I'm allergic to dogs and cats so I want to stay at a hotel that at least doesn't allow pets on a floor. The carpet was nasty in our room and there was mold and mildew in the bathroom and grout coming out of the tile.

We called ahead to ask if they had cribs for our two daughters. They said they did, and had them in the room ready for us. Problem was, they weren’t cribs. They were travel pack n plays, which if you have kids you know are two VERY different things. We truly would have booked somewhere else that had cribs available if we knew. In addition, there were some ants in the room and some small stains on the sheets. Cleanliness wasn’t terrible but it didn’t feel as clean as it should. The staff was really nice and attentive, and the breakfast was solid. It’s really convenient to the short pump mall. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it, though. We expected a bit more from a Hyatt.

Great hotel location. The room was nice with a full size fridge and a small cooking area too. The one complaint is that all night long I heard doors slamming because the room doors slam shut and are pretty loud. Normally we stay across the highway at the aloft. It’s also another great option in the area.

The front desk staff was rude. At check in, which was supposed to be at 3, she told me it wasn’t ready and they would text me when it would be ready at 4. Well that text message never happened. So my husband went in to check in after 4 and that’s when they tried to explain the laundry service was slow that day and they were behind. That would have been way more appreciated when I came at 3 and she told me I was there too early. I even showed my reservation slip that said 3pm for check in! Then the hotel smelled like natural gas and deodorizer mixed. Very strong. They were unable to explain that. Our suite, had a broken bathroom door, a noisy fridge…my amazing husband just reminded me, it could already be worse. Richmond was a blast. But we will not stay at the Hyatt House again.

The property is lovely with a nice breakfast. The challenge was that our room was not ready on arrival. Check in is 1600, we arrived at 1630. For this type of property this is now what we would expect.

I had forgotten to bring my makeup remover and was quite surprised that they had a little complimentary makeup remover wipe among the little soap and lotion that they provide. I was pleasantly surprised, and it helped me until I buy some the next day.

When we arrived early we were asked if we reserved with a third party (Expedia), then were told we would receive a text when the room was ready. Shortly after, I received notice my credit card had been charged, but still no text. We waited two more hours, finally returning at 4:00, and were allowed to check in. The new clerk apologized for never texting, but we question if using a third party contributed. Upon check out, the clerk would not provide a receipt stating that I would have to get it from Expedia.

Hotel is excellent the issue was finding the hotel directions are lacking and the young man I could could k ly tell to to ask the GPR he could not identify anything around the hotel. Good part I found the other Hyatt and the gentleman at that hotel gave me perfect directions.

It was close to EVERYTHING!!!! Food, shopping, gas and major highways. Staff was excellent, Breakfast was good….only one thing was wrong it has no pool. But other than that it’s a very good hotel. And the bed was great to sleep in!!! I was out like a baby lol

The hotel is located in a huge mall so convenient to everything and within walking distance. Only drawback is the fact there is no dedicated hotel parking or valet so you are subject to finding a spot in mall parking. Not easy on a Saturday afternoon!!

This was a nice hotel, clean, quiet, aesthetically pleasing. The only complaint I had was that our king size bed had 4 small square pillows on it. We had to ask for more. Also, I have didn’t like that new towels and wash clothes weren’t automatically provided to us the next day. Oh and the breakfast wasn’t too good either. Other than that, we were satisfied with our stay.

Our room/floor was very quiet, clean and well appointed. Desk staff are very attentive and friendly. The breakfast is the best of any hotel we’ve stayed at and the set up is superb. We live in the blue ridge mountains and come to Richmond a couple times a year. This is our favorite spot and really feel comfortable at this hotel.

This was our second stay at Hyatt House Short Pump Town Center. The room is well laid out and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Some minor negatives. The lobby, both times, had an odd odor to it, not welcoming. The lighting over the vanity/sink was not bright enough. The chicken sausage was not good, tasteless and tough around the edges. Otherwise, being connected to the mall was a huge advantage over the local competition!

Great hotel. Very clean. Bartender was not good. Left both times we were there for extended periods. Coffee at breakfast ran out and was not replaced for last 30 minutes we were at breakfast. But hotel room and hotel itself were fine.
