A character property in a quiet location outside of Lisbon centre opposite the beautiful Palácio Nacional de Queluz. Sightseeing in Lisbon or Sintra is possible by train but the station is a 14 minute uphill walk away from the hotel (or 4.05 euros by taxi). A car would be preferable and there is plenty of parking. We had a good room with very comfortable beds, and a great breakfast with excellent service. There is a very limited choice of restaurants nearby, especially on a Sunday. We ended up at MacDonalds.

Lots of parking. Very friendly stuff. Very good service. We got bottle of wine and nice plate with cake and strawberries. Very nice breakfast with extra for birthday girl :). Very nice place to stay. Would go back again!

The property was quite exceptional knowing some of the history, easy to imagine royalty living there so many years ago. We found some understaffing but nothing disturbing. The receptionist made us drinks at the bar because there was not a bartender at the time. I imagine that it is only hotel guests who would use the bar so this is understandable. The breakfast room beyond the bar is more than adequate and pleasant and the breakfast itself fulfilled anyone's morning requests. There is no dining room but there are several local restaurants, one in particular, the Retiro de Mina, that serves "excellent" food with wonderful staff. Lynda and Carol from Canada

The room was very spacious,clean,and lovely. The breakfast was the best out of the four hotels I stayed at in Portugal. The breakfast had a wide variety of food, and many Portuguese desserts. The hotel front desk staff and breakfast staff were very friendly. There are many cobblestone streets around the hotel, so it's a little difficult to move around with a suitcase, but if you take a bus from Monte Abraão train station, you can get off near the hotel. If you have large luggage and it is a busy time, please call a taxi instead of getting on the bus. If you don't have much luggage, you can walk from either Monte Abraão or Queluz-Belas train stations, but I felt more comfortable walking from Monte Abraão station.

The posada is a historic building. The hotel has its age yet is kept well. Beds were good, so was the breakfast. Most recognition goes to the staff who were very nice and helpful in terms e.g. where to eat. Good location also for trips to Cascais, Sintra or Lisbon.

Ein sehr schönes historisches Hotel. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß, genau wie das Bad. Wenn man ein Zimmer zur Straße hat, ist es durch den Verkehr auch nachts laut. Es hat uns trotzdem sehr gut gefallen. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig, für jeden was dabei. Das Personal ist nett, freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.

A unique historic hotel, loaded with the charm. Very friendly and helpful staff and wonderful breakfast buffet. Only downside was the air conditioning did not work well. Fortunately for us, we had beautiful weather with cool nights so sleeping with open windows was not a problem.

This is a truly glorious hotel. Its astoundingly quiet. The most spacious room I've ever had in Europe. The staff speaks English and is forgiving of my bad Portuguese.

Sitio tranquilo cerca de Sintra y Lisboa. Apeadero cerca para ir en tren a ambas ciudades. Cerca de la Pousada hay varios restaurantes de calidad, saliendo de la posada en dirección al apeadero de tren. La zona cerca de la estación de tren es bastante deprimida, da un poco de inseguridad, si bien no hubo problema alguno.

We like to stay in hotels settled in historic buildings like the ones of the Spanish Paradores. The Pousada reminded us of it. The spacious rooms in a quiet ambiance with antic furniture a fire place, piano and oil paintings on the walls were appealing to us. The room also had several English language TV channels to catch up on latest news. The breakfast on the house was excellent and the best we had on our entire 4 week trip in Spain and Portugal. However, on a Sunday night there were limited dining options in walking distance from the hotel.

Just charming - no restaurant on site but don’t fret there are lovely restaurants in the vicinity. Breakfast is onsite and they provide a great spread. The area Surrounding the hotel makes this a five star
