Parking is a slight hassle but well handled. Spacious rooms. Nice vibe. Restaurant downstairs surprisingly good/reasonable. Good selection of wines by glass, although was surprised/disappointed only one Virginian option.

Likes: Excellent downtown location. Spacious room. comfortable bed. Good lighting. This is booed as a luxury hotel and it comes with luxury room prices. However, it has a very very small check in area, no lobby or comfortable gathering area (except the bar) to speak of. Parking is certainly not a luxury. There is an additional charge to self park your car in a parking lot with a broken elevator about a half a block away. There was no valet service or any offer of help with luggage for us 80 year olds. Normal hallway noise is evident inside your room. We were informed of the availability of an ice machine three floors away. This is nicely located downtown hotel, with less than complete personal services and amenitiesl at luxury prices.

The restored/converted bank building was very well done. Our room and bed were very comfortable. But the coffee maker was difficult to use. I ordered the steak offering and it was, at best warm, even after sending it back. Only to find out later that they don't have a conventional kitchen and their 'heating' equipment was out of order. But they certainly charged us the food to meet, Unfortunately, loading and unloading luggage is a real challenge because there is no bellman, and the bell cart barely fits through the front door and you cannot get it to street level to load the carpeting, due to the step down curb. In my opinion, they need valet parking because their psrking is a block and a half away on the fourth floors, and when we were there the elevator wasn't working.

Nice renovated building; unique and affordable. Parking stinks. Because of the inconvenience of parking a block away, it should be included in the price. Very friendly and engaging staff. Hot water for tea option in the lobby would be nice.

Loved the style of this hotel, really beautiful old bank. Great location, within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The only negative is that parking is a block away in a parking garage and no valet. I wouldn’t be comfortable with this if I were traveling solo as a female.

Hotel is very nice but will not stay here again because of the parking. No security, and not a nice area at night. (Plus we had to pay for the garage, which I wouldn’t mind if there were some security, but it was a dump with no working elevator).

What a wonderful concept to convert a beautifully, historic bank building into a hotel! Even the old bank vault has been made into a lovely dining area. The architecture and materials merge the old with the new. Customer service exceptional. We only wish the hotel had a fitness room.

Overall, the hotel has a beautiful aesthetic. However, the actual rooms, not so much. Our bedsheets looked to be stained from a menstrual cycle and were unsuccessfully washed. When I called the front desk they were not particularly phased by it. And while they changed the sheets, my comfort level there was significantly diminished. Cute hotel, better management needed!

Check in is supposed to be 3:00. Our room wasn’t ready until 3:30. After waking up the next morning, moved the pillows on the bed and saw that the sheet below had blood stains.

Beautiful, very clean, updated decor. Spacious rooms. Nice bathroom experience. It feels like a luxury boutique hotel should feel. Weird mechanism where you have to put a key card into a reader inside the room in order for the electricity to work in the room ?? Strange, but whatever. Miserable sleep; 20-30min stretches of screeching train wheels changing tracks outside, every couple hours and there’s so much sound porosity in the guest rooms. Hotel provides earplugs but we can’t sleep with earplugs in for various reasons. Beautiful experience, beautiful hotel, ruined sleep.

It’s a really cool building and overall a very nice hotel. But the TV didn’t work (and when I called down to the desk they seemed to have heard that before) and the coffee maker didn’t work.

The room is very clean and neat. Staff is over the top. A little tight (we had a queen city view-not sure if that was needed) could see another room window right outside ours (perpendicular to) so kept shade drawn often. Biggest complaint may be the coffee maker was really only an expresso maker so had to go to lobby for coffee.

It’s a lovely property and the staff are friendly. Be aware that the upgrade to a room with view is completely necessary unless you want a frosted window overlooking the fire escape - not all rooms are equal and you will get the bottom end booking through Expedia

The history is nice. The room was a great spot to see the city. But the restroom had no venting fan which led to much steam from the shower in there. The room itself was large but lots of empty space that seemed wasted. No area really to serve as a desk.

The staff was great and the rooms were very clean. There was a coolness factor to the hotel being an old bank, and the bar area was very nice. The lack of, and uncomfortableness of the room seating was a surprise. Our first room had no seating and the coffee make did not work. We switched to a deluxe king that had one small chair and a very uncomfortable bench. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but will try a different hotel on next trip to Roanoke.

Beautifully restored bank with great restaurant and bar spaces. King rooms are generous and bright. Queen rooms are a bit cozy. Not the quietest hotel as far as street noise and trains but definitely a cool vibe and close to everything!

We wish we could give the staff more than 5 stars, truly some of the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced. On more than one occasion, they went above and beyond their normal duties to make sure we were taken care of. When my wife became ill the night before our departure and all the luggage carts were in use, a staff member (Christine) personally helped us move our bags without hesitation. It was an act of kindness we won’t forget. The bar and restaurant staff were equally incredible; they were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Steph and Brittney treated us like friends, not just customers, and made every meal feel like a relaxing, personal experience. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but it’s the people who made our stay exceptional. We’re incredibly grateful and would absolutely stay here again.

My stay at this hotel was great! Amanda at the front desk was amazing !!! She made the horrible day and night I was having due to a horrible experience at another hotel in Roanoke VA I had before arriving at the Liberty Trust better from that point forward. Her kindness, willing to help me with my luggage (I’d just had a back surgery causing me to not be able to handle my own belongings well or not at all), her respectful demeanor, and simply ability to make me feel welcomed and comfortable meant the world to me in the moment in which it did that she was not aware of at the time. She’s wonderful! The Liberty Trust was clean quiet appealing beautiful and I will definitely stay there again.

A bit disappointed that despite requesting early check in and arriving 2+ hours past their checkout time, the room was not ready. Promised that it will be ready I. 15-20 min, which turned out to be little more than an hour. Other than that our one night stop here was fine. The room furnishings a little sparse, not even a small table to have a cup of coffee for more than one person, tea kettle and coffee machine (nice touch to offer Nespresso machine!) were hidden in the cupboard, room safe is at the floor level which makes its bit awkward to use.

The hotel is a grand restored property in downtown Roanoke with touches that no New hotel could ever afford to do. It has copper everywhere. Our room and the lobby were fabulous. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The only problem, and it cannot be ignored, is exterior noise. It’s next to a train track and a busy downtown street where people drive with their engine revving loud. It is across the street from a homeless shelter. There was an incident while we were there where they called six police cars out and it definitely did not give us a feeling of safety. If it were not for the noise and the homeless shelter, we would give them 5-Star all of the way.

The property itself is great even if the parking garage is a little inconveniently placed. It’s not a far walk, but can be tedious with traffic. Rooms and property maintain the historic elements of the previous bank usage now with modern amenities. Fantastic stay in a unique and beautiful property! The staff was wonderful. We had dinner our first night in the restaurant and had to go back again the next night because we couldn't stop talking about the bacon dates and the mushroom tart. FANTASTIC bartender and waitstaff. Simple, quiet room with an unexpected view of the Roanoke Star. GREAT time--we'll be back!

We called ahead about parking and Jennifer was very helpful with explaining the new plate reader in the parking garage. We arrived early, and though our room wasn’t ready yet, Jennifer held our bags while we stepped out for a drink. We later had an amazing cocktail and tapas at the bar. Our bartender was wonderful.

This is one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve stayed in a lot, as a former flight attendant. I’m obsessed with the copper/bronze doors. Very tastefully appointed, and I love all the period details like the old mail boxes on the walls. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. Food was delicious. Highly recommend!

In Roanoke for the first time combining a bit of business and pleasure. The Liberty Trust is an appealing old bank building, with a new life as a hotel. Rooms are large. Maybe a little lacking in warmth and character. Bedding was good. Bath had good water pressure and Moulton Brown products. In-hotel restaurant “the Vault” is in the original grand lobby. Bar is the old teller line. Menu was limited. Seemed to be better for drinks. Only high top and coffee table lounge seats; no “normal” dining tables. So dinner is better in other nearby options. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Cost seemed high for what the hotel can offer. I’d probably recommend the Hotel Roanoke for those seeking historic lodging, and the Hampton Inn for those wanting value. It was a good stay, but just not great at these prices.

This was a beautiful, elegant place and a welcome change to the chain hotels. The staff were real hospitality professionals. The menu (while small) was amazing in quality and flavor. And the location was great with a wonderful little downtown area full of shopping and dining all around.

Unique hotel in a former bank. Very cool. It was weird to receive toasted white bread with our cheese board. I would not recommend eating there. Great location.
