Cabin On The Lake

Room booked was not what was offered. Owner tried to charge extra, was unhappy with me asking to see the room. When he finally showed the correct room it was filthy. A truly awful experience

It was ok. Not as fancy as we expected! Would Of been better if we could of stayed longer

Owner very knowledgeable about the area with great suggestions of dining and recreation.

When we arrived we noticed immediately that the grounds were in poor shape. The screens on the outer portion of the structure all appeared as if they had been poorly repaired and were in need of some attention. We had requested an early check in as we had a 4:00 pm wedding to attend in New Smyrna. When we made our reservation we were advised that we could have a 2:00 pm check in. When we arrived at 1:50 pm (Normal check-in is at 3:00 pm) I was advised that there was an additional $30 charge for the early check-in and our room was not ready. In addition, we were reminded in a manner that lacked a welcoming and friendly attitude that our early check-in was at 2:00. We were invited to sit in the lobby and partake of tea and coffee but would have to wait until 2:00 pm to check-in. In all my years of traveling, I have never paid an early check-in fee until my check-in at the Cabin on the Lake. The accommodations were adequate and tidy. Prior to arriving on property we were considering returning for a quiet weekend in September, but have definitely changed our mind.

Clean room, charming staff, great location, close to about everything we were interested in. Hugo takes care of everything so you don’t have to! What a diamond in the rough! Totally worth it if you looking to chill for a few days!
