Sehr schönes Hotel mit tollem Pool, an dem man nach einem hektischen Tag in Bangkok gut entspannen kann. Unser Zimmer im 21 Stock war auch sehr schön und komfortabel. Die Aussicht auf den angrenzenden Park und die Skyline war ebenfalls atemberaubend. Einziges Manko war die Abrissbaustelle nebenan, die für Lärm zwischen 9-17/18 Uhr gesorgt hat, was nicht so schön war. Hierzu kann das Hotel jedoch nichts (Geht bis Februar 2025).

I have stayed at SO many times and it is a decent hotel. Starting to get a bit old but still have everything that you need. Be mindful that the pool area is never in the sun!

The property is pleasant enough. There are 2 main restaurants that I noticed, the main one sharing the same menu as room service and pool dining. Dinner buffet selection is very good- you do get the quantity and selection. KOF cafe downstairs has great coffee, and there’s an interesting chocolate-centric pattiserie that serves fun desserts. The pool area was not attractive. The water was murky so I felt a little wary of the hygiene. The sides of the pool showed wear and tear with broken bits. The huge pluses were the room size and lovely spa. Overall, it was good for a short stay.

Stayed here 6 years ago when it was Sofitel and have noticed the quality has gone down. Hotel is in need of an update swimming pool glass etc and general areas rundown it’s ok for a base but nothing special won’t be staying again.

There was a mixup between expedia and the hotel for my booking so they almost put me in a less amazing room. The staff that assisted me shuffled some things around and after a workout at their awesome gym I was able to settle in! The pool area has an amazing view of lumpini park and the room itself was incredible! I will definitely be coming back to stay at SO/ Bangkok

It was a very nice stay. Service was excellent and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was perfect and the coffee really good. The pool area is rather small and during high season it will be even more crowded then now ( before Christmas) next door to the pool was an instruction going on very noisy which was unfortunate but the staff made up for it they are super nice The gym is also nice with good equipments. I highly recommend this place Just cross the street it is an amazing park Also the rooftop was perfect!!

Good stay at So Bangkok, rooms are looking tired since our last visit few years ago and shows in bathroom where there were some grime/mould in sink and corners of showers. Shelving was also loose so can do with a touch up.

A good hotel close to public transport. Taxi from airport took 30 minutes despite the traffic. Staff amazing as expected in Thailand. Restaurant reasonably priced. There's a great thai restaurant around corner called North East that is very cheap. Room was clean and bed comfortable but there was some disappointment there. It might have been my room only I but it felt like attention to detail was lacking. The power socket was loose on the wall. The toilet door did not close properly the paint work inside seemed a bit shoddy. These things do add up.

Avoid room 2601. It’s too dark and dimly lit with a number of light blindspot (including the bar area!). New hotel but visible sign of wear and tear in the room. The wall plug cover on both sides came off. Other than the room, the staff are excellence. Thai service at its best.

We stayed 3 nights in one of the “wood”-themed rooms and loved it. Great location right by the Lumphini Park metro, which really helped for visiting tourist sites during the day and going out to dinner in the evening. Neighborhood around the hotel was also nice for walking through the park and to coffee shops and restaurants. Room was super clean and comfortable, with great robes and free mini bar with waters and sodas replenished daily. We loved going in the rooftop infinity pool in the afternoons.

This is a nice hotel in a decent location, though the surrounding area is not ideal for walking around. The hotel has a number of nice features, including the restaurants, pool and rooftop bar. Unfortunately, we did not have hot water during our stay. When we called about this, the hotel sent a housekeeping person to the room to help, but all he could do was confirm that we had no hot water. He said he would call engineering, but I never heard back or received any solution to the problem. When I told the front desk person about the problem the next morning, she was sympathetic but had no response or explanation for the problem. We received no credit on our bill and no other offer to satisfy our concerns.

We were on our honeymoon and were given an air themed room. Contrary to the rooms theme of clouds and air, our bed was rock hard. The buttons for the room for the lights and curtains made absolutely no sense… some were hidden behind the cabinets. Also, we had no hair conditioner for 3 days. I had to call for 2 nights in a row to get it refilled and finally on rhe third night, a guy had to come in while I was in a bathrobe to refill the hair conditioner. Is this 5 stars service? Absolutely not.

The tall and thin guy at the reception who checked me in was sweet and polite. The hotel should refurbish as the upkeep is worn out considering the price per night. The shower pressure and hot water is inconsistent. Sofas shouldn’t be stained. Materials used in the interior should be upgraded to maintain the hotel brand reputation.

I couldn't sleep for 2 nights because of the street noise. The hotel is in the corner of 2 major roads and the double glazing is very poor. Tried 3 different rooms but same result. All signature rooms are facing the park but between the park and the hotel there's a highway. After 2 nights I gave up and asked for a refund. The hotel won't refund the remaining nights blaming hotels.com which in return is blaming the hotel for not accepting to refund.

We visited the SO/ Bangkok once before in 2018 and absolutely loved it back then. Unfortunately, our recent stay was a big disappointment, mainly due to the staff. The employees appeared distant, unwelcoming and at times almost arrogant. There was none of the warmth and hospitality Thailand is usually known for. We were traveling with a small child and experienced wonderful child-friendliness everywhere else in Thailand – except at this hotel. We really did not feel welcome. The check-in process was very unorganized and chaotic. Additionally, the condition and cleanliness of the room did not meet the standards one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Last but not least, the pool was extremely cold, which made it unusable, especially with a child. Sadly, this stay did not live up to our previous experience, and we left very disappointed.

We were a little disappointed with our overall experience at the SO/. To begin our trip the check-in experience took quite a while and at the end of it they told us our room was not available. Check in was at 3pm and we arrived at 3:30pm and we sat and waited close to 4pm to hear this news. We were a little frustrated as this was our last leg of our honeymoon and we only had two nights in Bangkok and we had just gotten off our flight and wanted to freshen up and rest before going out for the evening. Only after complaining to the staff did they try to remedy the situation by offering a 1000B hotel credit. The room felt below a 5 star room. I would think at a 5 star hotel all the details would have been thought out, but only one of the night stands had an outlet and the other outlet was at the other side of the room by the window. The sink is too short and it splashes water all over the basin and the floor. The amenities at the hotel are definitely 5 star. The pool has a great view, albeit there is construction right next to it as there is a building being built so not very relaxing. The hotel breakfast was our highlight as the spread was great. In our hotel notes we wrote that it was our honeymoon and we couldn’t even tell that the note was even read as it felt like every other stay. At a 5 star I would expect them to care for those kinds of details as other stays we had in Thailand definitely caught those details.

Our stay at SO Bangkok was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff ensured a seamless experience. They promptly took our luggage and assured us it would be sent directly to our room, allowing us to check in stress-free on the 9th floor. While the process was underway, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink. The room was truly amazing, equipped with every amenity you could think of, from a comb and nail filer to a toothbrush, sewing kit, cotton pads, shower cap, shoe bag, and shoe mittens. It was evident that they went above and beyond to ensure guests had everything they might need. The mini bar in the room is a great add on, replenished daily with coconut water, grass jelly, water, and snacks The hotel staff left a lasting impression with their welcoming nature. Every time we encountered them, they greeted and acknowledged us. Interestingly, they chose not to use the elevators alongside guests, which I understand as a gesture of consideration, though I personally felt it unnecessary. The pool area was pristine, with clear signage displaying the chlorine and pH levels but I felt the water was cold in the pool and Jaccuzi On the last day, we encountered a minor issue with an unpleasant smell in our room. However, the hotel handled it quickly by upgrading us to a better room and offering 1,000 THB in dining credits as an apology. Later that evening, they went a step further by sending a handwritten note and a dessert with "Sorry" written on it

The SO/ Hotel is located in the embassy district of Lumphini. It was a convenient 2 stops on the MRT to the Convention Centre. It’s significantly quieter area than Sukhimvit, though there’s still a lot of traffic around. The hotel is in good condition - the buffet breakfast was fantastic, room service is efficient, nice pool. The rooftop bar was a bit too noisy for my taste, but this hotel does tend to attract a younger crowd.

Fantastic City Hotel, Fantastic Service and staff, Location was absolutely perfect, right next to subway and walk to Shopping & Restaurants (Love Northeastern right next door). Breakfast was over the top and the views beyond. I think overall it's fair to say the rooms are up for a renovation. Wear and Tear visible also on the pool level (still a 4 out of five)

The hotel located right next to MRT and makes it easy to go to any attractions. Hotel facility is gorgeous and staff are attentive and helpful. I highly recommended that and will come back again. A little secret, there are some venders next to the MRT station in the morning selling local Thai breakfast. Yummy and unbelievably cheap.

J’ai choisi cet hôtel car il fait partie de la chaîne Sofitel. Au final mon séjour a été assez quelconque. Pour un hôtel de luxe, j’ai trouvé le lieu assez impersonnel. Beaucoup trop de monde, un personnel pas toujours efficace, et qui parle très difficilement l’anglais. La nourriture est loin d’être excellente. C’est vrai qu’il y a du choix, mais j’ai quand même vu bien mieux ailleurs. Par exemple au petit déjeuner, ni ananas, ni pastèque … Pas courant pour la Thailande. La chambre est spacieuse, mais finalement très peu pratique. Par exemple la seule façon de regarder la télévision et d’être dans le lit. Le canapé se trouve de l’autre côté du mur. Incohérent. Malgré 1/15 étage, et une chambre de type Corner à 350 euros … Une triste vue sur un panneau publicitaire défraîchie, accroché à un bâtiment inoccupé. À ce prix là, j’espérais quand même avoir une vue sur le parc. Dans les Plus, je dirais la piscine, qui offre une vue magnifique sur le parc …

My stay here was fantastic. I booked it to have a relaxing spa day after traveling for 5 weeks all over SE Asia. The staff was kind and welcoming, the restaurants had many delicious options, my room was cozy with a beautiful view. I'd definitely stay here again!

Amazing stay with my family - used this as a meet up spot for my extended family coming from Australia and other areas of UK for a big family holiday. Hotel is very luxurious with exceptionally helpful staff. Pool great. Bars and restaurants without fault. Breakfast buffet is superb. Lucky to be upgraded to a loft suite which was out of this world. Access to own private checkin and concierge with own breakfast and high tea dining facility which we only used once as the main breakfast buffet was so sumptuous. This will be my regular go to from now on when in Bkk.

Love the room size and high ceilings. While the place looks good the bathroom is not functional. The sink is totally useless. Takes up so much space but the tap only reaches a tiny area and there is no space on vanity Would stay again but would check out the rooms first

We had a very pleasant stay and found the hotel to be clean and well maintained overall. One small area that could perhaps receive a little more attention is the pool area. In particular, the glass panels around the infinity pool were not quite as clean as we would have expected. This is a relatively minor point, but for a hotel of such a high standard and level of luxury, these small details can make a significant difference to the overall experience. We hope this can be improved, as the hotel has many qualities and deserves to be enjoyed at its very best.

I feel that the hotel is slightly dated and some of the room walls had cracks or chips, the buttons were not working entirely (curtain blinds could not close fully)
