Really good hotel. They called me in advance to let me know my room was ready early then the check-in was quick and easy. The building is quite old but well maintained and very clean. The pub on the main floor had standard pub fare and was medium busy. It was 10 dollar wing night which came with fries. Food was above average. Looks like a 60 inch television with all of the channels. Bathroom looks newly renovated and is spotless. Has bar fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. The only negative is the parking. There are meters next to the building that turn on 900am. There's a bigger public lot across the street about a 5 min walk. This would still be my first pick of hotels within the city of Cranbrook.

One of the best rooms on our road trip. There was no elevator but that’s no big deal. It was street parking bc it’s a renovated historic building. Finding a spot was pretty easy. Jim who checked us in was awesome and very helpful!!

We booked the weekend for Rock the Kootenays and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. jim is amazing and the rest of the staff also friendly and welcoming. Parking was no problem and was within walking distance to the concert. Oub next door was great, room was clean and spacious. Will stay again when we are in town

Room was good. Blinds desperately need cleaning. Upstairs neighbours were quite loud sometimes. Restaurant dinner was good on Saturday but didn’t include mushrooms & onions on steak sandwich as advertised. Sunday night menu was limited. No steak on Sunday??? My friend said fish was over cooked & dry. I had soup - Minestrone - not what I wanted - but was good.

Hard to have a good nights sleep. AC unit was undersized for room. Needed to be turned on long before guests arrive. Room had crumbs on desk. Dust on tables and had to wash off a lot of dirt on ceiling fan before we could use it. No blinds on windows so it was very bright early on. Shower hard to get into since it was in a large jacuzzi tub. It is too bad. We appreciate preservation of buildings, but a few amenities and better housekeeping would make this a much better stay.

The renovations were really good to update amenities while retaining the character. The bathroom soaps/shower dispensers were a thoughtful touch, as was the bottled water cooler. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. Unfortunately the room faced the street and it was very noisy late into the night.

This property is so noisy. When we were in our room we thought the window was open because we could hear people talking from the street- plain as if they were in our room. The windows are paper thin and so are the walls. We both had ear plugs with us and that didnt help. A group of people were in the hall at 1am being loud and obnoxious- they went to a room not far away and we listened to them laugh and be loud for about 30 more minutes. We finally fell asleep and 2am came...another group of people came to our wing and did the same thing. There is no one working the front desk after 10. We should not have booked this hotel- I think it would be better for younger people on a budget who dont care about getting much sleep.

The mixture of modern & historical is everywhere from the front lobby to your room, and make for an interesting stopover. Our room was large, with a kitchenette and a king bed. Very clean and not the ultra modern feel of new building hotel - history is paid homage by assorted old heaters on display for example. Quiet area in town, simple check in process.

The staff greeted us with a smile. Check in took less than 2 minutes. We walked up the easy one flight of stairs to our room. The room was a studio suite with a king bed. It was very reasonable at just over $100. The modern bathroom was beautiful along with a massive shower, free toiletries & a blow dryer. 2 large TVs, comfy bed and gorgeous original brick walls. Easy walk around to little shops & restaurants. Highly recommend!

I have stayed at the Baker Hotel a few times this year. It is clean, the rooms I have been in have a little kitchen with a microwave and coffeemaker. Bed is comfortable. Awesome pillows. Always quiet. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly.

Very nice hotel with a lot of history. The room was very comfortable and the walk in shower is fantastic. What really makes this place stand out is the amazing service Jim provides. He called us earlier in the morning to say the room was ready for early check-in... I have never experienced that level of service before!!! When we arrived he arranged a taxi to take us to the airport early the next morning before I even had all the words out. Jim is a real gem...thank you!!!

Although the staff were nice they were not available in the evening. We could hear a TV and talking behind the office door but no one answered the door or phone. It was cold so we needed an exptra blanket. We used our coats instead. Also, the TV system did not work and we were hoping for assistance there. If they would answer the phone that would be very helpful.

The service was first class. Front desk were all friendly and showed genuine care for me, even coming up to my room and politely warning me to move my car (I'd falsely thought I parked in hotel parking) which spared me a ticket. Excellent experience all around.

The Baker Hotel was awesome and Jim at the front desk was a gem! So helpful and kind! Gave us lots of ideas and suggestions for places to go and eat. The entire staff was exceptional! Will definitely stay here again, great place to stay and explore the nearby areas, hot springs, lakes and towns. However, Cranbrook literally shuts down for Labor Day so very limited places to eat but thankfully Jim alerted us to this so we had a plan.

Originally built in 1923 this hotel is like stepping back in time. Extensively renovated it’s a cool place to stay. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. We wish we could have stayed a couple more nights, and certainly will the next time we are in Cranbrook.

The hotel is a well maintained older hotel (historic red brick building) off the highway in the heart of downtown. The room is clean and spacious. We found excellent eateries within walking distance. We also enjoyed walking around looking at the older buildings.

Really good hotel. They called me in advance to let me know my room was ready early then the check-in was quick and easy. The building is quite old but well maintained and very clean. The pub on the main floor had standard pub fare and was medium busy. It was 10 dollar wing night which came with fries. Food was above average. Looks like a 60 inch television with all of the channels. Bathroom looks newly renovated and is spotless. Has bar fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. The only negative is the parking. There are meters next to the building that turn on 900am. There's a bigger public lot across the street about a 5 min walk. This would still be my first pick of hotels within the city of Cranbrook.

Jim at the front desk made our Cranbrook weekend memorable! Hotel was in a fantastic location for our needs, super friendly staff and excellent dining immediately around the hotel. Hotel is older but well looked after, beds were very comfy and the customer service was above excellent. Highly recommend :-)

Quaint place. Nicely decorated. Staff were great. Location was good. Pub next door had great food though you can hear patrons outside of your hotel room is at the front - pretty obvious that it will happen when you stay close to a pub so don’t complain about it! I’d go back. Thanks

Room was good. Blinds desperately need cleaning. Upstairs neighbours were quite loud sometimes. Restaurant dinner was good on Saturday but didn’t include mushrooms & onions on steak sandwich as advertised. Sunday night menu was limited. No steak on Sunday??? My friend said fish was over cooked & dry. I had soup - Minestrone - not what I wanted - but was good.

We booked the weekend for Rock the Kootenays and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. jim is amazing and the rest of the staff also friendly and welcoming. Parking was no problem and was within walking distance to the concert. Oub next door was great, room was clean and spacious. Will stay again when we are in town
