Rodeway Inn

Hotel is in poor condition. Our room had a weird smell, kinda like dog. Opened exterior door and it almost fell off the hinges. Absolutely no extras like breakfast, pool, spa, etc. Stayed just 1 night and my wife was very creeped out. I'm more tolerant of these things and wasn't as bothered. OK if you're not picky and just want a place to sleep, but not if you want to enjoy your stay. Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

I chose this motel because I was travelling with my dog. My expectations were low. The price per night was also low. I was charged $25 extra for my dog. Pros: low cost, comfortable bed, full bath, parking outside room, right on highway to Toronto. Staff always available and helpful. Good WiFi. Cons: area felt unsafe. Left my vehicle parked near main entrance because parking by the room backdoor looked sketchy. Also, backdoor only opens from the inside so there’s no way to use it to unload your vehicle or walk your dog, for example, unless you have another person in the room or you block it open at your own risk. The whole place, inside and outside the rooms needs a renovation. Everything looks shabby. The tub is scrubbed raw of all its enamel surface. The shower diverter didn’t work in my room, so the shower head produced a mere trickle. The TV was only as large as a large computer monitor and offered only basic channels. Not all the electrical outlets were functional in my room. I would recommend for the price but only if you need a place to sleep for the night and have low needs.

Regular room. Asked at the end of our week why we did not room cleaned daily. The person at front desk said you need to request. No microwave in room. There is one in the lobby was the answer front desk said.

In checking in, I was informed that my room was on the second floor. I never agreed to this as I have a lot of baggage to sort out. I was then assigned a ground floor room, but informed that the queen size beds on the ground floor were all taken. This was upsetting. I had pre-booked a queen bed weeks before. The young reception desk woman said my only option for a ground floor room was to take a room with twin beds. I became very upset. A twin bed is only 38 inches wide. She said there was nothing else or take a queen bed upstairs but there is no elevator; just stairs with all of my baggage. Trying hard to remain calm, I asked her to show me a ground floor room with these "twin" beds. We went to Room 110 to find that the "twin" beds were in fact "double" beds, being 54 inches wide - much different than her understanding of a twin bed. Under the circumstances and being very tired after a 5 hour drive, I took Room 110 with the double beds as a compromise, but not happy that booking in advance does not guarantee bed size or being automatically pencilled in for a second floor room. Someone really should inform that reception woman of bed size differences to prevent further altercations and a bad vibe staying at the Rodeway Inn. Most of the entire issue could have been avoided if she knew the difference between a twin and a double size bed. Returning to the Rodeway Inn, a week later, I was given Room 120 with a queen bed, as promised, however the bathroom smelled of urine.

It is a good place with good rooms. Cleanliness was good, although the bathroom was dated but nothing that would keep me from going again. I stayed 3 separate nights and, for the reasonable prices of the rooms, you get a better experience than I would have expected. Nothing was great, but it was “good” across the board. I will stay there again. *Also a nice bar/restaurant attached that was fun (although it closed around 10 or 11). And it’s in a decent area of town, near plenty of food options.

Very nice reasonably priced hotel. The rooms are a good size and in good shape. The bathrooms are clean. The hotel previously (and still promotes a free breakfast but seems to have discontinued providing anything. However, there is coffee in the rooms.

Place was disgusting, bathroom had mold and the tub hadn’t been cleaned at all. Saw ants and a roach. We didn’t even stay here we left and they refused to refund us. Do Not Stay here!!! I contacted the health department as well.

This property is horrible. It’s dirty, left over stuff in the fridge. Spiders and flies dead all over the room. Do Not Stay!

Lots of bugs in washroom & on the floor. Carpet was extremely dirty & smells very bad.

Very dated facility. Mold was extensive in shower area. Hallways and carpeted stairs looked as if it had been a week or more since last vacuumed Room was quiet. Temperature well controllable.

Floor was dirty (dirt and grass), room clearly not properly cleaned. When I called to switch room I was told they're booked full and cant be switched

Using the app, i requested a pet friendly unit on the main floor as we have a pet. Upon arrival was advised, i picked a room up top. Paid the diffference and moved to room 120. What a mistake that was. Found cockroaches. Contacted the desk, all they said was they had a problem and are addressing it. Did not offer another room, didnt off to give our money back to go else. I spent that night awake watching for bugs...so gross

There was a dead cockroach in our mini fridge. They would not clean it until the cleaners arrived the next day. The rooms was filthy bathroom had a lot of mold on the walls. This was not a good hotel at all. It’s worth spending a few extra bucks and getting a room from a better place.

There were no food options, the sheets on the bed were stained and there was no hair dryer. The floor in the bathroom and the bathtub were all marked up and the toilet hat yellow stains. We could not even shower. There was a funky smell in the room as well so much so neither I nor my daughter could sleep. The air conditioning also mDe loud sounds throughout the night.

The check in area was filthy. Carpets were not vacuumed. Public bathroom at check in had 2 toilets backed up. Once getting to the room it had a very strong odour of feces. I immediately returned to the desk and got a refund. With garbage bags at 2 separate rooms I could not imagine staying at his motel

Dirty bugs everywhere the staff take no pride in Customer service or cleaning the rooms. The bathtub was so dirty we didn’t even use it.

The common space and rooms are in desperate need of upgrading. Very out of date. Cleanliness was poor, lots of dust in areas that should be dust free. The walls (interior and exterior) are incredibly thin. I could hear everything from the rooms beside my room as well as the general traffic from the near by intersection. If you're a light sleeper, you are going to have a bad time here.

First I reserved a ground floor room. It was not available then the TV in my room didn't work also there was no microwave in my room all around terrible stay

No hairdryer in room but there's an iron! Only 2 bath towels for 4. No breakfast. Very thin walls. Very old property that needs much renovations. Floors in room very badly damaged. However beds are comfortable and clean. Limited and cheap amenities. No water pressure for shower

Like sleeping in the middle of the road

Check in was pleasant. Went to the room and immediately was hit with a cold draft. Went to open the door that lead outside and was met with an even colder draft. The wall unit that was in the wall was letting in cold air. Went to turn the heat on, figured I’d need to let it kick in. Unpacked my car, still no signs of being warm. Called front desk and they didnt do anything. The heat register was in the bathroom where it wasn’t even making the bathroom warm. Asked them for a new room. Fully booked up so couldn’t move us. Brought us extra blankets. We needed to purchase an electric heater for the 2nd night. It was unbearable. We’ve stayed here before and have had no issues. Will not be staying there again.

Good location, nice staff. Nice room, very comfortable bed, but bed skirt needed adjustment, carpet with multiple snags. Outside of window, mirrors need to be cleaned. Hallway dingy and in dire need of vacuuming, some icky white stuff along one edge. Nice to have a restaurant on site.

Haven't got much to eat no microwave in the room and the TV was broken for that

The room was a little outdated but it was clean. The bed was comfortable and sheets crisp clean. In the bathroom there was no hair dryer and the water pressure in the shower head was not strong and weak. We arrived at hotel in the evening and near entrance the big garbage bins were overflowing with garbage and by the next morning when we left they still had not been emptied. We were looking for a hotel to stay for the night while in our travels and would stay only less than 12 hours in the room and it was fine for our needs.

A little rundown and not as clean as it should be. The A/C did not blow cold.

the property is not what they advertise. Room and carpets in rooms are not clean, hallway not clean, no elevator, there was garbage and empty liquor bottles in the hallway. Staff was not friendly upon check in.

I would give negative stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! They will ask for a deposit, hold it, refuse to refund it and blame everyone and everything but themselves for this. It's been 3 weeks since I stayed there and they still haven't fixed this. Expedia should delist them. The room was infested with ants (in December) and the room was if poor quality. Their "breakfast nook" area had a giant out of service sign that has been there for months probably and it looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 90's

We had a late night check in. Travel with small kids the front desk agent was extremely helpful and checked us in speedy quick. It was muchly appreciated

Room not cleaned during my stay. I was asked for my credit card which is routine at check in, but not informed that $50.00 will be placed on my credit card. I received a bank alert on my phone. When I enquired, I was told it is a security deposit.

Location was ideal

Was glad it was a pet friendly motel. Room was spacious and comfortable. A little far from downtown Sudbury. The rate was very reasonable and being close to the main highway was convenient.

Economical and great location

Practical budget hotel well situated in south Sudbury, rooms good. Hallways not cleaned regularly. A number of guests making excessive noise late into night and early in morning.

A nice older property in good condition. Surrounding area is rather unkept.

Perfectly adequate. Room was a bit dated, but clean and well maintained. Immediate area is a bit industrial with not much other than the restaurant in walking distance. It was just a truck stop for me, and did the job well.

The entire place smells bad. It’s dirty and old. Do yourself a favor and pay another $20 and stay somewhere else. If all you want is bed and don’t mind the smell then this is the place for you. The restaurant was good. There is no elevator. Expedia give no refunds.

The restaurant/ lounge was great as was the coffee shop . The front desk personnel were great as well.and front desk area was clean. The front and rear stairs on the other hand were littered with trash and mud, Our room was dusty, the microwave was dirty and around the faucets there was facial hair from the previous guest. Better housekeeping would bring better reviews.hair dryers in the rooms would also be an idea
