We love Lake Placid and this the first time we stayed at the Grand Adirondack. the staff and Hotel itself were great and there were a few Comfortable “lobby” areas to sit at. the free coffee in the morning was great. The cons were they charged $24 a day for valet parking, which is obviously way too much for Northern New York. Also the drinks and food at the cloud splitter and Marcy bar Are also “New York City” type pricing. Hopefully they realize that there aren’t many people there because of the pricing and they lower them. We went to cloud splitter twice, and we were charged $18 for their house white wine, and when we looked up the bottle, the bottle was actually cheaper at all the liquor stores we go to. Same for the Bourbon, It was a cheaper Bourbon and it was a very weak pour. We were only two of six people on a beautiful, perfect day and the other day there was a big retirement party and when they left, nobody was there. It’s an amazing spot with an amazing view, but the prices are way too high.

hotel very nice and clean, no swimming pool or parking for guests on the downside. Paid parking which is a bit disappointing considering the high price per night. The bar is open only until 10 pm, my husband and I came at 9:55 for a drink but we were asked to leave and it was very disappointing, rooms were nice and clean

The valet parking situation is poor..had to wait 45 min to get our vehicle at dinner time. Waited in line to be seated at breakfast for over 1/2 hr, finally went somewhere else for breakfast. The hotel itself is beautiful and location is perfect!!

One of two elevators were not working the four days we were there. The service staff and customers had to compete to use the one elevator which was tough when the staff was transporting linen carts etc during prime hours. It was a nightmare getting to the sixth floor

The hotel is located on the main street, but the main entrance is from the parking lot. If there was a parking option, I was offered valet parking for $20 The restaurant closed at 9 o'clock on Sunday. If you are visiting on the weekend, be prepared for this I really liked the opportunity to have free tea in the lobby The rooms are large and very clean

The property was very well appointed and maintained. Our suite was very nice, quiet and comfortable. We did not have a chance to try the hotel restaurant, although it looked very nice and had an appealing menu. The rooftop bar had many lounge chairs snd tables with seating, all of which offered a spectacular panoramic view of Main Street, Lake Placid and Mirror Lake. The hotel could greatly increase the foot traffic of the fabulous venue if they expanded their drinks menu which is limited, and offered small plate appetizers in addition to drinks. More experienced bartenders would also be a boost...the Apperol Spritz drink that I had that cost $17 had was undrinkable.

Excellent stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar was great, with excellent views. The real winner was the food at the restaurant which was absolutely incredible. The food alone will be bringing us back. Our only negative comment was that the lake view windows needed to be cleaned badly. Otherwise an excellent stay in beautiful Lake Placid

There were things we liked and things we didn't like about the hotel. First, what we liked! Great location. Right on the quaint Main Street in town where there were lots of shops and restaurants. And we had a view of the lake from our room. Also, the room is actually two rooms - a bedroom and a sitting room with a sleeper sofa, coffee table, chair and TVs in both rooms. Also, for a low price paid when booking, we were able to get a nice breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel for less of a price than they normally charge in the restaurant. Now, the things I didn't like....... first thing I noticed was a dead bug (cockroach - yuck!) on the window sill. That grossed me out. Two things that would improve the room a great deal: first, more light! There were not enough lights and the ones that were there were very dim. We are in our 70's and I had difficulty reading by the lights. The bedroom at least had a big window and natural light. But, the bedroom consisted of a bed, two night stands and a TV hanging on the wall. My second suggestion: a small table and chairs - there was plenty of room for it - in either room. There was no desk or table - only the coffee table. We ate in both nights and leaning over the coffee table to eat was not great. I have a bad back. Also, I brought my computer and again, having to lean over to work on the coffee table - not comfortable! Also, you are given no choice but Valet parking for $19 a day.

Not that nice... parking challenges as it is valet only for a fee. Hotel was renovated but it still appears and feels old. No water pressure on upper floor. Center of town however is a plus.

Our room was nice. Bed was comfy and the view of Mirror Lake was nice. Its right downtown, which made it easy to walk for shopping and food. You have to either pay $24 a day for valet or $25 for overnight parking in a public lot. We walked everywhere and drove for hiking.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations! I booked last minute on a trip without looking into it but we ended up with a suite, very spacious, large bathroom with walk in shower, two tvs with good reception and pleasing, modern decor. Wish we could've stayed another night!

The Property looked new and located right in downtown. The actual building was very noisy as you could hear every sound coming from the rooms next door, up above and in the streets. The breakfast was a joke! it was 2 different breakfast sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil which anyone knows will make them soggy along with some basic continental items. It was located in the bar that only had 1 dining table with 6 chairs, so it was time to get to know your neighbors. We took 1 bite and decided to go out for breakfast. Not what I expected!

The hotel is in the perfect spot. The rooftop bar is a tremendous idea. There was little hot water for 4 of the 5 days we were there. The housekeeping staff had poor timing. They would come at 9 am and if we weren't out then, they wouldn't be back until 4 pm. At that point, we were lucky to get them.

Over charged us on the valet service. Website says $19, they charged $24 per day. Over charged my card for a bar charge. Contacted someone to fix it on Monday, still waiting for a response. The hotel was clean and the staff was respectful, but there needs to be better communication, especially if you are going to be charge more.

This is a Marriott hotel which made me happy to see! It was a last min booking & was avail. Right in the middle of Main St. Paid for 1 BR, sleeps 4. It was TINY!! Can't walk past the pull out when it's out-it's so small. But for one night-functional and clean. Friendly staff & they brought a micro to the room on request. Two cons-housekeeping came at 9am & 10am asking when we were leaving for 11am checkout. Kind of annoying. Also, the parking-valet is $19. Municipal is free overnight and $6 for the day. The valet lot apparently filled up so they brought our car to the municipal lot & in the am when we wanted to put our stuff in our car we had to walk it to our car. We would have just parked it in municipal ourselves if that's what we were paying $19 for. It's supposed to be unlimited in/out valet and we wanted to stay parked for the day so after packing everything up & bringing to our car ourselves, I talked to the front desk who said valet should have gotten the car for us and then driven it back. She took off the valet charge which was appreciated. Overall nice stay.

Everything was great. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and well appointed, beautiful bathrooms with all the amenities. The only issue we had was getting housekeeping and engineering to deal with two small matters during our stay and we needed to ask the front desk twice on both occasions. Being a new hotel, perhaps they don't have an apparatus in place as yet to ensure that these requests don't get forgotten.

Hotel staff was friendly, attentive and responsive to requests. Breakfast service at Marcy's was wonderful! Convient location for accessing the town. Only real negative was the parking. You need to more clearly communicate upfront the Valet parking is $22 per day and is the only realistic option while staying at your Hotel.
