Clean room and bathroom. Easy check in. Pool was heated and nice. My only issue was the balcony. We would have had a gorgeous view of the mountains, which we were expecting, but the area in front of the balcony was super overgrown with shrubs and not maintained. If those had been clipped back, it would have made a huge difference.

We were just passing through and only stayed one night but we enjoyed our stay. The grounds were very nice and the view from the pool was spectacular. Our room was spacious, very clean and very quiet. We were within walking distance to the downtown area and restaurants. They served complimentary coffee and tea in the morning in the lobby. It was interesting learning about the history of the hotel.

Hotel was in a convenient location. Property needs updating. Room smelled damp, refrigerator froze drinks and mattresses were very soft. Pool was nice and place was quiet. Reasonably priced though so I would stay again.

First off, the most impressive facet of this hotel is The Olympic Suite. As far as my experience is concerned, which was a 2 night stay at the suite, it was incredibly amazing. The suite is more like a massive 2 bedroom apartment with stunning sunlit views. Quiet, serene, tranquil. Plenty of parking right in the front. Walkable to the main market with plethora of restaurants and a theater as well. Be sure, they do not serve a full breakfast, but do make up for that with free coffee and packaged donuts, muffins and other snacks. Overall, it is a nice and quiet property with an incredible suite. I would impel everyone to check it out at least once to give it a try. I personally think a 2 night stay was very less to properly enjoy the suite, but I'm definitely coming back for the wonderful experience. Thanks to The Devlin team.

The Devlin has an Olympic history, notably displayed in the lobby area. This quaint motel has some old-fashioned charm but rooms have been mostly remodeled, especially the bathroom. The television is large, there is a refrigerator and a small microwave.The pool is nice and well-kept. If you have mobility issues, reserve a first-floor room; there are no elevators.The location is convenient to the downtown area, Olympic museum, bowling alley, and restaurants -- most a walking distance. The front desk workers were very nice, and they were willing to share further information about the founder and two owners. Our only complaint was the breakfast (continental) in a tight space. We made do for two days, though.

I would caution against staying in this hotel. One night stay room 15 woke up in the morning with numbers of bites around both legs, lower extremities feet, consistent with bedbugs. Contacted the hotel and felt that the right thing was to do was to cop the room, but instead they tried to negotiate, asking me what I would like them to do.

Family, 6 adults, overnight vacation in Lake Placid. Spectated Nordic high school ski race at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, recreational skiing on trails. Spent overnight at The Devlin, Art Devlin Suite. Very clean, open gathering area with electric fireplace large enough for 6 adults to gather comfortably. Kitchen, pots/pans, utensils, microwave, stovetop, large refrigerator all very clean. Soap, sponges provided. Needed extra garbage bags. Master bedroom very large and clean. Comfortable bed. Loft bedroom, full beds not queen beds, no TV in loft bedroom, but comfortable. Bathroom very large and clean, plenty of towels, soap/shampoo/extra toilet paper provided, toilet had issues with flushing but able to work with it. Walking distance into/around town. Staff very friendly. Would stay here again.

Easily one of the cleanest and most comfortable rooms we have ever stayed in! The view of the mountains and Olympic ski jumping towers from our second floor room was excellent. The staff at check-in were great! Lots of eating options within a couple blocks and just a short walk up to The Olympic Center and the main strip. Will be our go-to next time we visit Lake Placid.

We have stayed at the Devlin for a family gathering now for the past 4 years after the Christmas and New Year holidays, and we always find this motel to be clean, well designed, conveniently located, and very family friendly, in large part due to the excellent staff. They are very accommodating. We will continue our annual holiday family tradition of staying at the Devlin in Lake Placid after the holidays.

The only good thing about this Inn is the location! The outside are area of the Inn was ok but because the bowling alley is right next door you can forget about a quite evening! Now as for the cleanliness of the room it was disguising!!! It smelled so bad we slept with the balcony door opened in 60 degree weather! We even found a dirty sock in the room.

We were able to get a room here last minute. Staff was friendly,roo. Was clean, other than stains on the carpet. The bed was entirely too soft though,o we tossed and turned most of the night. Also, even though we ran the AC all night, we couldn't seem to get the room cooled to a comfortable sleeping temperature.

It was 10:00pm when we first complained about the walls shaking because of the loud music. The bar next to the hotel had a live band playing, they said it would stop by 10:30. At 11pm we went back and they said the bar closes at 12 it will be over soon. The walls are blasting with the Pink Floyd , we are room #50. We had woken up at 3am that morning flew 4 hours and then drove 6 hours with our child for an early drop off at camp the next morning. All we wanted was sleep, the music stopped at 11:47pm. It is an overpriced motel. The pictures shown are a blatant lie, it is so dark, small , the carpet is from 1970 , the AC barely worked, was so loud that between that and the music it was impossible to sleep. DO not stay here unless you plan not to sleep. I contemplated sleeping in my SUV if I didn't have my child with me.

This is a motor inn, so stairs to second floor rooms. It was a very nice stay. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and there was a big comfy recliner chair. Also small table for 2 with chairs. Big sliding glass doors opened to balcony with two chairs. Nice view of mountains in distance. There was some road noise when on balcony, but quiet when sliders closed. The lighting in room was excellent with recessed lights on dimmer switch in addition to lamps. Just coffee available for breakfast, but small fridge & microwave in room. Bathroom was larger than average & water pressure good. Would stay again.

It’s a motor lodge - we had a nice large room overlooking some of the high peaks . Room is large and you can control the heat. Mattress is firm but not overly so. Nice hairdryer and bathroom in general. Very clean. Carpeted (brown probably a good choice!) - might be useful to have a boot tray this time of year.

We got a room on the second floor with mountain view and a balcony, and it was gorgeous! The room had vaulted ceilings and an Adirondack vibe to it. Everything was very clean and in working order. The only thing I didn’t love is how small the showers are. I’m 5’8” and my husband is 6’3”, and we both had to hunch over to shower. Otherwise everything was perfect!

A couple significant, common motel issues though: - AC was not powerful enough to really cool the room, especially with a large room and the AC wall unit around a corner from the bed area - extremely loud - from adjacent neighbors, outside noises, and especially any sounds upstairs

We loved the history about this property! At check in the woman at the front desk was the nicest most informative receptionist I have ever encountered. She walked us through the history of the hotel, the famous Devlin family, restaurant's, mirror lake, & attractions near by. One of the best check ins we ever had! During check out we interacted with her again & another wonderful lady who helped us with our ventures for that day. Very informative & both were so sweet. We will definitely come back to this hotel it was super clean, comfortable, & so convenient so we could walk to & around mirror lake. We couldn’t have been happy with everything. Thank you very much for taking the time with us- we made a lot of special memories here at The Devlin & mirror lake.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and extremely helpful. We love this hotel due to its lovely rooms, which are clean and very spacious. The Devlin is our "go to hotel" whenever we are traveling to Lake Placid. For the price, you cannot find a higher quality place to stay.

Staff was amazing. We asked for extra towels and had them in less than 5 minutes. Hotel is downtown near a lot of things to see and do. Hotel was owned by former Olympian Art Devlin and all his medals are at the hotel which was really cool.

The only inconveniences, and they were minor: the sockets were too loose for charger bricks, and there could be a stool or something next to the door to sit to put on shoes. Pluses were huge: nice, big, clean room, with microwave, fridge, big tv, good coffee, bathtub. Great view from the porch. Free coffee and grab and go breakfast. Ample parking and walkable to town. Everything was super clean. Service was excellent. The Devlin/Olympics story makes it charming and unique. Great place to stay at Lake Placid.

I recently planned a 2 night stay and after the first night I left. The kids running around, screaming, literally sounded like a dance party above my head. Woke up to gum stuck to my car windows and soda cans on the hood. During the first night I called the front desk twice with no actions taken. Because of my lack of sleep and potential more car damage I checked out a day early. Absolutely NO refunds, actually absolutely NO response from the manager after emails and phone calls. The lack of response from the manager is unfortunate because apparently the kids of the hockey tournaments are more important because the money brought it. I will be canceling an upcoming reservation to this hotel in January…and will never stay again. Great job Art Devlin…amazing customer service

We spent a night at The Devlin just for a quick weekend getaway. Everything about this place is outstanding. The woman at the check-in counter was super pleasant and helpful. The room (one king bed) was spacious and clean. The location was excellent .. easy walk to downtown. Absolutely nothing bad to say about The Devlin. Highly recommend!!

The cleanliness, friendliness and proximity to town was fantastic. A short uphill walk to get to the shopping and dining, yet far enough away to have peace and quiet. Mountain View room was exactly what it was advertised as. Great view of the apex of the ski jump apparatus with a great mountain backdrop. Sunrise was an unexpected bonus!!

The Devlin is perfectly located on Main Street just blocks from the speed skating oval and all the bars and restaurants in the village. The hotel is pet friendly, and our dogs were welcomed each time we went out for a walk. Free coffee and donuts were offered each morning. And the staff was polite, warm, and knowledgeable about the area. We will stay at the Devlin each time we return to Lake Placid, and recommend it highly.

Breakfast was not the best. Everything was pre- packaged. For the price for the night, I am accustomed to a much better hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon and home fries. Please improve your breakfast.

This Hotel was better then expected. It was very clean and they are making looks of updates(new shower). The staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, toast the waffles, so yummy! We will be returning. Thank you Devlin!
