Element by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown

The room was very nice. The garage, across the driveway and through a door connects to the hotel by an elevator, you should be aware that there are leaky pipes in the ceiling which will deposit chalky residue on your car, so you might want to avoid parking near them. The staff is accommodating and excellent.

Very disappointed with our stay at Element. We booked this hotel solely for the use of the rooftop bar area. It was a friends birthday and we drove down earlier from Montana in order to utilize the rooftop bar for her birthday. Upon arrival we were informed this was booked for a private event. The hotel was very nice and everyone was friendly but we were very frustrated that we had planned our arrival around a hotel amenity that we were not allowed to use.

Very nice property that was clean and quiet. Nice size gym and rooftop pool with awesome views. Staff was friendly. Two very popular restaurants located downstairs in same courtyard so weekends get busy. Location has a small parking garage and a very large surface lot for paid parking- worth it if you’ve stayed in the city before! Location is surrounded by places to drink/eat within walking distance. The free continental breakfast was quite different than other places we’ve stayed- very small area and very small selection. We found another dining option for our second morning. Overall, it was a great stay and we will always try to book here when returning!

The hotel and staff were lovely. Good location for going into our SLC office. The food at Adelaide was wonderful. My only 2 critiques are 1) please don't scent the rooms. I requested no scent on the second stay which was much better (rotten allergic reaction to the scent meant no sleep and red skin!) and 2) the parking is really tight. When I arrived on Saturday night, I had to wait for a parking space to open up before I could check in - not enough available spaces.

Pool is small and overflowing with people. It needs to be bigger, with way more seating. Would have been nice after a hot day. Otherwise, fabulous property.

Parking lot was full and Valet was full, so we had to pay an additional charge for the Event Parking ($22.00) next to Property as instructed from Front desk. Non refundable. Very disappointing!!!!

Hotel is very clean, parking is easy. Bed is comfortable. You can walk to other restaurants. Mondays the bar on the roof is closed and that’s not listed anywhere would have made us change places if we would have known. All the bars and restaurants near by are very expensive so we went back to the room earlier than expected. If you’re new to Utah you can only have one drink at the bar in the motel because legally it’s marked a restaurant. Weird we already ate so didn’t want to order their expensive food and you can’t have more than one drink without ordering food!

Our stay it was good overall. I just wish the pool was a little bigger, it was crowded every time we try to go. Also the carpet in our room need a good deep cleaning, it was pretty dirty.

Found someone used underwear under the sink in my hotel bathroom. Good swimming pool. Good service besides cleaning.

Beautiful property. Poorly managed and maintained. Front desk staff was not helpful upon entry - we had to request help, direction from other guests. Despite advertisement and high room cost, the Pool was NOT heated and the pool area a MESS. We had to leave. There was hair from previous guest in my shower. Only high point was Breakfast Bar and wonderful server/host.

My husband and I stayed at the Element Salt Lake City Downtown for two nights at the end of a long trip. We were excited to stay here because the hotel is centrally located downtown and relatively close to the airport. The room was nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the rooftop pool; although, it is quite small and doesn't have sufficient seating for the large number of people using it. In the end, we were disappointed in our stay after a number of issues. After we checked in, we could not access the WIFI and it required more than an hour to resolve, involving several calls to the front desk, a long hold with the WIFI service provider who ended up disconnecting the call before our issue was resolved, and a trip to the front desk and long wait in line to talk to the desk staff. We parked onsite for one night, but we were charged for two nights, and, despite several calls over nearly a week, we are still waiting for reimbursement for the erroneous $22 charge. The parking itself was secure and easy to access, but there were not enough parking spaces on a Friday night, and we had to park on the opposite side of the garage in short-term parking intended for retail businesses. While we booked the room for two, the bathroom only had one towel. The shower also had no shelf or other surface to set shampoo, conditioner, or shaving supplies, just a wall mounted shampoo and body wash. After these issues, our stay was not enjoyable and we would not stay here again.

The room was small, the pool area was way too small and overcrowded for the size of the hotel, we could hear kids crying from our room essentially all night, the breakfast area was again too small for the size of the hotel, so much so that we were unable to eat before we checked out on Sunday morning. It was fine but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Stayed here on Saturday Night, Gorgeous brand new hotel in a great part of downtown Salt Lake. Room was beautiful. However, every time someone in a room in our floor opened their door or closed it we could here it in our room. The doors slammed shut. During the middle of the night and early in the morning doors slamming shut..woke us up over a dozen times. It may be that the doors are so new they need to be broken in for a while. Dont sleep here!

I didn’t like hearing everyone talking in the hall and the door slammed shut every time . The beds were too hard

This hotel has amazing amaenities, beautiful and modern, great room views, convenient location. The rooftop pool was cool and the rooftop bar was awesome! We had a room with a kitchen, living room, and separate room for the parents to sleep!

Great hotel. Clean, quiet and comfortable. The only downside was ride share drivers had a hard time finding the entrance. I would suggest walking to a more notable landmark when calling a ride.

Our check in desk attendant Sheldon was very cold and gave us no information about the property. If we hadnt over heard the nice woman checking others in next to us we wouldnt have even known how to operate the elevator.

They over charged me told me one price then charged my card for more

My real only issue is it's been 8 days and I still haven't recieved my deposit of $900 plus. It's been exactly 8 days since I checked out, I did not leave a mess and I've never had to wait this long to be told your deposit could take 2 weeks. I mean Motel 6 is quicker than that.

We stayed here before and had no issue. The hotel is well designed, generally calm and peaceful. This time there was a lot of noise coming from the room next door which had to be reported to front desk. They sent security who dealt with the matter swiftly. Breakfast was excellent with great omelettes freshly made.

The good: Nice new property. The room was decent and clean. The kitchenette was a nice touch. Guests seemed to enjoy the free breakfast (I did not have it; just wanted to leave) The bad: The entire Lobby smelled like ham sandwiches; no light clean scent like most hotels. I don’t eat pork so I was thoroughly grossed out. I could not find the valet person so I went to the front desk to ask for help. The check in gal said “I don’t know where they are so I can’t help with the valet”. What hotel doesn’t have a number for the valet desk. At most hotels you can call down before leaving and they’ll bring your car around. Her tone seems annoyed and unwilling to help. I would understand if she was busy but I was the only person in the lobby too check out. Don’t get me started on the service at the property restaurants lol. Probably won’t be coming back.

Upon checking in the staff didn’t notify us on key touch for the elevator. While I was busy with checking in , my husband took our bags to our room using the elevator..well, since we were not notified about keys are the way to operate the elevator, he was stuck there for couple of minutes but for a person with panic attacks, it feels like an eternity. We were on a vacation in Utah so we hoped it wouldnt be stressful to just “checking in”. Also, asked for a room with a different view but was told the view on a parking lot is all they had available . I’ve started googling through third party’s and somehow rooms were available with a better view ! The room was clean . Bartender at the restaurant on the first floor didn’t seem too eager to get his tip either . Would I stay again, NO.

We had an amazing time at the Element hotel. Our primary reason for choosing this hotel was of how close it was to the Delta Center. It is a 2-5 minute walk depending on which entrance you use. The hotel was clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the gym, the contential breakfast, and the rooftop pool. I would highly recommend, and would book again next time I'm in Salt Lake.

Beautiful hotel, room was simple but well done and right in the middle of downtown. We went to a basketball game at Delta Center and were able to walk, super convenient.

Beautiful weekend stay and this hotel is in the middle of everything. 5 minute walk to the convention center & Delta Center! Easy train ride from the Airport.. There is plenty of restaurants in the area, but my favorite is Valter’s Osteria & you will need a reservation 2-3 weeks in advance.. Can’t wait to return to Salt Lake🙂

First time staying at the Element after staying at the Meridian that is on the same property. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Very comfortable mattress and pillows. The rooms are furnished for a longer stay with a small kitchenette. Overall a great hotel that is centrally located in downtown SLC.

Right across the street from the Delta center. Clean, nice place to stay.

I was really impressed with the Element. The room was a great size with awesome amenities including a full stovetop and pots/pans. Every employee I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful. My only slight ding would be a dog on my floor that was whining for a few days. I’m sure if I’d asked they would have moved me rooms, but it wasn’t enough of an issue for me to both. The rooftop bar is incredible. The afternoon happy hours in the lobby were great. The complimentary breakfast far exceeded expectations with tons of options and made to order omelettes.

Room and hotel very clean and beautiful. Breakfast was very disappointing. No protein available. Yogurt was empty and no forks. We were there with 45 minutes left of breakfast and nothing restocked.

Rooms are newer and modern, but poorly constructed. Pillows are a lumpy mess. Carpeting and tiling have visible gaps, bathroom tiling has gaps. Breakfast was the worst I've ever encountered at any Marriott. The Spring Hill suites four blocks away does everything better for the same quality accommodations. Parking also cost $25/ day. Again, just for blocks away the parking is free and the breakfast is better with real oatmeal and decent coffee instead of pouches and broken coffee machine and a couple of dry bagels and brown bananas. Didn't even bother with breakfast the second day - that's how bad it was. I've stayed in a lot of Marriotts over the years from 3 to 5 stars, and this is by far the one of the most modern ones, but also cheaply constructed and you can see corners cut everywhere. Elevators were amazingly fast and the cleaning service staff wonderful and helpful.

we live in the area about once a month we go and stay downtown nicevnew hotel checkout was 11 we started getting knocks on our door at 945 the upstairs bar was terrible service was a joke food was below average we left and went to a bar across the street
