TRU BY Hilton Galveston

Property in a great location. Pool was great. staff was above and beyond. However, we staid on the third floor and could hear every step the room above us made.

I just don’t like the fact that they charge parking and everywhere you go smh

We were on the Top floor, only one elevator was working, took an hour to get it to get to our room, so we missed meeting friends on the first day. On the day we checked out, we arrived back at the hotel @10am from the back to ck out and found both elevators were broken, we were not given any extra time past 11am to check out, it took us 20 extra min to get to the room, it was terrible, stairs are not air conditioned, staff started banging on our door @10:30 saying we needed to leave

Everything was great about our stay, except for the disappointing of all the EV car chargers not working, being unable to charge my car at the hotel. :(

Needs a Bigger pool

Our stay was good, the location was great breakfast was great, since you can choose from both sides of the hotel which has different items for breakfast. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only issue is that one of the elevators was out of order so the wait time was long and the rooms did not come with a microwave.

Good location, friendly staff and well-maintained facilities. Noise from Seawall Blvd was unfortunately very noticeable at night. EV Chargers! :-) Huge plus for me anyway.

The hotel was very packed and the fact that one little pool was for both connecting hotels was very crowded with kids. Kids running up and down the hotel and halls all times of the night screaming. The staff/front desk was very rude and dry. They charged me 50.00 during check in but didn’t inform me of the parking cost until I asked. As a Hilton member the perks I get at other hotels I did not get at this One. I asked for an ice bucket and the girl at the front desk basically threw it at me. The next morning I asked for a late check out 11:30 or noon and another girl at the desk told me it doesn’t matter if I’m a member or not nobody is getting a late check out. I will not be back to this hotel ever.

The room was good. Liked the balcony and the location. Did not like that there was only one elevator working and the halls and elevator were not air conditioned. Breakfast was good but super busy as it was shred with another hotel.

Room floor was dirty, it was a beach front room without the beach front view, the air conditioner was wonky and it was either freezing or you were burning up and there was a hair on my sheets when I pulled the covers back

The only thing I did not like is to have a big cockroach in bed in the middle of the night which scared me so much and then I found it hard to get sleep

I have stayed here before and loved it. I was a little disappointed this time. Roaches in the bathroom,A/C was not the best and the bed was not comfortable let alone could hardly sleep due to obnoxious upstairs neighbors pounding on the floor. For the amount paid for the room AND $15 night parking. Last year it was $10 when I stayed. Sadly this is my last stay with y’all.

This hotel is so very clean and welcoming! The pool is very cute for little children. The only downfall was we found a lot of hair left around our room, bathroom, balcony and towels. Overall, a great place.

Room was dirty it was sold out so they couldn’t give us another room. They wouldn’t clean the room cus she was the only one working. There was tampons in the trash and blood or make up on the towels on the floor. The bed was a king and was supposed to be 2 queens I needed 2 rooms for 8 people.

Cleanliness of the room and friendly staff.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The included breakfast was nice. Our biggest issue was the noise. There was constant door slamming and people talking in the hallways. Not to mention the AC in our room was very loud to the point you could not sleep. We also reserved an ocean view room. What we received was a view of the ocean from an angle. The main view from the balcony was the entrance to an after hours emergency room. Wasn’t what we considered a pleasurable sight. Very disappointed in Hilton.

Would of liked coffee and bottled water in the room And would help to have a way to hold my balcony door open

The hotel was clean, the room ok but was disappointed there was no closet and they said they only cleaned if you requested it. The shower was handicapped accessible which was ok but the water went all over the floor because it didn't drain properly. The water went all over the floor and out into the hall and was VERY SLIPPERY. We had to use all the towels and handclothes to clean up the floor. The towels were sopping wet so I called down to the desk and asked if someone could come and clean it up. That was Sunday morning about 10:30am. We went to walk on the the beach where I fell and became all wet and dirty. This was a pro lem because I am 75 yrs old and disa led. When returning back to the hotel we stopped at the desk and asked if our room had been cleaned and we needed towels if it had not. The young lady that had checked us in was there with a young man. The man looked on his phone and said it has not and he would get us a.new set of towels. The young woman told him to give me 1 towel and I told the young man I wanted 2 . We followed the young.man and he offered to give us a whole new set. I took 2 towels only. 8 hrs after I first requested that someone come clean the water up in the bathroom I called and asked if anyone was coming and was told no, I could only get a new set of towels. I said ok but it would sure be ashamed if we slipped and feĺl. About 10mins later a young man came to deliver a new set of towels. I showed him the fbathroom floor oset

I like the location right by everything walkable to areas staff was nice only downfall was a bunch of dogs almost stepped on poop by the elavtor Pillows uncomfortable probably need to put 4 instead of 3 my wife only had 1 pillow and it’s wasn’t good and the ocean view we paided for was at a angle had a huge pillar blocking half the view

It's got a great location! Right across from the beach, we had corner room with a balcony. Couldn't have asked for a better room location. But....the pillows suck! Even with 2 they are flat as a pancake. I reserved a king but we got a queen. Only 2 elevators for the entire Tru hotel. While the breakfast selection looked plentiful there were way too many screaming children in the area to fully enjoy a breakfast.

Great AC. Not the balcony view I imagined but nice to have. Super cozy bed and linens. Seawall traffic is very noisy.

First the ocean view was great!! However…you are literally on the street, so if you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this room because you will hear all of the vehicles/motorcycles driving up and down the seawall ALL night long!! Our upstairs neighbors” kept my husband awake till 3am. When I mentioned it to the front desk the next morning the response was “OK, thank you” nothing more, nothing less. I am handicapped, I park there when needed, parking here is extremely limited and they tell you this when you check-in. There was a vehicle parked in handicap with no handicap plates or placard. Husband mentioned it to the front desk, the response “OK, thank you”. I later did get to speak with the MOD Jessica and she was shocked to hear this was the response that we received. And apologized tremendously. I would stay here again, just in the top floor, and preferably not facing the street.

Paper thin walls. No dresser drawers

I've stayed in better rooms for less money! The room faced west so the view was what I'd call a partial ocean view not an ocean front view and the balcony was tiny with only two chairs so don't expect to be able to eat out on it. The room was clean but very small and cramped with very low water pressure in the shower, no microwave, no personal coffee pot, no complimentary bottle water or ice bucket like most other hotel rooms we've stayed in. Breakfast was good once we saw they have two serving areas (something we didn't know about until after checkout cause no one told us beforehand.) But yeah in the first line the scrambled eggs were watery and the fruit was bad. The sausage and pancakes were good though. And on the second line all the baked goods were great. So overall would I say for the $300 I spent on one night was it worth it? Absolutely not, we will book somewhere else next time but if nothing else is available when you go and you only planning on sleeping when you're there is a good place I guess.

The staff was professional and courteous. The room was clean. I enjoyed the lemon scented body lotion. The beds were lumpy and soft. The bedding needs to be refreshed. The window shades didn’t keep the bright balcony light from filling the room. The ceiling squeaked from guests walking in the room above. Not a restful nights sleep.

The staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional. The room was spacious, clean and smelled fresh. The ocean view was amazing and I loved the breakfast biscuits and hot chocolate!

You can book whatever room you want at this hotel. But when you get there, you will not get that room. They either overbook or give your room away to other guests. Maybe because they think Hilton Honors members will keep coming back no matter how bad the experience is…. The photo is my “Ocean view balcony” I booked. Then they changed me (“upgraded”) to a handicap accesible room because the one I booked wasn’t available.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast, beach access directly across the street. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance or within a few miles.

I was looking forward to enjoy a beautiful ocean view room. Instead I was placed in a room with a view of the beach from the side! When I visited the receptionist, she stated that I selected the room I had been given. As i explained that I did not book the room she assigned me, I felt that I was "bothering her" as I spoke. At this time, I asked to speak with her manager. The manager came out from the back with a hoodie on , hands in her pocket & appeared to have been woken up from a nap! How do you approach a customer as a MANAGER with that type of attire! As you are representative of HILTON HOTEL. Needless to say, the conversation went nowhere real fast, due to her approach & my frustration as I expected to have an oceanview room. Jessica stated that I booked the wrong room, which should have been written as "Ocean front room" not "Ocean View room". Really?? I didn't know that was a thing!! Instead of focusing on a resolution, Jessica focused on my tone of voice, which I can admit that my Puerto Rican heritage & my NY upbringing, probably made her uncomfortable (LOL). At this time, no one has reached out to discuss the issue regarding my stay! Hmm I wonder why??

I asked three times for someone to look at my shower the water barely came out no one ever showed up so we left a day early so we could shower. When I expressed my concerns the girl said yeah I saw the message in the group chat but don’t know why no one has shown up. When I asked if the low water pressure is normal she I don’t know I’m not gonna lie to you. At check in I asked for a box fan and the two young kids working looked at each other and laughed. I said does that mean no and they just stared at me. Went to breakfast and there was an employee standing around watching everyone but not doing anything there was one pancake. It was just an overall horrible experience with no customer service.

We asked for a balcony water view and got an excellent view right in front. Made us happy!

The hotel was in a nice location- off the seawall and near dining options. Pretty walkable area, and spacious lobby. The rooms were clean, and a small balcony was a plus but no option that we found to run off the bright light at night. Parking is charged additionally, which is normally something I don't go for. My vehicle was washed right before I parked for the night, and the following morning hand prints were all over the windows from someone apparently looking in. As always, never leave anything visible in your car.

Nice view and walking distance to most of the sights

Unfortunately the kids running and stomping around above us kept us awake a lot, but that can happen most anywhere. Not the properties fault. The facility itself was wonderful. Excellent location, great staff, and very clean.

Great location and customer service. The property is nice and clean, with TONS of sitting areas and tables in the lounge. The breakfast was decent; not great but not terrible. Nice large walk in shower. The beds were firm but not uncomfortable. The balcony facing the water was great! The view was amazing! The pet fee and deposit was resonable and worth it. My 70lb GSD mix loved it here. This will be my go-to hotel from here on out.

It is close to the sea, a beautiful view, everything is close and very friendly and good breakfast.

Very nice and right across street from the beach. Love to walk to the pizza shop right at front. They open late til 1am. Serve alcohol and food. We will definitely be back

The breakfasts need to be improved, there is little variety and long lines to be served. I didn't eat anything during my stay because of the long lines.

We really enjoyed staying here. It was in a great location which was convenient to everything. The breakfast was superb! It was just as good as a restaurant. We would stay here again! We had a great experience.

Everything seemed clean, modern and new. I liked the fact there was no carpeting which made the place seem cleaner. The decorative window shades were much better than drapes. We brought our 2 little Chihuahuas and with a place that allows dogs, it was well maintained and smelling nice in the common areas. The entire place had an industrial feel and the rooms felt like you were staying in an Ikea display. While the place isn't luxurious by any means, it was cute, modern, clean and decorated in a 50/60's motif which seems to be popular these days. The 2 breakfast buffets were wonderful for those people wanting to eat at that time of day with lots to choose from. One buffet had make it yourself waffles and all kinds of things to make breakfast sandwiches, egg patties, chicken cutlet patties, biscuits, bagels, bread, muffins, sliced cheeses, Canadian bacon and regular bacon, while the other side had pre-made pancakes, scrambled or boiled eggs, sausages, oatmeal, etc. Both had multi-juice and coffee stations. The entire facility was kept up very well and seemed brand new. This is a combo hotel which is probably a new concept. One side called Tru had regular rooms with a desk. Our room had an ocean view with a balcony. The other side called Home2 had suite like rooms with a separate sofa/tv view area.

Overall a great place to stay. Kept changing the breakfast buffet to keep it fresh, but bacon needs to be a daily item.

I liked how close to the beach this is, I love staying at the Hilton. This Hilton breakfast was different then others and didn’t have much options but it was still good enough. Pool was great
