This was a great stay... private little garage, clean newly remodeled room and only a 15 min walk to Universal Studios tram. Check in was a little slow and no breakfast close by. Also, no room darkening shades... shutters let quite a bit of light in. Closed gate at night for security.

Very nice stay and place. Free parking near your door. Coffee in the lobby, nice soaps in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The walls are a bit thin so i heard my neighbors but nothing disruptive just coming and going.

Adorable older property. We thought we were staying in the cottages. Each one had a partially covered parking spot. We were told we were staying next door. This property is newly renovated. Parking spots are small and of course we have an SUV. The room had new floors. New bathroom. It was perfect for us. Many restaurants within walking distance. Definitely would stay here again.

Friendly staff. 12 minute walk to Universal Studio Parking is a bit cramped in the courtyard parking are but it’s in a secure area and they roll the gate closed at night. My 2nd stay here

The parking! Each place had their own parking. The room was clean, ac cool, bathroom nice, staff friendly, food convenient. Road was busy, two dispensaries right next to the hotel 👎there were a lot of homeless wondering in the evening. They have a gate they close at night at the hotel.

Pros: The staff were very friendly. The beds were clean and comfy. Walking distance to Universal Studios and a couple of restaurants and a grocery store. Cons: very strong smell of cleaning solution in the room that was present for the 4 days we were there. No coffee machine in the room.

Brilliant as usual. We have stayed here before. Staff could not be more helpful. Rooms very clean and serviced every day to such a high standard. The hotel is in such a convenient location for travelling around LA. Great free parking by your room. They don’t do breakfast however they have complimentary coffee in the morning with muffins which is very nice. The room also has a fridge and microwave which is very handy. 5 star all round and would highly recommend.

The property is unique as it is individual bungalows with a small attached parking space. There is a gate that closes at 12am that you have to make special arrangements with the staff to exit or enter after hours. There was mold in the shower and the lighting was too bright or lacking. It would have been nice to have lamps and a second bedside table. Also, they only gave us one key for 2 people. Aesthetically, the place could use some touch-ups.

The room was quiet and mostly clean. The floor was a little dirty because the bottoms of my white socks were dirty brown from walking on the floor for just a few minutes. The rest of the place was immaculate. The coat hanger rack was detached from the wall on one of its corners. No other complaints other than those items.

Lovely quaint room that looked recently renovated. The wifi signal is a bit weak near the back of the suite. Coffee is available in the morning and tastes great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Our room had a microwave and fridge and there were a number of supermarkets within walking distance to purchase food to bring back to the room. The only thing that would have enhanced our stay would have been the provision of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Overall the outside of the property needs an update. The room itself was clean. But , the A/C was not working properly and we had to buy a fan to make the temperature in the room comfortable for sleeping. Reported to the front desk the attendant checked the system but no improvement.

Robert and his assistant, need ro check his name tomorrow are great. Arrived way before check in and wanted to leave my car at the hotel site and take an Uber to Universal Studios about a mile away. Robert found me a space as it appears there is one spot per unit. Had a great day at the park and when we returned Robert had our room set, with a covered parking spot. The room was one of the refurbished ones, 103, and was fantastic. Relaxing evening chilling out after a long day at the park. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love staying here just for the staff alone. This was our second time Coming but this time bringing our kids. I somehow only booked a one king bed and they had no problem upgrading me free of charge to the two king room. They are very kind, funny, and are available when in need. I recommend staying here for Universals Studios as it’s not too far, the parking is secluded and private, and easy to get in and out of.

Parking was easy. The staff are courtesy and professional. This was my second time staying here and my first time leaving a review for them , what compelled me to do so was them willing to work with me for an early check in. I never asked for an early check in during my first stay but due to my plans it was necessary this second time around and luckily they allowed it . This sole reason is enough for me to want to leave a review as they did not have too . For the price you pay it’s about what you would expect . I always check for bed bugs and did not find any both stays so that’s always a plus . I would stay here again if there price range remains about the same otherwise I would just pay the $60-$80 difference towards a name brand hotel.

Called a day ahead to request an early check and was accommodated at arrival. Staff offered me a bottle of water and showed me to my room. The room was perfect for a solo traveler and had everything I needed with plenty of room and a comfy bed. I was there for Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, so this was perfect since it was just a few minutes down the road and the cheapest in the area considering everyone else had jacked their rates up for the event. It was nice to easily get back to the hotel after a long night.

The room was very nice and newly renovated. Had issues with the service: Asked the staff 3-4x whether parking on the premises is possible or not during our stay at Universal Studios (we stayed the night before the visit für approx 300 USD/night w/o breakfast). The answers were check upon arrival, check tomorrow and you should have asked yesterday as well as I cannot call my boss, he does not like being called in the mornings. I also saw no machine for customers for ice - no possibility to fill cooling boxes etc.

The staff was very friendly, and understanding! Our drive to California started off late, which caused us to arrive past the required check in time. The closing manager stayed over 2 after after his shift ended to accommodate us with our check in. He saw we had a baby, and let us in our room before we were fully checked in. The morning staff was very friendly. The cleaning staff was very polite and professional. We recommend this place highly! It’s not high end but it’s cozy.

The front desk was not staffed. I called the hotel ahead of time trying to see if we can store our luggage before check in. The person on the phone told me to be there after 10 am. When I got there at 10:30 am, a person told men he's the gardener and he helped me store my luggage. When we checked out, there is a gardener serving us but all he did was a to have us writing down our names on a form. The place is newly renovated and very clean. However, there is no pool or outside sitting area where you can sit and relax. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep, this world work. It has all the basics with microwave, kettle and fridge.

We just stayed here for my sons bday trip to universal .. the hotel is walking distance (12 min walk) to universal where u can get on the free tram to take u to the front of the park! The staff at the hotel are absolutely wonderful.. they gave us cookies upon arrival and made sure our stay was nothing short of perfect! Highly recommend if going to universal or just visiting the studio city area :)

First time staying here and absolutely loved it and felt safe. I was traveling with my two children to universal studios. The walk is about 12 mins. Close places to eat and was convenient. Starbucks and Ralph’s was close by for snacks. Awesome sushi restaurant across the street. Place was awesome with car parking at no additional cost. Bed was just a bit uncomfortable but not a big issue. Gate closes at midnight and was awesome for safety. No noise and it was peaceful as we slept. Will definitely be staying here again.

Very close to Universal Studios, nice place to sleep, good places to buy groceries or to go dinner. To improve: If you don't go very early to the free coffee and bread provided by the hotel, you get nothing, you should get a piece of bread if you go at a proper time 7 am to 10 am is the breakfast, its not cool that people that get up sooner can get all pieces.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights as we had plans to enjoy a day at Universal Studios. We wanted something affordable for our vacation with no frills and we found it! Small quaint with super friendly staff. Very welcoming, I accidently showed up a little early and they were so kind. We allowed them to finish our room and came back in 30 mins to check in. You get a personal parking spot next to your room which also creates a barrier to other rooms, so our room was quiet, no neighbors could be heard. Lots of food choices nearby, a friendly Irish pub is across the street. If you're not okay with "420" then don't stay here, there is a dispensary next door, which is not the only located in the area as this is LA there are MANY along ventura blvd. I know some people will raise their nose to that. We felt right at home. Lyft and Uber were $8-10 to take to Universal. VERY clean room, I love being barefoot and my feet didnt turn black. In Terminator's voice" We'll be back"

I booked this hotel on a whim since it was close to Universal, and I feel like I hit the jackpot. Compared to everywhere around here, this was half the price! The room was cozy, incredibly clean, and with all of the amenities well-stocked. Universal is a 15 minute walk away (to their shuttle), or a 30 minute walk directly to the park. The area is really nice with some solid food options, and very walkable. Additionally, the four staffers I met during my stay were all incredibly nice. They made sure I had anything I needed, I got an early check-in, and it was no problem when I decided to stay an extra two nights. I’m definitely booking here again. For the price, you can’t beat the room and location. 10/10

This property was is so cute, when I checked in Robert was there to greet me and he is the sweetest ever! although they don't have breakfast they do have pastries available in the morning. But, if that's not your jam they are not far away from other eateries. I will definitely book with them again. Thank you guys for making this family vacation with my girls one to remember :)

We went to Universal Studios to celebrate my son's birthday and we stayed one night at the Royal Hotel. The customer service is excellent. Xavier and Oscar were very friendly at all times. I highly recommend it. The rooms are larger than I expected. The room is very comfortable and very clean, it has a microwave and refrigerator, the location is perfect, 10 minutes walk to the universal shuttle and one block away you can find different stores like Ralph's, Walgreens, 7Eleven, we definitely plan to return. Thanks.

Don’t be fooled by the so/so outside appearance. The rooms are newly refinished, clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Several restaurants within east walking distance.
