We had our dog with us. The room was great for having a dog with us. Easy access to dog walking area. The room was basic but fine for what we needed. Toilet seat was loose and placed very close to the sink making it an uncomfortable spot when needing it. The hand soap dispenser was difficult to get soap from. The bathtub faucet leaked. However there was plenty of hot water and the shower had great pressure.

Rooms were clean and comfortable- we had two. Red Roof rocks for being able to bring a pet. Near train tracks but I only heard the train once and it wasn’t too loud- otherwise our stay was quiet even tho the place was full

As my wife likes to say, the motel was cheap and cheerful. Owners and staff were very friendly. We would definitely return if we wanted to stay in the area again. Having said that, there were a couple of issues (some mentioned by others in reviews) that I thought I should mention...we stayed on the second (top) floor. To get there, you take a short flight of stairs...but, be careful at the top! The top step is a bit out of joint and can be a tripping hazard...not a good thing at the top of the stairs! As well, my wife pointed out that the smoke detector was loosely hanging from the ceiling in our room (206). I don't know if it was working or not, I didn't investigate. Also, the clock radio was unplugged when we got in the room so I plugged it in so we could tell the time at night...the face of the clock was not working properly and needs to be replaced. The shower bar above the tub (btw the water was nice and hot but not a load of pressure) had obviously been replaced and was a bit low so if you are 5'8" or taller, watch your head! The bathroom had a bit of a smell to it but the room was clean. We had to find the laundry cart to replace a couple of not quite clean facecloths in our bathroom.

Since we had pets it was great to have a first floor room. We were able to park right in from of the room. I guess i signed us up for a handicap room. The only issue i had with the walk in shower was the floor was very slippery. The surrond grab bar was helpful. I think some traction strips wold be helpful.

The place is certainly convenient to the interstate, and yet it's fairly quiet. However, the outdoor stairway leading to my room had a broken step that was downright unsafe in my opinion. I also experienced bedbug bites -- I am quite sure that's what they were, having had a home invasion of the critters some years ago. I would recommend that the hotel management do a thorough search-and-destroy for them.

When I first got into the room i pulled back the blanket and the sheets were dirty. I told the office about it. The receptionist came down to my room, changed the sheets and mopped the floor. In the bathroom there are 4 dispensers on the wall. The 2 near the sink are for hand soap and lotion. The 2 in the bathtub are for shampoo and body wash. The only one working was the shampoo and it worked intermittently. The breakfast had cereal, coffee, juice, and donuts. The staff were friendly. Parking was ok. A few years ago the this motel was a Days Inn. The Days Inn had wonderful. It was clean, well stocked, and the breakfast was good. ThevRed Roof Inn. Not so much.

After I had checked in, the guy at the front desk handed me my room card, the sleeve for it was encrusted in dirt and prints from dirty fingers. I walked up to my room and turned on the light. Immediately I saw that both beds had large dark yellow spotted stains covering both comforters. I pulled back the covers and the sheets were covered in large dark yellow stains as well and tiny black spots throughout the spread. I have never felt so uncomfortable/ disgusted in my life and I can not believe that someone put those on feeling okay about it. The towels were stained as well and the washcloths had dark smudge stains. The shower had long black hairs around the faucet as well as the walls of it. I can't begin to understand how all of this slipped through management. I'm really hoping I get a refund because I paid $83 dollars for this nightmare and had to check out immediately after I saw all of this.

The staff was friendly but the room was not properly cleaned. When I opened the shower curtain, there was a huge clump of hair on the shower wall. There was also a used washcloth hanging over the curtain rod. The entire property smelled like smoke.

Nice place, good breakfast included. Ground level window lock broken, had to improvise with vice grips, left them for the next person. Handicap shower curtain not long enough, gets bath floor all wet and slippery.

The room seemed to be clean and the walls recently painted. The bathroom had a urine smell. Heard noises most of the night, banging and a small dog yapping. The parking lot seemed noisy late into the night (thin walls) and unknowingly there is a train line across the street with trains that traveled most of the night. Trucks woke me up early (5:30 AM) as the 2 lane road intersection behind the hotel got pretty busy. Not one of my better hotel choices.

Had a 1:00am arrival, staff was great at being prompt and efficient and getting us checked in quickly. Room was clean and well maintained. I would recommend that the breakfast add some water as an option to drink. I had to take the hot water, allow the water to cool and then drink it with my eggs.

I was extremely disappointed. The horrible smell of marijuana in our “smoke free” room was constant. We spoke with the front desk and they found it funny. Came to spray and that was it. This means it’s okay to smoke. It was nauseating to go to sleep to that smell and wake up to it! The mattresses are horrible! We sunk right in and had bad back pains!! Never again!

This property was a tad run down but very clean. The manager was very welcoming and pleasant. It was easy to reach from the highway and was in walking distance of food and entertainment. I would stay here again.

Stayed here as very convenient for I-90 and only a short drive from Skaneatles. Room was smart and clean, with a slightly marked bedspread the only negative. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. Good shower. Thumbs up for the waffle machine at breakfast in addition to the usual continental selection.

Overall, our experience was good. There were quite a few stains on the bedspread and duvet. The back of the toilet was dusty and had hair on it. The staff were lovely and helpful. There is a train track nearby and i did hear a train go by several times, but with the AC fan on it was not intrusive. Breakfast was depleted by 7:30 and did not seem likely to be replenished, although they were serving til 9. Overall it was not terrible, but also not great. I was not sure it lived up to its "rating" on Expedia.
