Beautiful historic property with friendly service in a great mountain town. We didn’t see Rebecca (the hotel ghost) but did meet Magic, the cuddly lodge kitty. Bet sure to take in the views from the historic tower.

The Lodge is a gem. Well maintained, nice shops, lovely pool and golf out the back door. Restaurant at hotel needs lots more staffing. Alex so considerate but needed so many waitstaff. If you have mobility problems, request first floor so you have fewer stairs. If not, the upper floor has less creaky steps over you.

The hotel has a unique old charm however the front desk staff was rude and not willing to be helpful. Additionally the pool and hot tub were out of order. When asked about plastic utensils, we were told to go to dollar general and buy some as they don’t have anything plastic. The hot water in the room was just above lukewarm. AC filters were so clogged, it significantly slowed any cool air coming in. No elevator and we were placed on the third floor. This hotel has a lot of history and it is cute the way it’s decorated and the bed was comfortable however some of the other negatives outweighed the positives. It was unfortunate because it is located in an awesome area in the mountains.

Loved the property! Have been wanting to stay here and finally had the pleasure of experiencing this historic hotel. Glad I did not bring my grandkids since they would have been disappointed since the pool area was closed. Front desk person had no idea why it was not open when i asked if it was due to season or issues with it.

Quick get away that was very nice. The only complaint is that the pool and Horan were being renovated. The properties other amenities more than made up for that. It was a pleasure to be there. The staff on the day we checked in was phenomenal.

Amazing historic property in the tiny railroad town of Cloudcroft 9,000 feet above the glistening white gypsum sands of White Sands National Park. Large, well appointed rooms with lovely baths with radiant heated floors. Charming dark wood paneled rooms with beamed ceilings. Large windows and period furnishings. Modern amenities include microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. Vintage book library, two stores, restaurant and bar, hot tub and year round outdoor pool. Lovely grounds with the highest golf course in New Mexico.

We stay at this hotel from time to time but this was not a good experience. The room had wet carpet, the wall paper on the walls was sagging, there was only warm water to shower, the hair dryer did not work and the breakfast was cold.

Beautiful location in a very rustic building. Downfall is due to the age the floorboards are very creaky so you can hear every step especually if you youre on the bottom floor. Would definately stay again, regret is not spending enough time there

We enjoyed spending our 45th anniversary in this magnificent hotel. Everyone was so kind, welcoming and professional. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The servers in the restaurant were so gracious. Loved the piano player. The chef is excellent and the food was excellent. The lobby is elegant and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was yummy! Our room was plush and clean. Be sure to visit The Tower at sunset. Fabulous views! My husband played the golf course which is photogenic and peaceful. The course employees were all so nice. Loved every moment spent here. Thanks for the memories!

This was one of the least comfortable beds I’ve ever had. It was incredibly soft and saggy where people had slept and was only fairly firm in the middle, but to sleep there meant squeezing my wife pretty badly. Mattress was in dire need of replacement. Otherwise the property was cute and interesting and the food and service at the restaurant was fine.

Exceeded my expectations. Room was spacious and well appointed. Good internet. Updated bathroom and very comfortable bed. The 1889 Dining Room was outstanding. I had a delicious green salad and perfectly cooked Elk backstrap tenderloin. Topped it off with ice cream and peach panna cotta. Highly recommended and I plan to return. Friendly staff also.

Rooms were clean and cozy. Great mattress and pillow combo.The property is amazing both inside and out. Water pressure was lacking in room 121 which is at the end of the hallway on the first floor.

The Lodge is beautiful. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the restaurant was delicious. The room was great from heated floors to comfy beds and was very warm. Windows were huge and made for great wildlife viewing. Will stay again

It's a cute and charming property, very clean and quiet. Lobby and common areas were enjoyable, including being able to play chess and take books on loan to read during your stay. The Premium Room we booked was nice...comfy bed, microwave, mini fridge, and upgraded bathroom. The bathroom flooring is supposed to be heated, though we could not get it to work with the thermostat. Maybe it's turned off for the season, but would've liked to have used it regardless. We were on the first floor and since it is a historical property, we could hear the guests upstairs walking around on the creaky floors. The most disappointing part of our stay was when we went to the lounge, about 30 minutes before closing, for a drink. One of the bartenders was clearly in a bad mood and shamed one of our drink orders. Mixed drinks were overpriced for the quality, but maybe that's because the bartender didn't want to make them to begin with. Overall, the property is interesting, well maintained, has a lot of history, and it was nice for a one-time stay. You can request a key to go up to the tower, which is cool.

The hotel was beautiful and historic but the age factor is my only issue. Whoever was in the room above us got up early and was walking around for 2 hours with the floor/ceiling creaking and popping with every step. Very difficult to sleep. The fine dining restaurant was nice however be prepared to wait a very very very long time to get your food. Once we finally got our food it was very good but we were fed up with the waiting and our waiter ignoring us during this long wait. Would definitely stay here again but avoid dinner and get a room on the top floor.

Didn’t even get to stay at the hotel for starters and when we tried to check in the front desk lady was very rude and tried to blame us for the inconvenience when nowhere on the website did it state their policy of having to be 21 and over to stay at this hotel. Bad service overall I would not recommend. Very hostile environment.

The hotel was great! A very old relic nicely kept up and maintained. It was beautiful. The lady working the front desk, Kellie, however was very rude and spoke condescendingly to me and to an older gentleman who claimed he was a repeat customer and visits the property annually. She made mistakes while inputting my billing address and tried to blame the new guy she claimed she was training. It was not an issue, just weird she couldn’t own her own mistake. The hotel advertises that it’s pet friendly and it absolutely was, but they charged me $25 unexpectedly for bringing my dog.

The staff was very helpful, pleasant and cordial. No issues with anything relating to the hotel itself. We dined at Rebecca's Restaurant in the hotel. Staff was cordial but food service was very slow. It took approximately 1 hour from the time we placed our order till the main course was served. That aside, we would stay at this property again in the future.

I have a service dog and the lady up front wanted to charge me a dog fee. Even if I had a service dog. When given the policy, 1. Showed I’m not to be charged. Then she went on to say she would need proof like a document which is against the law. I told her and she insisted . I’ve reached out for the manager to call me and nothing. May find a different place next time.

Cloudcroft Lodge is a like a trip to the previous century, but with modern comfort and conveniences. The dark wood floors and paneling are striking, and the large rooms a throw back to an earlier age. The grounds, including the golf course, are well manicured. Wonderful place to stay.

We truly enjoyed our two-day stay. We had the prime rib special at Rachel’s. Our only issue was weak coffee in the lobby each morning. Fortunately there are two great coffee shops within a quarter-mile walk of the Lodge. Be sure to check out the Cloucroft Brewery! Great beer selection

Nice room, overall fantastic property. The bar/restaurant has nothing but amazing potential but was quite unfortunately a complete embarrassment.. an over cooked $52 steak and sad little potato that came out before our salad, like 20 minutes before, was just a small part of what was wrong with the overall dining experience. Actually pretty much everything was wrong with the dining experience. The staff was nice though, and you could see was trying but obviously had no guidance. Too bad, a great restaurant would make the lodge really over the top fantastic. We’ll come back.

The Lodge is beautiful and we enjoyed staying there. The only disappointment was the restaurant and bar were closed on the Monday and Tuesday of the holiday weekend. Would have been great to sit on the beautiful porch and have a cocktail. Will stay again.
