Fantastic property. Bus pass provided for free transit into Banff. Great water slides and hot tubs. Free parking.

It was an older property, but the space was amazing. There was a full-sized kitchen, dining table, and family room. The loft upstairs was large. The kids had so much space to run around. There was a parking space for the car outside the duplex. The best part was the outside pool. There was an indoor wading pool, but it was cold, and we used the one outside. Because the outside temp was cool, the water temp was just right. It was also shallow enough for my 4 year old to swim without worrying she might drown. There was also a bus stop that goes downtown across the street. Wait time for the bus was approx 10mins. Coming back was harder, because the wait time was about 30mins and there were so many people who took the bus. It was only 2 stops from downtown, but it was not walkable (about 30mins walk). Better take the bus since the resort provides free bus pass for 3 days. Parking was horrible downtown so it was advised to just take the transit.

We have visited and love many hotels in and around Banff, this is the first one that feels disappointing. Hallways and stairwells are a dark and winding maze, easy to get lost. Water leaks from the ceiling in the hallways. Old heating system has first level rooms very cold, upper level rooms hot. Hotel room doors run on old card key locks that failed. The big waterslides and hot tubs are nice, but the main pool was closed.

Amazing hotel with nice hot tub, waterslide, and shuttle into town. room needs a refurb soon as it’s starting to feel a little dated for the high price you pay but still a great stay in a clean room

Building is a bit dated, but overall it was a good place to stay. The pool with water slides and hot tub was the highlight, however it was too bad they weren’t open longer than 9PM.

Nice place a little bit far from Banff center (it is necessary the car or take a bus to reach the center). Big room with kitchen and all tools. Amazing pool with waterslides

Beautiful area, there is lots of room choices. However, adult pool was closed down, saunas closed down, hottubs out of order. No resturant. They didnt change our sheets, only made the bed. Didnt replenish the coffee or toileties incl the toilet paper, we had to ask for it

Indoor playground for kids, a shallow pool for infants, hot tubs and water sliders are so much fun!

Shocked at how bad the rooms were. Literally falling apart, needs the biggest deep clean. Couldn’t wait to get out of there and was considering leaving early. The staff seemed sweet and the view of the mountains were beautiful.

The unit is dirty (carpets, window coverings, sofa, balcony) and sorely needs updating. The value for the cost was simply not there. Would not recommend nor stay there again.

We stayed here 10 years ago and it was decent value then but it would appear nobody has deep cleaned the rooms since then. Our hide a bed sheets had not been changed (found a sock!), the room stunk like rotten burnt food, the fridge had several spills in it that hadn’t been cleaned, and the fridge didn’t work (so we had to throw away food). Cleaning staff tried to improve the smell in our room by leaving the balcony doors wide open all day (which could have led to anyone entering our room but thankfully that didn’t happen). The only redeeming quality were the kind and friendly front desk staff and the maintenance man. I’m sure there are better value hotels in Banff. I’m not usually this critical but it was awful.

The rooms were very dirty and the hotel is in extremely poor condition, everything is very outdated/rundown. When we got into our room there was towels that looked like they had already been used and the shower was barely functional. The fire alarm also went off at one point early in the night which was very quiet and not easily heard from inside the room. Would not stay here again.

The amenities are great. I love the pool with the waterslides. The room we stayed in was not clean. There was so many spiderwebs and we had over 20 spiders in our bedroom. They just kept coming. The bathroom had so much mold and was not clean. The buildings themselves are old but if they were clean, it would be fine.

Needs a deep clean. Air conditioner doesn't work and is filthy. Coffee machine is plastic, broken, stained and needs to be thrown out. Room was hot. Fire alarm went off our last night and hallway was full of smoke. Apparently a room uses the fireplace and smoked their room out. Worker was in the hallway and never communicated to any of us what was happening , if it was safe to stay in our rooms, nothing. I realize it's a low star hotel, but it wouldn't kill them to clean, or replace things that don't work, communicate with guests during an incident, give more than 1 bar of soap, and some minor things really. At checkout they didn't even ask about our stay which is why I'm leaving this review. Because they know it's not acceptable and don't want to hear it. I wouldn't recommend giving this place a try.

The staff was very courteous. We complained about the room at reception because it smelled like cigarette smoking. Someone before smoked in it and even if they clean and spray everything it is still very hard to get the smell out. They offered to change us but we had already unpacked and brought everything in so we decided to stay as it was only for one night. But the smell was strong. Otherwise, it was very clean.

I have stayed at this property with friends and family many times over the year's and we generally love this hotel. The rooms are spacious and we love the cozy cabin feel..The negative is the property is starting to feel a little run down..the pool area is not clean at all, and it seems to be getting worse every year.The outdoor hot tub was very low on water. The stairs leading up to the waterslide are caked with dirt and both hot tubs have dirt in piles u can visibly see! The floors also seem very dirty and i doubt this place gets clened properly ever! Its sad because as much as we love the hotel we cant get over how gross that is..plus the games are broken have been for years and maybe a little update wouldnt hurt. This weekend the room i was in Was ok, but the bath tub was caked with idk what and we even had it cleaned after we arrived and it still felt dirty. I am disappointed in the cleanliness of this hotel.

Room was nice and warm, and staff seemed friendly at the front desk. The toilet wasnt very clean in the room, and the elevator was a bit concerning and clunky like it needed repairs. Altough hotel is getting a bit on the older side it was a good place to stay and prices more resonable than others. Bed was conformable.

The pool was not clean, lots of sand in the bottom. The bathroom vent was not working in the room.

We really enjoyed our stay. Its an older resort but it seems kept up. My children loved the pool and the play area. My husband and I enjoyed the spaciousness of the suite with a loft bedroom for the kids. We look forward to staying again.

On arrival the room was hot but the A/C circulating fan couldn’t be run as the bearings were shot and the noise was far too loud. As was said in other reviews the room had been cleaned but was old and the fixtures were in need of replacement. The hotel is about 1 mile from downtown, there is a bus but the service is not that great after 20:00. Returns are every hour. You can drive, but parking is an issue in Banff.

All good except for the very poor WiFi service. They didn’t care even after mentioning.

Great two night stay in a studio suite in the main building. The room was a bit dated but it had everything I needed. I appreciated having a kitchen as most accommodation in Banff is hotel room only. Also, the underground parking was awesome (without some outrageous additional cost). It’s super easy to get down to Banff Avenue with the bus stops right in front of the resort.

Love this hotel , great value for families. Could def do with room updating, but other than that price is good and so is location

Nice views and easy commute into Banff. The resort had a very dated and musty vibe and the room, although spacious, was not very clean - had a musty smell. Overall still good value for the money compared with other options.

Very outdated. Beds were not comfortable and had a dip in the middle of the mattress.

I asked to purchase early checkin, but they would only offer it for 2 hours early, and with no guarantee. They were no full, so i was very disappointed that there was zero interest in accomodating an early checkin.

Great service by the maintenance staff to fix the tv issues and replace the coffee maker.

Great hotel. Only complaint was that the check in counter took an extra hour for us to check in and forgot to give us bus passes. Ended up not being a big deal since bus drivers were cool with seeing our card keys and let us not have to pay on buses.

Room was clean and the staff were pleasant

The upstairs bathroom door handle was broken. One of the teens with us got stuck inside and couldn't open the door (yes it was unlocked). It took 5 of us to try and about 20 minutes before we were able to get her out! She was tramatized! I told the front desk and she said, oh haha there's lots of things broken around here. She didn't write it down or seem to take it seriously, at all. The remainder of the stay, we had to leave the door unlatched while using the bathroom. I feel sorry for the next people in that room! What if someone is there alone and goes in the bathroom? No one will know they are literally stuck in the bathroom! Other than that, they stay was great. Unfortunately, this is what we will remember.

Cupboards are pretty beat up with roughly patched gouges and scuffs. Hinges have springs that fall out and get lost. Fireplace concrete is cracked and spalled with large chunks missing. Front desk staff is awesomely helpful.

Room was clean and comfortable but quite dated; the front desk was not very approachable or helpful.

I rarely write reviews, but this stay was so terrible I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill fast. The room was absolutely filthy and had a horrible smell . The front desk staff was rude, dismissive and had attitudes. No apology, no solution — just pure unprofessionalism. The worst part? When we requested housekeeping to come clean the room, a staff member actually handed me a vacuum cleaner and said, “Do it yourself.” I thought it was a joke at first. It wasn’t. This hotel clearly has no standards for cleanliness or customer service. Save yourself the frustration and stay literally anywhere else. One star is too generous.

Loved the kitchen area and the balcony. I think the rooms need some renovations and the staff service needs to be improved.

You are literally just up the mountain from downtown and the first stop as you come up the mountain for the #2 bus (which the hotel gives you a pass to ride the bus for free). It was a 12-15 minute easy downhill walk for us into downtown Banff and you can take the bus back. It is quiet and beautiful up in this area. We had a balcony porch with views of the mountain with table and chairs and that was a real treat! The room had a comfortable queen bed, a wood burning fireplace (with wood to burn), a full kitchen and a sofa sleeper. We had everything we needed for our stay and the staff were always helpful and accommodating. This is an older property that has been well used so the Formica counters were worn and in need of replacement. The carpet in the room was fine and seemed to be recently replaced, but the carpet in the halls was not in good shape. Everything was functional, but dated, so for us it worked. The pool area under the front lobby was not functional or open, but they have a waterslide area and both an indoor and outdoor hot tub. We enjoyed the hot tub after our long hikes (some jets were working and some not, but there was a good amount of room and jets to enjoy). There is no restaurant or food on the property. It has the things you need in terms of the room, but it doesn't feel like a resort and it is definitely well used. For the price, it was clean and had what we needed. Parking was convenient and easy. Good staff!

We had a comfortable stay for two night. Staff were very friendly. Great that you get a free bus pass included with your stay. Bus stop is directly outside your hotel, so quick and easy to get to centre of town.

The staff was very friendly, gave tickets for free bus rides. My grandson had so much fun and enjoyment of the water slides. The men enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. I woukd consider staying here again

The place is super cool and affordable. The waterslide and hot tub is huge added value. Nice to also have a kitchenette for making meals if desired. The place could use some updating, but happy with the price and location. Really liked the free bus passes offered to guests and the Prow restaurant across the street!

An awesome place to stay. I had a loft room which was huge and amazing. It was a little dated but it was cozy. There were no options for food. There weren’t even vending machines on the property.

The hotel is outside of Banff, however, travel into Banff is easy and the hotel provides a courtesy bus pass. Every room is allocated parking, The only restaurant nearby is an adjacent hotel - the food is very nice. Douglas Fir is in need of renovations. As a stop over for a day or two to discover Banff and its surroundings it is fine. For a longer stay you may consider a more comfortable hotel.

Solo traveler stayed 5 nights. Housekeeping only attended to my room one time. Modest but quite spacious room with full kitchen. Wood burning fire place. Wood available in underground parking area. Waterpark, pool and indoor/outdoor hot tubs. View from outside pool was nice. No onsite grocery, store or restaurant so plan ahead. Easy access to Hoodoo trail and bus stop is across the street. Elk visited resort grounds daily. Fun to see.

Easy check-in and check-out. Each unit was provided with 1 parking space, also they gave out Unlimited Bus pass to downtown, though we didn’t use it, it’s really a nice perk for convenient travel to downtown. We rented a 1-bedroom Lodge, it has a kitchen and dining area, we were able to cook and have breakfast there. Only 1.5bath, so all 6 of us needs to use the washroom downstairs to take a shower. 2 Queen size beds upstairs and 1 bedroom with a queen size bed downstairs, enough for the 6 of us to rest after our daytrips in Lake Louise and Jasper. We didn’t really stayed long in the unit, we leave early in the morning and come back late at night, the area is quiet and dark but it still feels safe even driving there at night.
