The Beekman Tower more than fulfilled expectations. Our suite was spacious, the kitchen appliances more than adequate, the 1 1/2 bathrooms a luxury. For a building nearly 100 years old, it is in very good shape. Particularly useful was the laundry room and the coffee machine. The neighborhood, in the vicinity of the UN, is particularly safe. Best of all was the desk staff which was among the friendliest that we have ever experienced in our many years of travel.

Fantastic well appointed apartments and updated amenities with full kitchen, good quality beds, nice gym, small but convenient business center and super friendly staff (every single front desk employee both daytime and evening are welcoming and helpful). Only one negative is laundry room, although very convenient, machines and overall laundry could use an upgrade. In general the hotel is quiet despite the busy rooftop restaurant.

Pros: comfortable bed, sheets, great shower, VERY spacious - unmatched for NYC especially in this price range. Cons: Staff: was largely unhelpful and unfriendly. Often eating at the desk and ignoring guests. They answered the phone about half the time when I called from my room. The texting app only worked once. When I asked about something, was dismissed. At checkin, was not given wifi password or any info about breakfast or the hotel. Coffee etc.: In room there is a coffee maker and one coffee package...you have to get your own creamer! No tea or any other items. When I asked at front desk, was told to get from the lobby - the coffee maker there was out of order and no creamer...ended up getting some at the grocery store. Also get your own toilet paper! Less than 1 roll in the room for 5 day stay - you have to ask at the front desk. A/C: I think it was motion sensor activated - would go off if not moving around, and got hot overnight. Not too bad - generally it was comfortable, but it struggled if over 80 degrees. Also the 'wellness' room was very minimal. Thankfully at least it was a constant fan sound otherwise the A/C going on/off all night I would not have slept well. The Ophelia bar...overrated! Yes the view are fantastic - but the drinks were just okay and the service was terrible - I waited over 30mins seated and no one waited on me. I had to go to the bar for drinks and it wasn't super busy. Also so expensive! Over $50 for two cocktails...not worth it.

The staff at the front desk was ALWAYS so kind and helpful. The room itself needs some up keep. The beds were not very comfortable, the pull out couch was very uncomfortable. The bathroom ceiling paint was pealing off, a lot of rust in the shower and on the mirrors. The rooms were either very hot or very cold. The elevators were always broken typically only one was working.

The hotel has all the features of an apartment: a room with a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bathroom, a living area, and a laundry area located in the basement. We loved the experience; the staff was extremely attentive and kind to us, which truly deserves positive recognition. The location is great — it’s in a very quiet area, about a 10-minute walk from a subway station, and there’s a 24-hour market just one block away, which made for an easy walk at the end of a busy day exploring the city. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone. As a point of attention, since the hotel has a rooftop restaurant, on Friday and Saturday nights the hotel gets quite busy and even a bit noisy, as some bar visitors/customers end up stopping on the apartment floors and talking loudly.

The 2 bedroom "apartment" was spacious enough for a family of 5. With everything you would need it a kitchen. We stayed for 6 days and being able to have breakfast and lunch in the room is a real money saver. The front desk staff were all super helpful. The location was great close to a grocery store, restaurants, bus lines, and subway. The windows are a bit thin so the rooms are a little noisy; we stayed when there was a heat wave so the AC was running the whole time and covered up the noise. Laundry was also free to use and in the basement which was a plus as well. My son was able to use the work out room and my husband got some work done in the conference room so there are a lot of benefits there. The unit we had was a little beat up- the floor in the hallway must have gotten wet and the boards were warped, and the door in the bathroom was MDF and since there is no fan it was in bad shape. All in all I would definitely stay here again because of the location, room size and price but would try to ask for a room in better condition. There is also a ton of parking nearby just use Spot Hero. This is a great hotel for families.

The room was large, the views were beautiful, and we were very comfortable. The Ophelia Lounge was magical. One suggestion: Too many of the washers and dryers were broken. (They were free, so I can’t really complain.)

Lumpest bed We've ever slept on! Mildew in shower; Heater made a clicking sound whenever the unit was on! There are 3 elevators on the property, one is exclusive for their rooftop bar, and one of the other 2 had a giant trash bin (hotel under renovation) and was left turned off, leaving only 1 elevator to use, especially in the evenings! It was inconvenient Apt was roomy; had plates and cups no wine opener though

The room smelled horrible. The carpet in the bedroom was filthy. It looked as it had not been cleaned in a very long time. The sheets had hair on them. We had to buy new sheets and disinfect the apartment to even feel comfortable to stay there.

We had a very good experience over all but the carpet corridors are very dirty and smelly. This should be cleaned or changed. The team that are in front desk are great persons and very nice and helpful.

TLDR: Great for spacious stays or families willing to look past some cleanliness details. I really wanted to root for this property, here is my list: Pros: - Showerhead- wow, best ever? rainfall size but the pressure was ~chef's kiss~ - Good sized room for wanting some down time from the chaos of NYC - Safe area- right next to the UN, not a ton of dining options within a few blocks, but felt safe - Staff- they were helpful and seemed to be trying Cons: - The floors: very gross. Half the apartment was sticky and the carpet was well-worn. I wore a pair of white socks while in the apartment for our 4 night stay, and by the end they were nearly black. I passed the housekeeping cart on my way out once and it seems they were only using a Swiffer and a vacuum, not mopping between guests. In the tile areas you can clearly see the color the grout used to be versus the color it is now. I believe this to be because the hotel is not able to afford more housekeeping staff. On one evening, we requested more towels to the room and had to pick them up from the front desk ourselves because "they do not have housekeepers in the evening." - we stayed on the third floor and there was a smell to the whole floor. I couldn't pin-point it, not quite a musk, not quite a food, but was overpowering during our entire stay. - The mattress was the firmest mattress I have EVER slept on. Obviously very old, I honestly think a cot would have had more give.

The toilet paper was very thin. When we ran out, we called the front desk to request someone bringing more, but they wouldn’t. The heater constantly made horrible grinding noises. The floor of the elevator was filthy and went days before being vacuumed. However, the location was great.

The hotel is in a great location, at 1st Avenue and 49th Street. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the metro, but very close to two bus stops, so getting around by public transportation was easy. We had a room with a separate kitchen and bedroom. It was clean when we arrived, though there was some dust buildup in less obvious spots, like under the bed and in the air vents. Housekeeping is only provided once a week, but you can get fresh towels at the front desk if needed. The bathroom doesn’t have ventilation, but it somehow stays dry. The apartment could benefit from some wall art or decorations to improve the overall atmosphere. That was brutal. I wondered why the price was so good, and now I know. The heating/AC is a disaster. All night long, it sounded like a popcorn machine. Awful. And the air conditioner had a mind of its own, so it was a very hot night. Next time I will bite the bullet and spend the money for a decent hotel.

Would defintitely stay there again.

The staff at the front desk was ALWAYS so kind and helpful. The room itself needs some up keep. The beds were not very comfortable, the pull out couch was very uncomfortable. The bathroom ceiling paint was pealing off, a lot of rust in the shower and on the mirrors. The rooms were either very hot or very cold. The elevators were always broken typically only one was working.

The 2 bedroom "apartment" was spacious enough for a family of 5. With everything you would need it a kitchen. We stayed for 6 days and being able to have breakfast and lunch in the room is a real money saver. The front desk staff were all super helpful. The location was great close to a grocery store, restaurants, bus lines, and subway. The windows are a bit thin so the rooms are a little noisy; we stayed when there was a heat wave so the AC was running the whole time and covered up the noise. Laundry was also free to use and in the basement which was a plus as well. My son was able to use the work out room and my husband got some work done in the conference room so there are a lot of benefits there. The unit we had was a little beat up- the floor in the hallway must have gotten wet and the boards were warped, and the door in the bathroom was MDF and since there is no fan it was in bad shape. All in all I would definitely stay here again because of the location, room size and price but would try to ask for a room in better condition. There is also a ton of parking nearby just use Spot Hero. This is a great hotel for families.

I stayed at this hotel in New York to celebrate New Year’s Eve, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The mattresses on the beds were terrible—extremely uncomfortable and worn out. Overall a great stay. I arrived late, so there weren't many staff members to help. I had lots of bags and no one was there to meet me at the door. Most hotels that ive stayed at in NY have a doorman for that price. You cant drive up to the hotel because they have the front blocked off for taxis. Unloading bags ia very difficult. Especially with no help. Space is so limited that if you're not able to get that one spot near the hotel, you're stuck looping around the block until someone moves. I'm sad that I didnt get to visit the roof top bar. Really wanted to try that. Front desk staff were friendly. The room was nice & clean. The TV was annoying to figure out. I just wanted basic cable channels. All I had was Netflix and whatever Chromecast or random service they offered.

Nice size rooms, though just a little tired-looking. Nothing major needed, just a little tlc. Staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough to help. Good facilities and a great location. Quiet, clean and felt safe going to and from. A short walk from everything mid/uptown. Very glad we booked.

Pros: comfortable bed, sheets, great shower, VERY spacious - unmatched for NYC especially in this price range. Cons: Staff: was largely unhelpful and unfriendly. Often eating at the desk and ignoring guests. They answered the phone about half the time when I called from my room. The texting app only worked once. When I asked about something, was dismissed. At checkin, was not given wifi password or any info about breakfast or the hotel. Coffee etc.: In room there is a coffee maker and one coffee package...you have to get your own creamer! No tea or any other items. When I asked at front desk, was told to get from the lobby - the coffee maker there was out of order and no creamer...ended up getting some at the grocery store. Also get your own toilet paper! Less than 1 roll in the room for 5 day stay - you have to ask at the front desk. A/C: I think it was motion sensor activated - would go off if not moving around, and got hot overnight. Not too bad - generally it was comfortable, but it struggled if over 80 degrees. Also the 'wellness' room was very minimal. Thankfully at least it was a constant fan sound otherwise the A/C going on/off all night I would not have slept well. The Ophelia bar...overrated! Yes the view are fantastic - but the drinks were just okay and the service was terrible - I waited over 30mins seated and no one waited on me. I had to go to the bar for drinks and it wasn't super busy. Also so expensive! Over $50 for two cocktails...not worth it.

The staff and reservations manager were great and did all in their hands to get the situation resolived as quickly as possible. I did nonetheless notice there were other customers have raised the same concern. If this issue could be resolved, the hotel would be perfect.

My son and I stayed here for 3 weeks during our stay in NYC and it was wonderful. The receptionist and staff were very friendly and offered to help when we had any questions. The room had a kitchen and it felt like we were staying at a home rather than a hotel which was so nice. Location too, it’s located at a very safe and convenient location where you can use the train or bus! Thank you for a great stay and we hope to stay again when we come to NY!

Hotel was nice and our the way of all the hustle of the city and great size for NYC and pretty comfy. We were provided total privacy and the room was quiet and not overlooked. The room had a few small niggles but that was overridden by the fabulous view we got. It is the staff who make this place top star, they were all so helpful for any little issue. They were friendly and chatty. An extra big shoutout to Hector, as during a holiday that experienced travel and logistic problems he had answers ready and assistance for everything. It’s so nice to have someone take your problems away during a stressy time.

The location of The Beekman Tower was excellent for walking to all the NYC's main attractions. The apartment was a good size, a little bit tired but still good value for money. The aircon in the bedroom was noisy though! We were allowed a later check out by 2 hours which we really appreciated. We'd definitely stay here again and would recommend.

I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a place to stay in New York. If you’re looking for suites, It’s perfect for family, also for sharing with other adults. Rooms are decent sizes for New York stay, they are comfortable and adequate spaces around the suites for everyone to move about. The block is close to subway - 15 minutes from grand central station and 9 minutes from 51st street subway. The area is safe for walking to and from different parts of Manhattan. Staff are also very helpful and engaging. So glad we found this place!

The hotel is in a great location, at 1st Avenue and 49th Street. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the metro, but very close to two bus stops, so getting around by public transportation was easy. We had a room with a separate kitchen and bedroom. It was clean when we arrived, though there was some dust buildup in less obvious spots, like under the bed and in the air vents. Housekeeping is only provided once a week, but you can get fresh towels at the front desk if needed. The bathroom doesn’t have ventilation, but it somehow stays dry. The apartment could benefit from some wall art or decorations to improve the overall atmosphere. This was a good option for 5 adults as we rented the 1 bedroom type rooms. We requested foldout couches in our rooms and only received 1 not 2 as requested. This is a no frills place but it was comfortable for our needs. The Ophelia was a young people date place but we went up one night and really enjoyed the amazing views. The food was really good at Ophelia! Make sure that you have a reservation.

Had a great if exhausting vacation in New York. The Beekman Towers was a haven in which to rest after many busy days. Having a sofa and kitchen was a godsend. The staff were always helpful and efficient. Location was good, close to amenities and transport, and even a cocktail bar on the 26th floor with stunning views.
Had a great if exhausting vacation in New York. The Beekman Towers was a haven in which to rest after many busy days. Having a sofa and kitchen was a godsend. The staff were always helpful and efficient. Location was good, close to amenities and transport, and even a cocktail bar on the 26th floor with stunning views.

The hotel has all the features of an apartment: a room with a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bathroom, a living area, and a laundry area located in the basement. We loved the experience; the staff was extremely attentive and kind to us, which truly deserves positive recognition. The location is great — it’s in a very quiet area, about a 10-minute walk from a subway station, and there’s a 24-hour market just one block away, which made for an easy walk at the end of a busy day exploring the city. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone. As a point of attention, since the hotel has a rooftop restaurant, on Friday and Saturday nights the hotel gets quite busy and even a bit noisy, as some bar visitors/customers end up stopping on the apartment floors and talking loudly.

Our studio was as expected (as per promo pictures) and clean (not true for public spaces - a coffee? spill in the elevator was there when we arrived and still there when we left) Kitchen was not well equipped only two of each for cutlery, glasses, dishes and only one dishwasher soap provided. Had no ice cube tray so asked desk where we could get ice. Was told that the hotel does not supply ice. Was told that we could go out and buy some. Made a comment about no ice on the registration questionnaire and was told that we should ask for “another” ice cube tray at the front desk. Asked and finally got one. Why was one not offered when we originally asked about ice? Net, net, morning/afternoon desk person very pleasant and helpful; late afternoon/evening desk person the opposite. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but if you do choose to stay, note that this really is a no service hotel.

the beds/ pillows are very uncomfortable the couch in the siting area as well. other then that the location was good no parking, no breakfast- one coffee machine int he lobby with not so good coffee

The room was large, the views were beautiful, and we were very comfortable. The Ophelia Lounge was magical. One suggestion: Too many of the washers and dryers were broken. (They were free, so I can’t really complain.)
