Everything was really nice and clean, good WiFi, cute dogs, and Connie was very welcoming. We were only not used to the noise of the windmills nearby. And we really enjoyed the 20-30 minutes walk on the ranch owned trail while sunset.

It is hard to express truly how exceptional this place is. What makes it so special is the incredible customer service that all staff on the ranch provided. The owner, Jorge, is a constant presence who continually went out of his way to ensure that my family of 4 with two children (ages 8 and 11) maximized our experience. We were able to chat with him several times. In those talks, we learned about Costa Rica in general as well as the more local region surrounding the ranch. He provided suggestions for places to eat while in Monteverde which turned out to be 10/10. Given the remote area, it is best to eat breakfast and lunch at the ranch. The food is prepared specifically for you. Jorge will message you asking what you would like from the menu and it is made with care from the wonderful staff that work there, who are locals from the surrounding small towns. One of them even took the time to make a large grass cricket as a souvenir. The ranch includes an extensive trail network for hiking or running which have numerous great lookouts overlooking the rolling hills of the area and volcanoes in the distant. Also there is a swimming pool with a very fun - and fast - water slide. The hot tub and numerous hammocks were also well utilized. Our family utilized the horseback riding that the ranch offers which was a fantastic experience. The horses are well looked after and are essentially free range across the vast ranch, sometimes walking up to your door. 10/10 location!

Perfect. Only been in Costa Rica 2 days and to stay here sets the bar level very high if you like wilderness in a very homely, space-like environment!
