Sundown Villas

Rats/mice in the cupboards in the kitchen as our biscuits that were in packets were partially eaten. Misleading photos on website. Should specify which rooms have the spa bath. Laundry dirty. Overall not very good.

Stay was very comfortable and location was convenient. Being able to park right next to your room is also a plus. Great value. We will visit again.

No hot water for 4 out of 5 days and inadequate old heating system- in the middle of winter! Insufficient washing machines/dryers for a large complex, we needed to wash soccer clothing everyday and we had to hand wash in the room with no poor heating to dry clothing, 2 washing machines always in use and 1 dryer out of 2 wasn’t working. The staff did try to assist with the hot water issue but the entire system needs to be changed over to continuous hot water. Very frustrating when you pay $900 to stay for 5 nights and you can’t have a hot shower in the middle of winter!

We had a wonderful time staying here for a week Everyone was so friendly and the amenities were awesome

Dining area now closed. bring your own food for breakfast. Everything there for own cooking.

The shared car space was taken up by the other car so we had to park in front of our villa.

The staff are great. Very clean. Quiet people. It was very cold in Winter. The air con didn’t warm the villa well. I would like to visit again. However, Summer and Spring is best. The pool & BBQ area are kept extremely clean.

The bbq facilities were in very good condition. The area around clothes line & laundry untidy. The villas could have more utensils such as can opener, salad bowls & a saucepan. There was limited liquid detergent supplied for kitchen.

First time staying here & NEVER, EVER again. Photos of the 2 brm villa on website are extremely deceiving. Is very old, dirty & smelly. Small old air con made the whole villa smell like a fish market. Had to sleep in our track pants & jumpers as the one small putrid smelling old aircon in living area did not heat sufficiently. Living area did not have a sofa as shown in pics on website, only a round dining table with 4 chairs & the tv on wall above. Not a single powerpoint in either of the bedrooms, no bedside tables or bedside light. Bathroom is ancient & awful, dried up white paint all over the towel rail, ventilation via a gap with fly screen at top of bathroom window which lets all the freezing winter cold air in, bathroom door didn't shut properly. A previous guests used towels on the floor of one of the wardrobes. Everything just generally unclean. I could go on but I think you get the idea. Thought it might be a risk staying here & unfortunately I was right!

We were disappointed. The pictures indicated a nice place, but it was not. Guests are required to clean glasses/cups that were used.....they were really, really unclean. Towels used by previous guests were left hanging on door hooks. I am not sure that the sheets were changed as they were loose and wrinkled. There were ants in the kitchenette area. Picky? Maybe, but we expect the room to be 'finished'.

Tired and run down facility. Thin walls with little insulation in cold weather mean rivers of condensation running down the windows each morning and mould buildup in wet areas.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa (#279). The unit was very dirty. Mouldy curtains in one of the rooms, very dusty around the skirting and carpet. It hasn't had a proper clean in a very long time. We have stayed at Sundown many times previously and it's never been this bad. Even though the villas are looking a bit tired and in need of refresh, they are comfortable, spacious and location is quiet and close to shops.

Very clean all the amenities we needed good value just needed the shower and tiles updating but apart from that we would stay again

Room basic but clean. Shower very mouldy and continually leaking hot water tap.It was eventually repaired.

Well appointed rooms with kitchen and everything you need.

Good size of villa (40 m2) with seperate bedroom, kitchen area & dining table. Quiet location with large grounds & only 12 minutes drive from city. Excellent value for money. We'd definitely stay here again.

The room was far more basic than advertised. It was old, outddated and not comfortable. The staff were lovely, however.

While the room and service were fine, we had problems with the air-conditioner. It was loud, and switched from warm to cold without being programmed to do - problematic in the middle of a Canberra winter. Also, on our departure morning we found water at the base of the fridge, and found it had never been turned on at the power point and had defrosted; this was a problem for us, as we had stored meat and milk in the fridge section, which had gone off and had to be thrown out.

The air con was cold when heat was required and speaking to a couple of other tavellers they had the same isssue. It was warmer inside to leave the air con off although this was uncomfortable when it was 3 deg outside

Nice layout of rooms

The room was nice and roomy, however the bed only had a bedside light on one side and the fluro light cover fell of the bedroom light fell on us during the night.

This property was perfect for our stay and very comfortable. There were ants in the kitchenette on our first morning and there were some stains on the curtains and the back of the sofa. The beds were very comfortable and even though it was cold for our stay, the bedding and accommodation was very warm. We would stay here again. Thank you :)

stayed there previously, many years ago. this time disappointed with miniscule supply of soaps etc... even though we were there for 2 nts. Written policy was if we needed more, then could purchase at reception. Not good enough.

Dish washing detergent, if staying more than a night have to pay for tea and coffee, or run out of tisues or toilet paper bed is very basic same as bathroom. Would not stay again.

definitely a place i’ll keep coming back too! great service and spaces are perfect for families. extend my stay a couple more days because this was what i needed for a break.

clean quite and situated near major atrial routes

This property was out of town but close enough to travel to destinations and attractions within 10 minutes.

Self contained property in good location.

These villas are comfortable and basically equipped for short stays. The property is conceniently located for access to many areas of Canberra.

Location, and a very quiet , clean place

Quiet even though their were groups of school children staying. Very conveniently located for getting into city centre. Very happy with location, standard of villa for the cost.
