Great Find. Outstanding welcoming and helpful staff. Beautiful property, spacious apartment like suites. Excellent varied breakfasts. Free indoor garage included. (Big deal in SJ) Wonderful location 2blocks from La Sábana the central city green space. Close to urban core, museums culture, supermarket, convenience store and highways. Wonderful base to explore Central Valley, volcanos archeological sites, coffee plantations. In city traffic and driving is crazy. For the most part drivers cope and are tolerant.

Upon arriving at the hotel, it was immediately clear that the surrounding area was not what I had expected, run-down and unattractive something I now realize was mentioned in previous reviews. Being from Florida, USA, I was struck by how much the building resembled a senior living facility, both in layout and atmosphere. I genuinely believe this may function as a hybrid senior home/hotel. The elevator was especially concerning extremely small, screeching loudly as it ascended, and malfunctioning to the point of opening on the third floor while the display showed the fifth. The floor indicators near the buttons were also not working properly, which raised legitimate safety concerns. Based on these observations, my girlfriend and I decided to shorten our stay and check out the following day. When I informed management of our concerns, their response was, “Such remarks are disrespectful to the owners and to my staff, who work hard to maintain high standards.” Sergio largely dismissed the validity of my observations, citing that “other guests are not complaining.”However, just because the elevator moves from floor to floor at a turtle’s pace while screeching does not mean it meets the safety standards set by Costa Rica’s Ministerio de Trabajo y Seguridad Social (MTSS). Room service also uses this same elevator, and I sincerely hope improvements are made before someone gets hurt. On a positive note, the beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was great. Tasty Pinto !

The property is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. they do not have an elevator so you have to carry your luggage, which was fine with me, but some people may not like that. The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruits and Omelets made to order. Overall it a good hotel, you will need transportation like a car or a taxi though.

Suites Cristina is a very nice property. Quiet, well-maintained, and comfortable. We had an excellent housekeeper, Lissette, who took great care of us. The breakfast bar has lots of fresh options and we didn’t get bored with the selection, even after 13 mornings. Easy to walk to the Sabana Park and local stores and restaurants. Secure garage to park the vehicle, if you choose the San Jose traffic challenge! The cost to do your own laundry on site is a bit steep, about $10 to wash and dry 1 load, so plan accordingly.

The hotel was very close to La Sabana park. We walked in the park and also walked to the National Stadium to watch a soccer game. The breakfast was great, with lots of options. The pool was nice too. The apartment we stayed in had 2 bedrooms, which were small, but had plenty of closet space. The living room area was tight, but had enough seating for 4 people. Decorations were minimal.

There were ants crawling on the bed for hours. Kids could not sleep until 3 am! Also we got an attic like room on top floor with low, sloping ceiling! Awful! We should get our money back!

The bath towels and the facial towels at this property has a lot of loose fibers that sticks to your body and face . I suggest they change their towels !!

Many units are apartment style with two bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms so excellent for families or two couples. The morning breakfast in courtyard was very good with a good range of foods. The beds were very comfortable. The site grounds and rooms were always very clean and with front desk service 24 hours. We used as vacation base for 12 days to take day bus trips to other areas of Costa Rica and in-between toured local DT museums and area parks at a leisurely pace-one a day and on a few days just relaxed or caught up on laundry on site Good vacation value whether visiting just for a few days or longer like us. The units have a kitchen but not well equipped but room service will bring anything you might need extra. We used primarily fridge and only ate small snacks or the odd simple meal..

Cristina is very professionally run. The rooms were spacious and clean and breakfast included a delicious and filling assortment. The management were so friendly an helpful. Another great feature, it is in an absolutely quiet location and far from the National Museums.

Foyer area was lovely and staff were very helpful. The actual suite was a bit dated and very little cooking equipment, but this was apparently available from reception. Breakfast was great, and beds were comfortable. Area was convenient and we walked into San Jose in 30m. The park was very close and a lovely place to wander.

The hotel was very close to La Sabana park. We walked in the park and also walked to the National Stadium to watch a soccer game. The breakfast was great, with lots of options. The pool was nice too. This property is just as advertised. Very spacious and beautiful. Breakfast was sumptuous with a wide variety of options for different cultures. I love the fact that each room has a large refrigerator for storage microwave and a stove if you wish to cook for yourself. Staff was very friendly. I had a lot of questions initially and the front desk staff was very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel

We were able to check in two hours early and allowed to breakfast for a fee even though we weren’t technically checked in as yet. Daily house keeping and breakfast was very tasty & fresh. Love the hospitality of the employees. Front desk helped us with a car rental, excursion and restaurant reservation as hubby and I were celebrating of 25th wedding anniversary. We also used guess laundry. Definitely a pleasant experience.

Breakfast was pretty good. Bed comfortable. Even though I paid in full prior to arrival, clerk stated he wasn’t sure if they would have a room for me. No offer was made to find me a room elsewhere nor to refund my payment. Very stressful. Do not recommend.

The hotel overbooked and canceled our stay last minute. They sent us a cryptic message saying they were rebooking somewhere else but didn't actually follow through with the rebooking and never told us if there was an update to the booking. This took a very long time to sort out and then they charged my credit card anyways! Very dissatisfied with this hotel.

It was such an enjoyable experience. We loved the quaintness of the hotel and that it was not a big chain. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly. If you are up for walking you can walk from the hotel all the way downtown, which we did without issues.

nice responsive staff. Great value for the money. Hotel areas don’t “flow”, weird construction. But clean, good Italian rest, nice walking area and dinning options. Went for a concert, great location to access stadium. Comfortable beds and equipped kitchen. ok parking, but its free. Would stay again.
