Twin Peaks Hotel

i was very aware that choosing a hotel this cheap in SF could be risky so i approached it like it was going to be like when i used to stay at hostels in my twenties. ill start with the positives: the location was great:on transit lines, safe,grocery nearby etc.the bathroom in my room was tiny but renovated, and of course the price was amazing for SF. now the negatives: while the bathroom was newly renovated, the hotel room irself was like an old attic space that fit a bed and dresser with about 12 inches to walk around them both. it was one of the rare times in my life that i literally thought when i opened the door "whoa..can i do this?". in fact, while i was in the lobby, another customer who just checked in came back down, dropped his keys on the counter and said "im not staying here" haha, and left. the biggest issue for me during my stay was the oppressive heat in the room. it was eadily 95'F with no circulation whatsoever. to be fair to the hotel, it was unusually hot that week in the city but that should have been accommodated in the room by maybe adding a fan or something. so all i did was sleep in there and leave as soon as i could every day and to return after dark. finally, i should also mention that you have to carry your suotcases up a very narrow, steep stairwell, so if you arent physically able to do so, you shouldnt stay here.

Parking challenges

Cheap hotel. You get what you pay for. The lack of air conditioner in the room which was hot unless the fan was going full blast. Advertisement on Expedia does not say that room does not have a private bathroom/shower. These are shared with adjacent rooms.

I checked in and was not told much else-restaurants any thing! In fact they don’t allow a telephone in any rooms, it’s ridiculous. Also I asked the receptionist if they could possibly have stored my little standing scooter away but it’s hard on them when they do pay. I

It was pretty decent for the price, parking was terrible but other then that it wasn’t bad.

Hotel was as expected. Check-in was easy. Was a bit nervous about my late arrival since there wasn’t a front desk phone number.

The best thing about this hotel is its location, super central and very convenient. The bad thing is that it doesn't have any major amenities other than the bed and the bathroom, even the TV didn't work.

This was a great experience. The staff was kind. Due to San Francisco being structured the way it is, it was difficult to find parking. I wish there was a parking structure or a spot specifically for the hotel. Maybe in the future? Who knows. Overall, the stay was great and the convenience to walk around to dine and shop was great. Definitely do not recommend. We got into the room where there was trash under the bed & under the sink. The shower & toilet were down the hall from the room & there was no doorknob on our door. There were stains on the wall and it had a funny odor.

Good hotel to stay at near the Castro. My only complaint was that the bedding had not been washed. There was a noticeable stain on the top quilt, overall used musty smell on the bedding, and I found hair on the pillowcases.

Peter was very kind and courteous. This place is in a great location and is very clean. There aren’t a lot of amenities, but the price is a great value. I was skeptical about the shared bathroom, but found it to be very clean. I highly recommend.

Had bed bugs

It's perfect for an overnight stay. There aren't many amenities. Overall, it's clean and adequate.

The room was average. The bed was comfortable. The location was great. There was rotting food in one of the dresser drawers. Disgusting!

Confirmation haul said check-in was 1pm. Got there and was told 3pm. Checking out, no one at front desk with “be back in 10 mins” sign, I waited easily 20. Bed was uncomfy. Loud noise through the night. Bathroom and shower dirty. Not great. But great location.

Absolutely disgusting and the smell is obscene

The hotel was clean, nothing extraordinary, but pleasant. Staff were present, and very accommodating while also non-invasive.

Room was claustrophobic, very small and the only window was frosted so you couldn’t see out. Toilet seat was broken and shower was angled toward the corner, making it hard to stand under the flow. Worst of all, there was noise from people coming and going at all hours of the night. I was next to the stairs which were old and creaky, so if you do stay here, ask for a room away from the stairs.

Not quite my style. The room was tiny and had an odd, possibly cigarette-like odor. I didn't check the reviews before booking, so it turned out different from what I anticipated. The shower and toilet were shared with others on the floor. I could hear conversations from down the hallway. I left after only two hours because it felt unsettling. It seemed more like a hostel or a fancy jail. Even the receptionist had glass protection, hard to hear wth he was saying. I won't return and would rather spend an extra $50 for a better experience. Just my personal perspective.

Great location, rooms are fine, except the large bay window in our room was propped up with metal pineapple juice cans. As night fell and it became cold, I closed the window. I underestimated the weight of it, and it slammed down hard on my fingers. My right index finger is still bruised two months later.

My low star rating is for how overpriced this hotel was. I paid $150ish for a room that, even in the expensive San Francisco market, should have been half that price or less. My response when I entered the room was “eew.” The front door was very difficult to open, handle needed to be replaced.. Old TV, no streamers, WiFi too weak to support any video on my devices.. Old mattress was too soft, very uncomfortable. It was SO LOUD, windows right on market street. Awful outdated curtains, cheap plastic table and chairs.. Bathroom was at least updated, it was the only pleasant part of that room. The staff was very nice.

The place was poorly kept up. Staff were unresponsive. Rooms were very small.

Reasonably priced,attentive staff

Steer clear of this hotel. Old and not kept up well. The person staying across the hall was playing his music very loud all night; management did not do anything at all. The shared bathroom flooded in the middle of the night. I left behind a jacket in the closet that had my AirPods in the zipped pocket. Called back and the manager said they did not find anything; however, the find my location app showed my item (AirPods) still at the hotel. Either shady manager or shady housekeeping.

Nice area. Staff is okay. I forgot some items in the closet, called hours after checkout and they never got back to me. Policy in Vegas is they have to hold it for you, not sure what their policy is but I thought that was wrong.

The front desk people were hardly in the office, there was hair in my bed, you can hear every bump. More of a hostel than a hotel

Great location

Great location and a very nice room.

Great little gem of a place near Castro. While spartan, it was clean and everything I needed. Cute older building, with an updated bathroom. Basic amenities, no-frills, but none were needed. Everything you need is a few steps away on market Street. I slept well when I was there, and it was quiet enough even though I was right on the street.

Affordable San Francisco conveniently located near the Castro/ Duboce triangle.

This is an. excellent location for a hotel. It is located near a Muni station and has lots of convenient retail nearby. We got the end room and had excellent views of the city skyline. The room was clean and spartan. We had to walk down the hall to use the toilet and shower (in separate rooms), but that is what you expect for a low rate. The hotel is old and the furnishings are a bit beat up. I think we would have had a difference experience if we'd gotten one of the numerous rooms down a long narrow hallway, for they would likely have faced into light wells. If you're simply looking for a place to crash for a night or two, it is a good value. If you're vacationing for several days, be sure to get a good picture of the room and the view before you go. Otherwise you might find the place claustrophobic and unpleasant to come back to.
