Argegno Modern Apartment

Family & I stayed from 6/16/24-6/20/24. We had a wonderful time in Argegno. Booking the place was easy. Barrie & Julie communicated promptly. Julie was very accommodating. She was always trying to help us with activities we can do & places we can go to even when we left for Florence. She made our stay extra special. The place was very clean! Best view of the lake. If you are looking for a place where you can hang-out with the family or loved ones to relax, drinking your favorite wine or cocktail, & want a beautiful view, this is the perfect place! We had a wonderful stay in Argegno. The village is authentic and cozy, with everything you need. The apartment is clean and the kitchen well equipped. Julie\'s kind service with good advice makes it even better. Thank you! Wifi works fine, we were able to combine work and holiday to a "workation" ;)

We really enjoyed the apartment, because it was located very centrally. Within 5 minutes walking you could find good restaurants, the lake, a very nice pool at the lake, small supermarkets, bakery, boat rent, bike rent. And the view out of the apartment over the lake is really stunning! Also for your visits to Como, Tremezzo, Bellagio, Menaggio it is maximum 30 minutes by car or bus. Also the ferry is 5 minutes walking and from there you can take the boat to every village at the lake. Milaan is 1 hour by car. The apartment was very nice and clean with a great balcony with a great view. Also the contact with Julie worked perfectly. We were very happy with our choice. We stayed in the apartment with a familiy with 2 kids of 13 and 15 years old.

We stayed in the apartment during the first week of July, peak tourist season on Lake Como. Given that, it was very affordable priced considering the truly amazing view, the few pics on the listing do not truly do it justice. The apartment was big enough for our group of two parents and two older teens. Argegno is not one of the bigger tourism spots on the lake and therefore was a little more peaceful than the more popular areas, but also a little further removed from some of the popular sites to visit. I would caution for anyone with moblity issues that the apartment is 111 steep stone steps (yes we counted) above the village which is quite a treck back and forth. That is the price you pay for the great view of the lake perched on the edge of a steep gorge. We found that the gorge also brought cool air down from the mountains which was nice on a hot July day. Overall, the negatives where; lots of climbing stairs, and no air conditioning / the positives; terrific view, clear apartment, reasonably priced. This was a good value and a great vacation.

Listing was as advertised with all the conveniences of a small apartment. We chose to use the parking lot a short walking distance for ease but a spot requiring some skill was available attached to the apartment. All utilities worked fine (shower, hot water, refrigerator, oven, stove, heat). Check-in process was great with a pick-up of key in village bar and on-line instructions accompanied by Julia checking in frequently to answer all of our questions. A nice bottle of wine greeted our arrival as welll as a toasty warm apartment. Bedding was sufficient with extra linning available as needed. View from apartment was spectacular with location a definite plus close to nearby villages, the ferry stop, the funivia to Pigra and easy access to Logano as well as Como and the Malpensa!. We used not only the small grocery store in the village but also the supermercato (Benet) 10 minutes away. Finally, we ate in the Bar Motta for lunch as well as the Hotel Argegno and Piazzetta restaurants which were both very good. Grazie mille, Julie
